Chapter 216: Hidden ruins

Everyone looked at Liu Ao Xue with surprised looks when they heard her say this, but she didn’t care at all as she stared at the archway that had suddenly appeared.

After staring at the archway for a bit, she turned to look at me with a questioning look as if she was asking me what this thing was.

The only response that I could give her was a shrug since I had no idea what this thing was either. The only thing that I knew about this archway was that the system had led me here for some reason.

As for what that reason was...

Well, I had no idea at all since the system wasn’t willing to tell me anything.

So the only thing that I could do was go into the archway to see what was hidden behind it.

But before that...

I looked at the others and waved my hand for them to come over.

They hesitated for a few seconds as they looked at Liu Ao Xue who was still staring at the archway in a daze. After looking at her for a bit, they came over to where I was like she did.

The moment that they came over, they had the same shocked look on their faces.

After all, they had come close enough to see the archway as well.

When the archway appeared in front of them, all of them asked, "What is this?"

I didn’t answer just like with Liu Ao Xue, but she had a faint smile on her face from seeing them act this way. The way that she looked at them was as if she found their reactions funny, even though she had the same reaction just now.

It really was the pot calling the kettle black.

I gave them a few minutes to come back to their senses before saying, "Alright, it’s time to go in."

The moment that they heard this, everyone looked at me in shock.

However, they also quickly came back from that dazed state so that they could move forward to stand between me and the archway.

Gao Fu Shuai even went as far as coming right up in front of me and holding his hands out to push against me to stop me from moving forward as he said, "Wait, wait, wait, young master, why are you heading in like it’s nothing? Let’s calm down and analyze this first."

I just shook my head and said, "It’s better to strike while the iron is hot. There’s no time to waste."

Though in reality, I just wanted to go in and get this over as soon as possible so I could leave this Void Battlefield.

My senses were telling me that there was something bigger that was happening on this Void Battlefield and I didn’t want to get involved, so I just wanted to finish the system mission as soon as possible and get out of here.

All of the lackeys had bitter smiles on their faces when they saw me like this.

They were the ones that followed me around usually, so they knew what kind of personality I had.

They knew that once I was set on something, I wouldn’t back down on it.

So they knew that there was no choice but to follow me into the archway.

Liu Ao Xue and Mu Bao Bao on the other hand...had already basically given up.

There was even a slightly excited look on their face as they stood there in front of me, almost as if they were expecting something.

It seemed like they were almost excited to go into this archway. 𝘧𝓇𝑒𝑒𝑤ℯ𝑏𝓃𝘰𝑣ℯ𝘭.𝘤ℴ𝘮

This was a part of their personality that I didn’t know about...or at least Liu Ao Xue’s personality. I was already expecting this from Mu Bao Bao since I knew that she was someone who liked to cause trouble.

But still, since they were willing to go in, it wasn’t as if I had any reason to stop them.

This was actually to my benefit since it made it easier for me to convince them.

Seeing this, the lackeys had no choice but to give up as well.

They knew that it would be impossible for them to stop the young master once he was like this, so the only thing that they could do was go along with him and make sure that he didn’t go overboard.

That was the only thing that they could do at this point.

Since everyone agreed to it, I led the way into the archway.

The moment that I stepped through, there was a light that came from the stones that made up the archway. This light gathered in the stones of the archway until it was suddenly released and formed a portal of light around me.

When this portal of light formed, I could feel something pulling me.

It was as if it was pulling me out of the space that I was currently standing in.

And in no time at all, I saw that there was something else in front of me.

What had been there before disappeared and soon it was replaced by what seemed to be...a forest.

There were a bunch of trees that were in front of me that shouldn’t have been in a place like this, but there they were in front of me.

I turned back and I saw the same Void Battlefield that was devoid of anything, but there in front of me was this forest.

It seemed that this portal led to some kind of special place, but I had no idea what this special place was.

Seeing that I was just standing there in the portal, Mu Bao Bao couldn’t take it anymore as she came forward and pushed me aside to take a look at what was behind the portal.

When she poked her head through, she was surprised by what she saw before saying, "It’s actually a hidden ruins! Why is there a hidden ruins in a place like this?"
