Chapter 207: Chapter 207: President Lancaster Protects His Wife

Faye Turner stepped inside and closed the door.

"Come over and sit down. Tell me what’s going on?" The man’s voice was much gentler. He withdrew his gaze and turned on his computer, "I don’t want to hear you say things like you didn’t plagiarize."

Faye walked over to his desk and stood firm, "Then what do you want to hear?"

The man operated the computer with the mouse, not raising his eyes to look at her, his tone unhurried, "It’s been a whole day, where is the problem? As a party involved, haven’t you thought about it at all?"

She understood; he wanted evidence.

"Of course I’ve thought about it." So Faye said to him, "Yesterday, Serena Sutton deliberately ran into me early in the morning, scattering the printed design drafts she was holding all over the floor. She first made me pick them up, then shouted at me not to touch them, loudly accusing me of plagiarism. This incident happened to be seen by quite a few passing colleagues."

"Obviously, this is a counterattack strategy." Adrian Lancaster was listening intently. He glanced up, analyzing and asked, "And then? When was your idea plagiarized by her?" 𝐟𝕣𝕖𝐞𝐰𝕖𝚋𝐧𝗼𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝗰𝐨𝐦

The girl shook her head, "I really can’t remember."

Hearing this, the man’s expression darkened.

Faye quickly said, "Maybe we can pull the surveillance footage. I only know I revised my drafts in the office like everyone else, but I really don’t remember if she passed by me or saw anything."

Adrian Lancaster scrutinized her and then smiled, "You’re quite calm, the whole day, if I don’t ask, you don’t seek clarification from me."

Facing the man’s gaze, the girl felt a warmth in her heart, "If I ask you, will you help me?"

"No." He withdrew his gaze, hardly pausing to think.

This left Faye dumbfounded.

He said, "As a designer, especially before a competition, you have to foresee various situations. Plagiarism is a trick that happens every year. Protecting your ideas is the most basic skill of every competent designer."

So, he was criticizing her incompetence.

She couldn’t argue with his point, "You’re right, what you say makes sense, but how could I know your childhood friend would be so despicable?"

"Who was childhood friends with her? Are you deaf, Faye Turner?!" Adrian Lancaster was very resistant, his face stern, "Say it again! I’m not familiar with her!"

Their eyes met, and Faye couldn’t help but laugh. His earnest demeanor was really... cute.

But soon, Adrian Lancaster realized something and returned to his usual indifference, "Get out."

She looked at him, fully aware that he called her over and asked in such detail, intending to stand up for her.

However, he was concerned with appearances and didn’t want to appear too close to her, thus keeping a formal distance.

"Thank you, President Lancaster. President Lancaster, rest early, good night!" After speaking, she turned and left, feeling quite happy inside.

Watching the girl’s departing figure, Adrian Lancaster’s gaze became much gentler.

Ever since marrying her, this home had become much livelier, gradually gaining a sense of warmth.

After Faye left, Adrian Lancaster made a phone call.

He instructed in a low voice, "Pull the surveillance footage from the design department’s main office from the past few days for me."

After speaking, he hung up.

Soon, he received the contents he wanted.

And so, President Lancaster began personally searching for evidence, reviewing four days’ worth of surveillance footage in detail, magnifying it and going over it carefully.

Until one in the morning, he finally saw an unusual scene. He quickly slowed the speed down and watched that part again...

Serena Sutton was seen holding a coffee cup, passing by many people, with her gaze falling on others’ computer screens.

When she passed by Faye’s side, she deliberately slowed her steps, and in comparison, seemed to have taken a few more glances.

Thus, Adrian Lancaster judged that she had set her sights on Faye’s creative design from the very first glance...
