Wasting Money to Become an Immortal-Chapter 139: Who is she?

"You should get off already." I said to Mu Bao Bao who was still hanging onto my back.

But she didn’t get off as she said, "We said that I would stay here until we reached the sect and we’re not at the sect yet."

I gave a sigh when I heard this.

This was an argument that a child would use, but Mu Bao Bao used it without any hesitation.

There really wasn’t anything that I could say about this since I knew what it would be like to try and argue with kids.

Instead, I just said, "Remember to keep your word."

She just nodded with a happy smile from my back.

The one fear that I had was what would happen if Liu Ao Xue were to see this.

I had already seen a bit of her dark side when we brought Jiang Yu Ning back earlier, I certainly didn’t want to see it again.

All I could hope was that I could bring Mu Bao Bao into the sect and calm her down before Liu Ao Xue saw anything.

How wrong I was...

I had even made sure to have Elder Tian land far from the sect so we could go on foot and we were moving carefully almost as if we were sneaking around like thieves, but...it still didn’t matter.

"Welcome back."

This voice suddenly came from behind us before we could even reach the gates of the sect.

I was completely caught off guard since I immediately recognized this voice, but I never thought that it would come from behind us like this.

I could feel Mu Bao Bao tensing when she heard this and she seemed like she wanted to attack, but I quickly grabbed her hand and shook my head at her. After that, I turned around to look at Liu Ao Xue standing there with her hands crossed who also had a stern look on her face.

It was clear that she was unhappy about something...

I said to Mu Bao Bao, "We’re here, it’s time to let go."

Mu Bao Bao seemed like she wanted to say something, but she could hear the serious tone in my voice. So in the end, she let go of my neck and got off my back, but there was an unhappy look on her face as she did so.

Once she was off, I looked at Liu Ao Xue and said with an awkward smile, "Master, what are you doing here?"

She looked at me with a smile that didn’t reach her eyes as she said, "This is the Falling Star Sect and I’m the sect master. Am I not supposed to be here?"

I quickly shook my head before saying, "Of course not." Then after a pause, I said, "But master, what are you doing all the way out here? Why are you waiting outside of the sect like this?"

Liu Ao Xue said with the same smile, "Because I want to. Can I not do what I want in my own sect?"

A bitter smile crept on my lips when I heard this, but I still quickly shook my head and said, "Of course not. You can do whatever you want, master. You are the sect master of the Falling Star Sect after all."

Liu Ao Xue didn’t respond to this and instead narrowed her eyes to look at Mu Bao Bao.

When Mu Bao Bao saw Liu Ao Xue looking at her with these narrowed eyes, she suddenly bared her teeth like it was some kind of instinctive reaction. It was like this was her instinctive reaction to hostility.

I had to quickly raise my hand to stop her from doing anything.

After a moment of silence, Liu Ao Xue said, "It seems like you’ve brought a stray home with you."

The tone that she said this in was clearly filled with hostility.

This just made Mu Bao Bao bare her teeth again.

I shook my head and gave a sigh before raising my hand to stop her.

Liu Ao Xue saw the way that Mu Bao Bao calmed down when I stopped her, so she stopped beating around the bush and asked, "Who is she?"

I trembled when I heard this as I could hear the coldness in her voice as she said this.

There was another bitter smile that appeared on my face, but I quickly raised my hands and said, "Master, this isn’t what you think. If you just give me the chance to explain..."

Liu Ao Xue cut me off by saying, "You already know what I said I would do if you did something like this, right?"

The bitter smile on my face became even more bitter when I heard this.

Mu Bao Bao no longer held back when she heard this and she released her aura.

There was a surprised look that appeared on Liu Ao Xue’s face when she felt this aura, but there was nothing that happened as I quickly said to Mu Bao Bao, "If you keep acting up, I’ll give you plain rice for three days."

Mu Bao Bao was shocked to hear this, but she quickly put her aura away.

It seemed that I hadn’t been feeding her for nothing over the past few days.

It seemed that taming her with food really was effective.

Liu Ao Xue took a moment to gather her cool before she suddenly came forward.

There was a part of me that wanted to move back when I saw her approaching me, but I stopped myself from following that instinct. I knew that the moment that I took a step back, it would just make things worse for me.

So I just stood there as she came over and grabbed me by the collar.

Without waiting for a response from me, she started pulling me into the sect as she said, "We need to talk in private."

Mu Bao Bao looked like she wanted to do something to stop Liu Ao Xue, but I shook my head at her to stop her.

I just let Liu Ao Xue drag me into the sect.
