Wasting Money to Become an Immortal-Chapter 144: Alchemy competition
It was clear that neither of them seemed like they liked this idea.
It seemed like both of them still had some complicated feelings about the other side after what had happened earlier.
But since it was Murong Yan who was suggesting this, it didn’t seem like they were able to reject her.
For some reason, it seemed like both of them wanted to make her happy...
Was this the power of a mother?
Murong Yan could naturally see what they were feeling, so she said with a smile, "You don’t always have to get along to be sisters. Fighting is a part of what being sisters is, so you don’t have to worry about fighting with each other."
That smile disappeared as she revealed a more emotional look on her face and said, "You don’t always have to get along, but it’s always good to have someone who is there for you."
Both of them looked at each other again with complicated looks, but both of them eventually nodded in agreement.
Murong Yan revealed another smile before saying, "You remind me of me and my sister..."
Liu Ao Xue was surprised to hear this as she asked, "Mom, you had a sister? Why did I never know about this?"
Murong Yan jolted like she suddenly realized what she had said before shaking her head and saying, "That’s a complicated matter, let’s talk about this another time."
Though she said this, it was clear that she wasn’t planning on talking about this at all.
Liu Ao Xue looked at her mother with a complicated look when she heard this, but she didn’t ask anything else.
She trusted that since her mother didn’t want to talk about this, she must have her reason for not talking about this. So she should just accept that her mother didn’t want to talk about it and support her.
Mu Bao Bao just awkwardly patted Murong Yan’s hand since she didn’t know what was happening.
"Honey..." Liu Han said in a heavy voice when he saw this.
There was an awkward silence that hung in the air because of this, but that was quickly blown away by the arrival of the Great Elder, Yao Fu.
When he walked into the courtyard, he could tell that something was off, so he asked, "What’s going on here?"
Everyone immediately recovered after he said this and Murong Yan just answered, "Nothing."
Yao Fu had a look on his face that made it clear that he was doubtful of this, but he didn’t ask anything else since he knew that there must have been a reason for that awkward mood just now.
Instead, his eyes suddenly narrowed as he looked at Mu Bao Bao.
He hadn’t noticed her when he first walked in, but he couldn’t miss her since the aura that she released...was from the same realm as him. However, he could also tell that she was even stronger than he was.
If they were to fight, he wasn’t confident that he would be able to win against her.
The elders didn’t mind the way that Yao Fu looked at Mu Bao Bao and instead came forward to complain, "Great Elder, where have you been all this time?"
Yao Fu didn’t answer any of their complaints as he just asked, "What’s going on here? Who is that?" He pointed at Mu Bao Bao when he asked this.
The elders didn’t even need to look in the direction that Yao Fu was pointing in to know what he was referring to.
So one of them came forward and whispered a few things into Yao Fu’s ears.
When they were done, Yao Fu turned to look at me with a strange look.
I wasn’t surprised to see him looking at me like this, so the only thing that I could do was reveal an awkward look.
It wasn’t as if I could just explain to him what the situation was, right?
Yao Fu just kept looking at me like this for a bit before he suddenly stopped when Mu Bao Bao narrowed her eyes to look at him.
He could feel the pressure that was coming from her, so he immediately stopped.
He didn’t know what was happening, but it seemed like she was protective of Lin Fan...Not just an ordinary level of protective towards him.
There was a part of him that thought...
"He’s already cheating on our Xue’er?!" 𝗳𝗿𝐞𝕖𝘄𝗲𝕓𝗻𝚘𝚟𝕖𝐥.𝚌𝕠𝕞
But he held himself back in the end.
Giving a cough to calm himself down, Yao Fu said, "I was receiving a message from the Central Sect Alliance."
The moment that the Central Sect Alliance was mentioned, everyone immediately calmed down and listened to Yao Fu seriously. After all, a matter that involves the Central Sect Alliance was not a simple matter.
There was no reason for the Central Sect Alliance to contact them unless it was something serious.
Seeing that he had their attention, Yao Fu took a deep breath and said, "They’ve contacted us about an alchemy tournament."
"Alchemy tournament?" The elders repeated in a confused voice.
Yao Fu gave a nod before saying, "They want to hold an alchemy tournament for the younger generation in a bit."
After saying this, he turned to look at one of the elders in the crowd.
This elder was the elder in charge of the Alchemy Hall, Elder Wang.
Looking at Elder Wang, Yao Fu said, "Elder Wang, you’re the one that’s in charge of the alchemist of our sect, so I wanted to see who you would recommend for this alchemy tournament."
Elder Wang gave a nod of understanding when he heard this since he understood why Yao Fu came looking for him, but there was a part of him that was still confused as he asked, "Why would they suddenly hold an alchemy tournament at this time."
Yao Fu didn’t seem to find this question dumb as he could understand what the true meaning behind it was.
But during all of this, I couldn’t help revealing a surprised look since there was a notification that came from the system.
