Chapter 457: Chapter 457: I Want to See You

Prestige Group, the iconic building in Argent, towers of glass gleaming under the sun.

Faye Turner was working as usual in the large office of the design department. The work atmosphere here was great, full of youthful vigor.

She pondered over last night’s phone call for a long time, figuring out a few things.

So, during a break from work, she went to the terrace and dialed Eliza Hayes’ number.

Hearing the ringtone, Eliza Hayes, who was blocked from leaving the old mansion by the old man, stared at the caller ID with a pause, feeling anxious.

She hadn’t expected Faye Turner to call her.

But she was obviously looking forward to the call! She quickly swiped to answer and pressed the phone to her ear.

Faye didn’t speak. 𝘧𝑟𝑒𝑒𝘸𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝓁.𝘤𝘰𝓂

Eliza was eager as she spoke, "I want to see you."

"Where to meet?" Her tone was gentle.

Eliza hesitated for a moment and lowered her voice, "I can’t go out, Grandpa has grounded me."

"I’ll be back in a bit." Faye didn’t seem surprised, there were things she needed to clarify.

"Alright."

Faye hung up the phone, lifted her eyes to the sky, and had a strong feeling that today’s meeting would be the breakthrough for the entire incident.

So, she finished a segment of work, informed Nancy Jennings, the director, and left the company.

It was Uncle Lane who drove her back to the old mansion; she hadn’t told Adrian Lancaster about this trip.

Before heading to the old mansion, she visited Dr. Aiken to get some herbal medicine to slow graying for Nanny Warren.

The car stopped in the serene courtyard of the mansion, and Grandpa appeared at the door of the living room with a cane, watching the car door open and the girl getting out.

"Faye?" It really was her!

"Grandpa!" Faye, carrying the herbal medicine, smiled and quickened her pace.

The old man smiled kindly, "Why have you come back alone?"

"I had some time, thought I’d bring Nanny Warren some herbal medicine and come to see you," Faye was welcomed into the house by the elder.

"Let the servants deliver the herbal medicine; you should play a game of chess with Grandpa." The old man didn’t want her going to the backyard, but couldn’t say it outright.

And Faye could sense Grandpa’s protective demeanor, "Grandpa, I need to show Nanny Warren how to simmer the medicine properly. If it isn’t brewed correctly, it’s just like not drinking it at all."

"Then I..."

"Grandpa," she gently interrupted, saying considerately, "I know what you’re worried about." She shook her head with a smile, "But relationships must be eased; I believe Mom reflected last night too."

"Faye, her emotions are unstable, I’m afraid..." The elder’s gaze fell on her rounded abdomen.

"But isn’t Nanny Warren here too?" Her voice was gentle, "Don’t worry, nothing will happen. As juniors, we can’t just leave her out in the cold all the time, and you’ve said that peace at home brings prosperity."

"But..."

"Grandpa, leave it to me. Trust me." Faye interrupted softly again, her face radiating sunshine and kindness, "If anything happens, I’ll call you, okay?"

The old man thought for a moment and finally nodded in agreement.

Because he believed that at least yesterday’s slap had brought Eliza Hayes halfway back to her senses.

She wouldn’t dare do anything vile again.

The Taoist priest also said that Faye, this girl, is the Lancaster Family’s lucky star, and perhaps the moment she took Caleb away, she really started to work her wonders.

Peace at home brings prosperity, he trusted Faye.
