Chapter 26 - Han Tianming's Idol Su Zhou

"Why don't you show yourself?" The mature woman glanced at a nearby tree and called out.

"Hm... guess I've been caught," Han Tianming said, stepping out from behind it with a sheepish grin. He looked over at Mo Yanyu and Han Tianxue, both deep in their breakthroughs, oblivious to his presence. Perfect—Han Tianxue wouldn't notice him.

"Who are you?" Yang Hao asked, eyeing the stranger.

"You ever read The Nine Star Divine Novel?" Han Tianming replied with a question of his own.

"Oh yeah! That's my favorite book," Yang Hao said, nodding eagerly.

"Great. So you know Su Zhou, right?"

"Of course! He's the jerk who got the protagonist's fiancée to dump him."

"Exactly!" Han Tianming said, puffing out his chest. "That's me—or at least, who I want to be. But I haven't pulled it off yet." He let out a dramatic sigh, slumping his shoulders.

Yang Hao blinked, confused. "Wait... so you're the one who bribed my personal guard?"

"Huh?" Han Tianming scratched his head. "Did Su Zhou try to kill the protagonist before stealing his fiancée?"

"Uh... no," Yang Hao admitted.

"Then why would I bribe your guard? I'm not some random thug! Su Zhou's my hero—I'm chasing his vibe. The arrogance, the tiny brain, the clueless attitude, the obsession with flirting with every girl he sees—that's the dream me! But I haven't found my protagonist's fiancée yet. I thought your fiancée might be her, but she's way too into you. So, no protagonist vibes from you," Han Tianming said, his face dropping in disappointment. He stared at the sky, muttering, "When will I find my protagonist?"

Yang Hao nodded slowly, thinking this guy's head was seriously messed up. Better get rid of him before he annoyed Han Tianxue and Mo Yanyu. "Uh, maybe you should go search for your protagonist out there," he suggested.

Han Tianming's eyes lit up. "You're right! Thanks, brother! Once I find my protagonist, I'll bring him to meet you!"

"No, no, no!" Yang Hao shook his head fast. "I'm good. Keep him far away from me." This guy was trouble—better steer clear.

"Your loss," Han Tianming shrugged. He turned to leave, but then—

"Okay, if you two are done clowning around, care to tell me what's really going on?" the mature woman cut in, her tone sharp.

Han Tianming spun back around, grinning. "Oh, right! I'm actually her brother," he said, pointing at Han Tianxue. "Just here to swoop in and save her if things go bad. You know, after that last mess? Can't let my big sis get into trouble."

Yang Hao's jaw dropped. "Hold on—you're Han Tianming? The famous young master? The one everyone calls a arrogant bully?"

"Yup, that's me!" Han Tianming said proudly, puffing out his chest again.

"You're really living the Su Zhou life. Aren't you scared a protagonist's gonna show up and take you out one day?"

Han Tianming's eyes sparkled. "Scared? I'm begging for it! I'm waiting for that protagonist to roll in and end me. I want my death to be epic—like Su Zhou's! Picture this: me, running naked through the streets, protagonist strolling behind me with his sword, all cool and calm. Not one person in the city lifts a finger to help me. Then—bam!—he chops off my, uh, 'third leg,' and in front of the whole crowd, he slices my head clean off!" Han Tianming hugged himself, shivering with excitement. "Just thinking about it makes me tingle all over!"

Yang Hao gagged a little, totally grossed out. This guy was a walking disaster—he'd stay a mile away from him, no question.

"You can leave now," the mature woman said, waving her hand like she was shooing a fly.

"Yes, ma'am!" Han Tianming saluted her, then started walking off. "Oh, protagonist! Where are you hiding? When will you come chop me up? Protagonist, protagonist!" he chanted, his voice fading as he vanished into the distance.

Yang Hao shook his head, feeling a pang of pity for Han Tianxue. Her brother was a nutcase, and, her dad wasn't much better—barely a functioning brain between them. Growing up in that family had to be a nightmare.
