When the Wind is Sweet: The Fairy Tale of Mr. and Mrs. Lancaster-Chapter 446: An Unlucky Morning
As they walked toward the kitchen, Sienna Dawson retreated slightly, her smile frozen, forced to make way for them.
Adrian Lancaster ignored her, and Faye Turner ignored her even more. Accompanying their grandfather, they walked toward the kitchen with laughter and conversation, talking about recent events, enjoying each other’s company.
This made Sienna’s heart feel as if she’d swallowed a fly, uncomfortable and somewhat aggrieved.
Soon after they left, footsteps sounded from behind her, and Sienna slowly turned around to see Eliza Hayes emerging from the room.
Her hair, originally styled meticulously, looked a little messier, and her right cheek was visibly swollen and red, causing a slight jolt in Sienna’s heart.
Did grandfather just call her in and slap her?
Eliza felt deeply humiliated, her expression sour, filled with intense dissatisfaction and anger towards Faye, as well as sorrow and disappointment at losing favor with the grandfather.
In short, her feelings were complex and contradictory, feeling somewhat like the walking dead.
But seeing Sienna, she didn’t want to lose face in front of outsiders, so she steadied her mood and said to her, "You should go back."
Sienna had many things weighing on her heart, wanting to speak them but not knowing how to start. She realized that the affection Mrs. Lancaster had for her was useless; it was the grandfather who ruled the household.
And the grandfather seemed to really like Faye.
"Auntie, then I... will take my leave," she said, appearing quite obedient, not making a fuss nor holding grudges.
She even politely bowed to Eliza before turning to leave, her steps slow and reluctant, her heart filled with dissatisfaction.
Clearly, she was Adrian’s first love, how could Adrian not miss her at all?
If there was no longing, what was all the everlasting promise about?
That was Adrian’s pledge to her!
When she stepped out of the living room, not a single person stopped her, and Sienna turned back longingly with every step, but unfortunately, through the floor-to-ceiling windows, she saw a joyous scene in the dining room—
Adrian and that woman dining happily with their silver-haired grandfather, all three of them wearing smiles of contentment.
The jealousy in her heart burned more and more intensely, as if threatening to scorch her eyes.
In the courtyard, seeing that Lamborghini made her even more envious.
How could a girl as ordinary as Faye, whose father was even a gambler, deserve to sit in such a good car?
Even now, Sienna firmly believed that Adrian had no love for Faye. It was merely because he was deeply hurt by her back then, and because of his heavy resentment, he treated her so coldly.
But breaking the ice in this relationship was really not an easy task.
On her drive home, with her thoughts consumed by Adrian Lancaster, Sienna’s attention wandered. So when the red light came on at the intersection and the Porsche in front of her stopped, she didn’t snap back to reality in time to hit the brakes!
Squeal—!
Even realizing it, the screech of the brakes echoed loudly, followed by a bang!
The front of her car crashed heavily into the rear of the other car!
Due to the strong impact, even with the seatbelt on, she leaned forward heavily, her forehead striking the steering wheel!
Bang!
Blood instantly gushed forth!
The pain made her vision go dark, and she gasped sharply, the warm blood streaming from her forehead, prompting her to quickly cover it with her hand.
Outside, the driver of the car she hit—a young woman in high heels—began pounding on the window, hurling insults at her—
"How do you drive? Can’t you see? Are you blind?!"
She clutched her forehead, enduring the pain, raising her eyes to look up as the tightly shut window was being banged against with loud thumps. She had no choice but to pick up the phone and call the traffic police.
This was truly an unlucky morning!
In the Lancaster Family’s old and majestic mansion, the environment was serene.
