Before long, there was a knock at the door.
In the study room, the two people who had been kissing released each other, glancing in the direction of the sound. Faye Turner quickly stood up and awkwardly smoothed her hair.
Adrian Lancaster looked at her flushed cheeks and felt a surge of joy, his lips curving into a gentle and handsome smile.

But Faye didn’t ask much. She reached out to take it, "Okay, thank you." Then she gently closed the door and turned to walk toward the desk.
"Adrian, your mother sent this letter." Faye lightly placed it on the desk, sensing its thickness.
Then she said to him, "Take a look." After that, she turned and left.
Watching his wife’s departing figure, Adrian Lancaster didn’t try to stop her.
Not until the study door softly clicked shut did he withdraw his gaze, landing it on the envelope before him.
The handwriting on the cover was familiar and long-missed.
