Chapter 683: Chapter 683: Are You Avoiding Me? (Part 3)

Why Sheng Jiayu is avoiding him, Mu Ke knows all too well.

The man’s hand slightly clenched into a fist. He thought that after last night’s kiss, their relationship would progress further. Unexpectedly, in just one night, she directly used this straightforward way to avoid him.

Her fever had just gone down, and her cold hadn’t completely recovered. Did she really care so little about her own health to just run off to Europe like that?

A trace of anger flashed in Mu Ke’s eyes as he sat up straight, twisted the car key, and the car quickly sped onto the street, heading straight for the airport.

On the way, Mu Ke called a friend: "Do me a favor and check where the ticket purchased under the name Sheng Jiayu is for this morning." 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝒆𝒘𝙚𝓫𝙣𝙤𝒗𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢

A playful male voice came from the other end of the phone; just by hearing the voice, one could feel that person was extremely carefree and unserious.

"Hey? Our eternal iceberg doctor is looking for me? Rare, rare. How are you going to beg me?"

"Time, place, check it and send it to my phone. I’ll buy you a drink when I get back. That’s it."

"Hey, hey...? Damn..."

Mu Ke hung up right after speaking. Just as his car reached the airport, he received a text message. Ignoring the teasing in the first and last messages, Mu Ke focused solely on the second message about the flight information.

[10:50, Prague]

After buying the nearest flight, Mu Ke went through customs, cleared security, and sat in the waiting area waiting to board the plane, with airport announcements ringing out one after another.

Mu Ke stared blankly at the boarding pass on his phone, lost in thought.

"Ladies and gentlemen, flight XXXX from B City to Prague is now boarding, please board at gate 104."

Listening to the urging voice in the broadcast, Mu Ke finally stood up slowly, glanced at the aircraft taking off and landing on the tarmac outside, suddenly pressed his lips together, crumpled the boarding pass in his hand, tossed it into the nearby trash can, and walked out.

The moment Mu Ke knew Sheng Jiayu was avoiding him, he felt a bit angry, but he was calm now.

Sheng Jiayu is a woman with her own opinions and thoughts. No one can pull her out if she wants to hide in her shell, and no one can shove her back in if she wants to come out.

With someone like her, you can’t push too hard. Pushing too hard would only backfire.

Mu Ke walked out of the airport, got back into his car, took a deep breath, and drove away.

——

Sheng Jiayu left for half a month. She did have things to do in Europe, just not that urgent. That morning, after drinking the porridge Mu Ke made, she didn’t know what came over her — she grabbed her passport and wallet and headed straight to the airport.

It wasn’t until she was on the plane, and it started to taxi, that she felt she might have been too impulsive.

For someone with a cold, long-haul flights were torturous, her ears hurt tremendously. It took her two full days to recover after arriving in Prague.

But since she was already there, things needed to be done.

Sheng Jiayu’s bookstore combined elements of a literary bookshop and a café, requiring an excellent pastry chef and top-grade coffee beans.

She had almost wrapped up the coffee beans deal, and her main focus for this trip to Europe was to find an agreeable pastry chef.

Sheng Jiayu’s offer was generous. After traveling through several countries, she finally found the most suitable person. Once the arrangements were made and the time scheduled, she leisurely left Europe and returned to B City.

The flight landed at night. The weather in B City had turned significantly colder, and it was still raining outside.
