Warm Married Life: Mr. President Loves His Darling Wife-Chapter 247 - 246: So Annoyed, But Still Have to Agree
That feeling when everyone else knows but you’re the one kept in the dark is honestly quite unpleasant.
Besides, Bella Acker really wants to be independent, wants to prove herself with her own capabilities, rather than continue relying on others.
Director Ford took a puff from the butt of a cigarette before tossing it to the ground, stamping it out with his foot, and continued, "What you should be doing now is interpreting the role of Hera well, instead of being hung up on why you got the role. If this role wasn’t won through your own efforts, would you not want to perform it?"
"No." Bella Acker shook her head resolutely. She liked acting and worked hard to study acting techniques, and certainly wouldn’t easily give up on a hard-won opportunity.
"Then why did you come to me?" Director Ford looked at her.
Bella Acker didn’t flinch, and spoke plainly, "I just wanted to know the answer."
"Alright, I’ll tell you the answer," Director Ford said, "The role of Hera is one you won through auditioning. If you can’t stand the gossip, then interpret Hera well and use your talent to slap them back. At that point, those who can only hide and envy you will naturally have nothing to say."
"I understand, thank you, Director Ford." Bella Acker sighed in relief, smiled, bowed to Director Ford, and said, "Director Ford, I’ll go get my makeup done."
"Bella, one more thing." Director Ford stopped her, "In the films I direct, as long as it’s an important role, no amount of background will work without acting skill."
Does this mean Director Ford has always affirmed her acting skills?
Bella Acker’s eyes brightened suddenly, "Thank you for the encouragement, Director Ford, I’ll work even harder." With that, she happily went off for makeup.
Director Ford watched her back for a while, then snorted, pulled out his phone and made a call.
The phone rang twice before it was answered, and a cold voice on the other end said, "I’m driving, keep it short."
Director Ford rolled his eyes, fished out another cigarette from his bag, lit it, and said, "You were right, Bella came asking why she got the role of Hera. I’ve followed your instructions and didn’t reveal the truth to her."
"Hmm, thanks." Damian Sinclair thanked from the other end, but his tone remained cold, without really sounding sincere nor dismissive.
"President Sinclair, some people want to be eternally remembered without doing good deeds, and you’ve done good deeds without wanting your name remembered, what’s the point?" Director Ford expressed his complete incomprehension of what these elite heirs think about all day.
"Why make a fuss about helping your own wife?" Damian Sinclair said calmly.
"Of course you should. Otherwise, how do you move her, get her to give you her love!"
"That’s why we’re different."
Why did he feel a hint of disdain from those words?
Director Ford snorted, and said, "And did you take care of what I asked you to handle?"
"Hmm." Damian Sinclair said, "I’ll send the address to your phone shortly. One more thing."
"What is it?" Director Ford took a deep drag on his cigarette, thinking, don’t assume just because you’re the boss I need to go along with everything, if I’m unhappy, I’m not doing a thing for you.
"Give my wife two days off on December 1st."
"Another break?" Director Ford frowned. He doesn’t like dragging things out when filming, anything that can be done in three months should definitely not stretch to three months and a day. If actors in the crew always ask for leave, it will inevitably delay the shooting progress.
"It’s not asking for leave, it’s granting a break." Damian Sinclair calmly emphasized.
"There’s not that much leave, not granting it!"
"You don’t want the address?" Damian Sinclair asked.
The previously defiant Director Ford: "..." So infuriating, but he had to agree anyway.
