The porridge still had the familiar taste; it should have been made by Mu Ke when he went back. Sheng Jiayu only realized this later.
Mu Ke would cook for her, and it always seemed to be mild dishes, with nothing too stimulating.
Breakfast was mostly small wontons or porridge, sometimes Western-style but freshly made and warm. Even with sandwiches, he would toast the bread and the ham inside, so she wouldn’t eat anything raw or cold.
Although he would make spicy food for her, it was usually just one spicy dish per meal, balanced with soup and vegetables for a nutritious diet.

Lost in thought, a young nurse walked in carrying a flask of warm water. She had a sweet smile and attentively poured Sheng Jiayu a cup, handing it to her.
"Thank you."
Sheng Jiayu smiled as she accepted it. After she took her medicine, the nurse placed the water flask on the bedside table. She glanced at Sheng Jiayu, hesitated, and finally spoke.
"Is there anything else?"
The young nurse wasn’t very old, and she had an intern badge hanging in front of her, looking like she’d just come out of school, still a bit green.
She blinked at Sheng Jiayu and couldn’t resist gossiping, "So, are you really Doctor Mu’s girlfriend?"
Sheng Jiayu was a bit stunned but then heard the nurse continue, "Doctor Mu has always been very aloof, but yesterday he was super nervous about you, and he even said himself that you’re his girlfriend. Is that true?"
Being asked such a question by a nurse she didn’t know felt a little strange for Sheng Jiayu. Yet, the nurse seemed genuinely curious, and Sheng Jiayu didn’t want to brush her off.
She nodded. "Yes, I am."
The young nurse’s eyes widened as if she’d been struck by lightning. After a brief silence, she quietly said, "Doctor Mu’s girlfriend, you know, many young female doctors and nurses in the hospital like Doctor Mu, but no one dares to get close to him except for Doctor He. She’s beautiful and well-connected, and I heard she confessed to Doctor Mu twice, but he rejected her both times. Then yesterday, Doctor Mu said you were his girlfriend right in front of her; Doctor He looked like she’d swallowed a fly this morning."

The title made Sheng Jiayu feel a bit amused.
As for the nurse’s words, why did she tell her all this?
With such an innocent, pure demeanor, it seemed like she just wanted to gossip with her a bit. Sheng Jiayu believed she was pretty good at reading people, and this nurse didn’t really have any other intentions, just a desire to gossip. As for her reason for saying these things, it could be due to two possibilities: either she’s a fan of Mu Ke, or she doesn’t like the "Doctor He" she mentioned.
