Chapter 239: Thief

Once we left the Flame Wolf Mercenaries, we didn’t waste any time heading deeper into the valley.

But before we could go too deep though, Mu Bao Bao had something that she wanted to say.

"I’m hungry."

She had suddenly stopped moving and then sat down on a stump nearby before saying this out loud for everyone to hear.

When she stopped, we all had no choice but to stop.

I could only look at her with a bitter smile on my face, but it wasn’t as if she was wrong.

After fighting those wolves, it was already noon and it was time for lunch.

Mu Bao Bao was someone who lived by her instincts and if it was time for her to eat, she wouldn’t hesitate to do what she needed to do to get what she wanted.

That was just the kind of person Mu Bao Bao was.

So we stopped and set up to eat.

As for the food, it naturally came from me.

There wasn’t anything better than the things that I provided, so of course I was the one that brought out the food for everyone. As for where that food came from, it naturally came from my system’s daily shop.

Once I took out everything, Mu Bao Bao didn’t hesitate to start digging in.

"This was what I was waiting for!"

When she spoke, she even spoke with a full mouth which meant that she started spraying the juices from the fruit that she ate everywhere. That meant that the juice splashed all over her clothes.

Liu Ao Xue shook her head with a sigh before pulling out a napkin to help her wipe the juices off her clothes.

With her spiritual energy, she was actually able to pull out the juices from her clothes before they stained them.

While wiping her clothes and her mouth, she said, "Look at you, don’t you know how to act a bit more ladylike?"

Mu Bao Bao just ignored her, but she didn’t stop Liu Ao Xue from taking care of her.

It was clear that the relationship between the two of them had changed during this time.

It was most likely because of Murong Yan.

Because of how Mu Bao Bao acted around Murong Yan, it was almost like the two of them were being raised like sisters. The way that they were acting now was like two sisters who had grown up together.

Well, it was like an older sister and a younger sister.

The older sister took care of the younger sister...though this scene also made it seem like they were mother and daughter with how Liu Ao Xue took care of her.

Still, it was good to see that the relationship between the two of them was getting better.

It was much better than when they fought like cats and dogs like when they first met each other.

Since they were enjoying themselves, it seemed that I should also get a bite to eat.

I had spent a bit of energy raising those flames earlier, so I was a bit hungry.

I picked up one of the peaches that was on the picnic blanket and brought it up to my mouth to take a bite. 𝓯𝙧𝙚𝒆𝙬𝙚𝒃𝙣𝙤𝒗𝓮𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢

But before I could take a bite...

The peach suddenly disappeared from my hand and I bit into thin air.

It hurt my teeth a bit to bite into nothing like this, but I was a cultivator now. My teeth were much harder than before, so it wasn’t as if it really hurt me that much.

But that didn’t excuse the fact that the peach had suddenly disappeared.

I narrowed my eyes and looked at the obvious culprit, but that culprit didn’t seem to be the one that was responsible for it.

She was currently eating a large melon that was much bigger than her face.

It didn’t seem like Mu Bao Bao was in any mood to steal food from me.

So who had been the one that had done it?

I looked around with a confused look until there was a drop of something that fell onto my head.

After that drop of liquid fell onto my head, it felt like there was something sticky that was on me.

I reached up to touch it and then brought it down to my nose for a sniff.

Sweet.

This liquid was sweet and it smelled like peach.

It was clearly juice from the peach that I had been about to bite into.

So whoever had taken the peach from me was clearly above me.

I quickly looked up at the trees above me, but the foliage hid whoever it was for a bit until I finally saw them as another drop fell down. I moved out of the way just in time to see the culprit.

It was a little monkey who was holding the peach in both hands as it bit into it.

The look on its face made it clear that it was enjoying itself.

And with how small it was, there was no doubt that this was a cute little monkey.

But that didn’t excuse the fact that it stole from me.

So I moved over to the trunk of the tree and suddenly kicked it so that the entire tree started to shake.

The force behind this kick wasn’t small since I had already broken through to the Core Formation Realm.

It almost seemed like the tree would snap in half, but I made sure to control the kick so that it wouldn’t happen.

The monkey was shocked by this sudden shaking of the tree, but it didn’t fall out of the tree like I thought would happen. Instead, the monkey jumped from branch to branch of the swinging tree before the tree finally stopped shaking.

The way that it moved...it was faster than my eyes could keep up with.

When it was over, the monkey looked down at me before turning around to smack its butt as if it was taunting me.

There was a cold look that appeared on my face when I saw this before I said, "Mu Bao Bao."

She suddenly stood at attention when she heard me say this before looking at me with a confused look.

I pointed at the monkey and said, "It’s stolen our food."

That was all that I needed to say.
