Very soon, Grey felt the qi in his Eleventh Level begin to churn, slow at first, like a pot about to boil. Then the pressure spiked. Violently. His meridians tightened, spirit energy surging upward as if something deep inside him had finally stopped sleeping.

Grey clenched his fists as the world around him dimmed. His breathing went ragged. The air thickened, spirit energy condensing to the point he could taste it on his tongue. His entire existence felt like it was being pulled upward by an invisible hook.
And as that pressure mounted,
as every drop of qi in his body spiraled, condensed, and clawed its way toward a single point...
Grey understood something terrifyingly simple:
All he had to do was push. One step. One breath. One decision. Cross it... or shatter.
A moment later, muffled booming sounds erupted from his body. Those booming sounds were so strong that Grey’s body shuddered intensely. Sweat broke out all over his body as even more black goo seeped out from the pores of his skin. The cracks that had opened on his skin widened even more as black goo with a very pungent smell wafted out.
At the same time this was happening, Grey felt the quality of his spirit energy increase as well. The corrosive substance that seeped into his body when the influx of spirit energy appeared were further devoured by Grey’s shadow which had by now turned completely pitch black.
If one observed closely, they would see that Grey’s shadow was a bit more elongated and darker than normal. Also, the direction the shadow was looking was different from the direction that Grey was actually staring at. While Grey was facing Roxanne, his shadow was facing him. Sitting down cross-legged and staring at him with a cold and gloomy temperament. As more corrosive substance entered Grey’s body, it’s eyes burned with a strange glint that Grey would find familiar. If Grey could see it, he would be shocked because his shadow gazed at him with utmost detest and hatred. And as more corrosive substance was devoured by it, that conviction became even more steady.
However, Grey’s mind was deep within his body, trying to successfully breakthrough to the Foundation Establishment realm without any casualties.
When his soul was actually beginning to be possessed by the Foundation Establishment expert, he could do nothing to resist, partly because his level of cultivation had dropped drastically and the most power that he could summon at that time was only in the Fifth level of Qi Accumulation.
But after they fought and he defeated the Foundation Establishment expert, the soul essence that belonged to the Foundation Establishment realm cultivator was dispersed and later absorbed by his weakened soul. Later on, those soul essence was used to heal and repair his weakened soul, that was why he fell unconscious after his battle. To him, several weeks had passed, but in reality, only a couple of hours had passed by since he battled the Foundation Establishment expert.
As the Soul pill entered his mouth, Grey returned back to his mind and the open metaphysical barrier before him. Now that he had broken through to the Foundation Establishment realm, his body needed enough spirit energy for him to consolidate. And after taking the soul pill, it didn’t melt and dissolve in his mouth like pills normally did, instead, the pill traveled down to his stomach, and Grey felt his insides begin to heat up. His body suddenly became bare to him and he could faintly begin to sense some nodes all over his body.
Wherever that heat passed, Grey could feel a small node in that part of his body, and he instantly knew that they were the spirit perforations that Foundation Establishment realm cultivators opened.
’What is a "spirit perforation"’ Grey asked himself inwardly, and the saying he had read from a Jade slip came into his mind.
"In the Qi Accumulation realm, the earlier stage of cultivation, a cultivator builds their spirit sea and accumulates spirit energy. "
