What Do You Mean I Have To Comprehend Dao As A Mortal God?-Chapter 95: Purple Building

I pulled back my fist, charging it with lightning before punching the Anomaly I was riding on top of in the back of its head.

The rock armour surrounding the head shattered to expose the flesh underneath and I pulled back again to repeat the punch, this time smashing its head into pieces.

The Anomaly wobbled on unsteady legs and I leapt off its back before it toppled forward to crash onto the ground with an earthshaking thud.

I turned back to see the field of corpses that now littered the entire cavern as Vanguards collapsed on the ground after the battle that lasted for two hours.

A break was called as everyone broke off to separate into their own groups to rest while Olivia took charge in organising the temporary camp, posting sentries to watch out for more Anomalies and also coordinating with the people from the military that were here to clean up the corpses.

No doubt they were also taking some of the corpses back for materials and research but that’s none of my concern.

Leena came over to me, strapping her machine gun to her back before pulling out a bottle of water from one of her saddle bags to pass it to me.

I shook my head before tapping at my mask, "It’s alright... I’m good."

She tilted her head, "I have brought camping equipment as well, Mortal God. We can set it up to separate you from the others."

I shook my head, "No, no, it’s alright. I’m planning to meditate to regain my energy in a bit so there’s no need for that."

"I see... Should I set up a partition wall then?" She asked, pulling out a collapsible partition.

Is there anything that she doesn’t have in the bags that she’s carrying?

I took up on her offer for the partition and she went ahead to lay down a mat before setting up a partition wall to cover it up, allowing me to step inside.

Settling down on the mat, I crossed my legs and started to meditate, focusing on trying to absorb the life energy around me again.

Unlike earlier where it was meant to recharge myself quickly, I allowed myself to sink deeper into the meditation since we had time to rest right now.

I felt the darkness around me grow heavier and heavier before a speck of light suddenly appeared in front of me. 𝙧𝙚𝙚𝔀𝒆𝓫𝓷𝙤𝓿𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝙤𝓶

When I focused my attention on that light, the area around me suddenly changed and I found myself standing in a different place.

Blinking, I looked around and found the sapling that appeared the last time I broke through behind me.

Right now, it had grown noticeably bigger and it was akin to a young tree at this point, its height reaching about a little bit more than my own height.

Hmm... I wonder...

I walked up to the tree and sat down underneath it, assuming my usual meditation pose and concentrating.

The moment I reached the usual state where I would start to see the light orbs, I felt a warm feeling gather around me like I was being wrapped up in a cozy blanket.

I reached out my senses and started to absorb the life energy that was in the air, right as an idea came to me.

Instead of directing all the energy into my core, I tried to sense where the tree was and directed some of the energy I absorbed towards the tree as well.

The feeling came to me quite easily surprisingly.

If I had to describe it... It was like you’re in the shower and you stretch out your arm to the side to direct some of the water to the side like you have water manipulation abilities.

The warmth around me intensified though not in an uncomfortable way.

I kept up the flow of energy until I felt it wane and cut off the supply before opening my eyes again.

The tree that had grown at least a few metres taller and its branches had spread out to cover a wider area like a giant umbrella above me.

That was not all, however, as I realised that previously, this entire space was just an empty white space aside from the tree... But now... There’s actually grass and dirt that stretched for a good distance around the tree.

At the edge of the grass patch however, it did not turn into empty white space again but instead, it looked like it was actually paved ground made of stone.

I went over to inspect it and sure enough, these look like the type of stone ground that you might find outside in civilised areas.

I even went ahead to give it a rap with my knuckle to make sure that this was actually not an illusion and it definitely was material.

I turned back to the tree, figuring that this change came from the tree being filled with the life energy so I wondered what would happen if I were to give it a little more?

Earlier, I had my eyes closed so I didn’t manage to see all these changes which made me curious if I could actually see this inner space change if I were to watch myself fill the tree with energy?

I decided to test it out and went back to the tree to place my hand on it.

The instant my hand touched the bark, I felt a tingle go down my spine like an electrical current had passed through it.

The feeling quickly disappeared so I focused on trying to push my Qi into the tree while keeping my eyes open this time.

I was afraid that I might find it difficult to do since I’ve always needed to close my eyes but it seems like I’ve grown accustomed to it enough that I could now easily reach the same state even with my eyes open.

As I felt my energy flow into the tree, the change was immediate as the tree visibly start to grow even taller again.

At first, that was all that happened until there was a loud bang which made me jump in surprise coming from the side.

I just managed to catch sight of what looked like a building popping out from the ground from where the paved ground started.

The building’s design was definitely like the old chinese style of architecture where it had the four walls and the tiled, sloped triangular roof design above it. In the centre of the wall facing towards me was a double wooden door and on both sides were windows that had an intricate wooden lattice frame that had the spaces covered by what looked like thin, translucent white paper.

Incidentally... The walls were predominantly purple in colour which was kind of weird because I don’t think that was normal.

That’s definitely odd...

I went over to the building cautiously, not really knowing what to expect.

I then approached the door and slowly pushed it open, peeking inside to realise that the interior was actually lit up quite brightly so I stepped inside to inspect it.

It turns out that this was some kind of living space with the simple bed at the corner and a table that was meant to be the dining table taking up the middle of the room.

At the other corner was a study table but I see the distinct lack of a kitchen or a bathroom here.

Which made sense since those shouldn’t be housed in the same place as where the occupant would sleep.

Also, the walls inside were also purple as well.

I went over to the bed first to inspect it, seeing that it was just a simple wooden platform with a thin mattress on top.

But when I pressed my hand on top of it, I realised that the mattress was impossibly soft despite how thin it looked and I couldn’t help but jump onto the bed to lay down on it.

I felt myself sink in deeper than I thought I would, almost like the entire bed and the frame below it was also sinking in, yet looking around, it doesn’t even feel like I had moved.

But now I wonder... Why did such a building even show up?

Thinking about it... The tree kind of made sense since its life energy and having plants appear also kind of matched the theme so that was still understandable...

But then the paved road showed up and now there’s this building here that also popped out of nowhere with living space inside of it... Why is this even happening? What does this all mean? How does this connect to the god that my powers are related to?

So many questions, so little answers...

I looked at the window at where the tree was, standing firmly at where I had left it.

I suppose I might only get my answers after pouring even more life energy into the tree...

But in the meantime... I guess it’s back to work.
