Wasting Money to Become an Immortal-Chapter 238: Repay the young master
Once they had accepted to take the wolves, it didn’t take the Flame Wolf Mercenaries any time at all to pair up with the wolves that were offered to them.
The wolves looked unwilling, like they wanted to stay by Lin Fan’s side.
However, he didn’t seem to care as he ordered them to pair up with the Flame Wolf Mercenaries.
It was only when I promised that I would go and see them in the future that the wolves calmed down and went to pair with the mercenaries. However, the way that they did it was almost as if they were accepting the job of babysitting these humans.
It didn’t seem like there was a two sided relationship between them, it seemed like a one sided relationship where they both thought that they were taking care of each other.
The most interesting pairing was between the wolf with the bloody muzzle and the one that it had almost ripped in half with its teeth.
This was one that I wasn’t certain about and had even agreed to change, but the two of them seemed to insist on going with this pairing even if there wasn’t a need for it.
With the way that they looked at each other, it almost seemed like they wanted to make each other submit.
While this didn’t seem like a healthy pairing, I accepted it in the end since both the leader of the wolf pack and Lu Shu told me to accept this. It was as if they could see something that I couldn’t between the two of them.
They were the leaders of the two groups, so naturally they were able to see things that I wasn’t able to see with their members.
I just left this matter to them.
As for their partners, naturally they were partnered with each other.
They were the leaders of the two groups, so it was only natural that they would be each other’s partner.
There was no bond between the two of them, but there was at least a respect for each other as the leaders of each other’s groups.
That would be enough for them to work together.
When they had finished pairing up, they planned on leaving the Myriad Beast Valley.
With the money that I gave them, there was no need for them to remain in this place any longer to hunt more spirit beasts.
They would rather head back and start setting up everything that they needed to take care of the wolves that they had been given. At the same time, they wanted to raise their prestige wolf cavalry to reach their goal sooner.
But before they left...
The red haired girl came over to where we were.
When everything had settled, that was when I had finally learned her name.
Yuan Qing.
That was her name.
She came up to me alone and said, "Thank you for saving me and helping my comrades."
I just waved my hand with a smile before saying, "You don’t have to thank me. We were just passing by the area."
Yuan Qing took a step forward and looked like she wanted to say something else, but then she couldn’t help stumbling back. It was as if there was something that had suddenly scared her.
When I looked around, I didn’t see anything.
Then when I turned back, Yuan Qing just said with this smile that had a trace of bitterness in it, "I still have to thank you young master."
I didn’t really understand why she was looking like this, but I gave a simple nod without saying anything before turning around.
Once we left, Lu Shu came forward to pat Yuan Qing on the shoulder before saying, "Let it go, he’s not someone from our world."
But when Yuan Qing turned to look at him, she said with sparkling eyes, "Big Brother Lu, let’s do all that we can to repay the young master for his kindness."
Lu Shu was caught off guard seeing this, but he still gave a nod of agreement.
That was right, the young master was the one that had given them the means to continue their dreams. The only thing that they could do now was take what he had given them and make sure that they could repay him in the future.
If the young master was ever in danger in the future...
They would be there as his greatest supporters.
No matter what happened they would be there to help Lin Fan, even if it meant risking their lives.
Lu Shu knew that this was the only way that they could make sure that the young master wouldn’t forget them.
Lin Fan was a very special person and there was nothing to lose from following him.
But what he didn’t know was that Yuan Qing had an idea that was far more radical than his own.
She did have the same idea of wanting to do their best to help Lin Fan, but there was another reason why she wanted to do all of this.
After all, she knew what kind of women were by his side.
This young master who had saved her was like a shining star that she couldn’t reach, which was why she wanted to reach it even more.
It was just that to reach his side, there was a lot that she would need to do.
She would need to make herself someone that could stand by his side.
That could only be accomplished by doing something that would make her a valuable resource to him.
As such, Yuan Qing was planning on developing the Flame Wolf Mercenaries until it was a valuable resource to the young master.
Lu Shu was her childhood friend, so he naturally knew what she was thinking.
He felt a bit sad because there were his own feelings for her, but...this was also his dream.
So it wasn’t as if he would sabotage it just because of this.
He would make sure that their Flame Wolf Mercenaries would become strong enough to repay the young master.
