Chapter 217: War God

"Hidden ruins?" Liu Ao Xue said before running over as well.

She peeked her head into the portal along with Mu Bao Bao and said in a shocked voice, "There really is a hidden ruins here!"

The lackeys were confused since they didn’t know what hidden ruins were, but they could tell that whatever they were, they were not normal since this was the reaction from Mu Bao Bao and Liu Ao Xue.

Since that was the case, they all came forward to take a peek as well.

But before any of them could react, I suddenly pushed everyone from behind so that they went through the portal before going through myself.

After going through, I turned around to see that the portal was still there behind us, but it had turned dim.

It seemed like it had deactivated since there was no one currently using it.

Though whether it could be used again...that was still to be seen.

During this, the others had cast a bitter look at me as if they were unhappy with what I had done, but then they started looking around the area as if they were trying to find something.

There wasn’t anything specific that they were looking for, they were just looking around to see if there was anything special about this place.

At the same time, they were making sure that there wasn’t anything dangerous around here.

Once I made sure that the portal was still there, I started looking around this place again.

When I looked around, I found that this place wasn’t as big as I thought it was when I first poked my head through the portal. It turned out that this place only had a few trees and past those trees, I could see the edge of this small world.

It seemed that this was just a small place carved in space that had boundaries and beyond those boundaries, it seemed like there was only the vast emptiness of space. It was almost as if this place was carved out of the void itself.

But considering that we were on the Void Battlefield, that wasn’t that strange.

The only other thing that caught my eyes was a path that was in the trees.

I hadn’t noticed it earlier since I had been shocked by the fact that there was a forest here, but now I was able to see it since it stuck out like a sore thumb. After all, it was the only path that was in the trees all around us, so it was quite hard to miss...

Seeing this path, I started heading towards it, but...

The lackeys immediately came forward and said, "Young master, leave this to us."

Even though in terms of strength, they were much weaker than Lin Fan, at least they were loyal.

However, I still stopped them since there was no point in letting them go forward.

Even if I had been giving them pills and elixirs to make them stronger, they were still only in the Peak Foundation Realm.

Their speed of cultivation was shocking compared to normal cultivators, but they still couldn’t keep up to me. They were honestly too weak to even come into this Void Battlefield and they had only been allowed to come because the Central Sect Alliance thought I was from an upper realm.

They were afraid to say no to me.

But to let them lead the way was a bit too much since they wouldn’t be able to stop anything that came at us.

At the same time, if there really was something that came at us, they would be in danger.

I couldn’t be certain that I would be able to protect them if something really happened, so I couldn’t just feel assured in letting them take the point.

So I just said, "No, that’s not your job. Go to the back and watch our flank."

The moment that the lackeys heard this, there was a disappointed and surprised look that appeared on their faces.

They could understand why I was asking them to watch the flank, which was why they were disappointed.

It seemed for a moment like they wanted to say something, but in the end...they just accepted it.

Though there was a frustrated look that was on their faces as they moved to the back. 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝕨𝕖𝗯𝚗𝚘𝕧𝕖𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝕞

Instead, Mu Bao Bao took the lead without anyone asking her.

Rather, it seemed like even if anyone tried to say anything, they wouldn’t be able to stop her.

She looked like she was here having fun rather than exploring a dangerous place.

Liu Ao Xue gave a sigh before following behind her, as if she was looking after Mu Bao Bao. Though in terms of strength, Mu Bao Bao should be the strongest one here since she had the highest realm of cultivation.

It actually made sense that she led the way.

In the middle was me who watched all of this with a smile on my face and bringing up the rear were the lackeys who had frustrated looks.

This place wasn’t that big, so it didn’t take long for us to reach the end of the path.

Before reaching the end though...we heard a loud voice come from in front of us.

It was Mu Bao Bao who had run off ahead of everyone else.

"What is this?!"

The shock in her voice was clear, so we quickly headed forward to see what she was talking about.

Once we moved past the trees, we saw the thing that she was shocked by.

It was a large stone building that was in the center of this new clearing.

This wasn’t an impressive looking building, it even seemed like it was completely abandoned with the moss and mold that was growing on it.

However, there was this strange feeling that was coming from this building.

It was a sensation of oppression.

There was no doubt that there was something powerful in here that was causing this.

When I looked again, I found the entrance and by that entrance was a plaque that seemed to be resistant to the wear and tear of time.

"Tomb of the War God."
