When the Wind is Sweet: The Fairy Tale of Mr. and Mrs. Lancaster-Chapter 147: Blaming Her
"No, no, do you know why?" Faye Turner calmly analyzed, "With Milo’s personality, he wouldn’t start trouble unless someone provoked him."
"That classmate spread rumors that his father is a gambling addict and rallied other students to ostracize him, so he’s been mocked..." At this point, Chloe Gable was very upset.
"Don’t worry, I’ll handle it right away." Saying this, Faye Turner got up and went to Nancy Jennings’ office to ask for leave.
Then she went downstairs alone. At times like these, she had to step up as the pillar of the family.
Just as she walked out of the company hall, she ran into Uncle Lane. Originally planning to take a cab, she said to him to save time, "Uncle Lane, could you give me a ride? Thank you."
The kind-hearted middle-aged man quickly opened the car door, "Sure, please get in."
The girl swiftly sat into the car, "I need to go to Goldspring Middle School."
Picking up on her urgent tone, Uncle Lane quickly started the car and asked with concern, "What’s so urgent?"
Faye Turner glanced at him, momentarily unsure of how to answer.
"Should I inform President Lancaster?" Uncle Lane asked worriedly, driving one-handed while his other hand had already sent the message.
"No need." Faye Turner hadn’t noticed his action and said with a smile, "Adrian’s been very busy lately, let’s not bother him."
Soon, Adrian Lancaster’s call came through to Faye Turner’s phone.
Seeing the caller ID startled her, but she quickly composed herself and answered, "Hello, Adrian."
"Where are you going?"
The man’s cold and displeased tone made the girl feel uneasy.
Faye Turner glanced, and Uncle Lane awkwardly withdrew his gaze, genuinely filled with care and concern for her.
"I’m asking you, where are you going?" Adrian Lancaster pressed again upon her long silence.
Faye Turner couldn’t deceive him and softly replied, "My brother got into a fight at school with the principal’s son, I’m going to handle it."
"Faye, from now on, you should inform me about any decisions you make." He was clearly unhappy.
"But this..."
"Are you pregnant with my child and running over to argue with others?" On the phone, Adrian Lancaster frowned deeply, "What if you get hit too? Can you take this responsibility?!"
The girl was speechless; his concern was for the child, not for her.
Then, he shouted lowly, "Wait for me! I’m coming too!"
Listening to the busy tone from the other end of the phone, Faye Turner felt a mix of emotions.
The car headed towards Goldspring Middle School.
Uncle Lane feared she’d blame him, so he emotionally opened up, "I’m really sorry, Miss Turner, President Lancaster specifically instructed me yesterday to ensure your safety. Besides using the car for commuting, I need to report to him."
Faye Turner glanced, Uncle Lane’s face was flushed with awkwardness, promptly smiling as he explained, "He did this for your benefit, not to monitor you."
"Thank you, Uncle Lane." Faye Turner felt grateful and couldn’t blame him.
Now that Adrian Lancaster was involved, it seemed unlikely the matter couldn’t be settled.
Meanwhile, at Goldspring Middle School.
In a certain classroom teacher’s office, a fat woman clad in fur despite the hot weather fiercely pointed at Milo Turner, "Are you rebelling? You brat! How dare you touch my son!" 𝒻𝘳ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝒷𝘯ℴ𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝑐ℴ𝑚
Slap!
Another slap landed, again striking the skinny young boy’s face to the side!
The class teacher nearby couldn’t hold her back, looking anxious and flustered, not really daring to intervene, only gesturing with her hands as if pretending to mediate.
