Villain's Survival: SSS Class Infinite Copy Eyes-Chapter 29. Hate
Chapter 29: 29. Hate
Your Trait「A Valtier’s Pride (S)」has been activated.
Licht froze.
The gentle, comforting words he wanted to say simply wouldn’t come out.
Good. Just perfect.
Licht clenched his jaw in frustration
This cursed trait was here again, always interfering!
A girl had just tried to end her life in front of him, and the system still wouldn’t allow him to offer a shred of compassion.
What the hell is the difference between me and the soul of that dragon? We’re both bound by the same cursed chains.
’Fine,’ Licht thought bitterly.
’If I can’t comfort her... I’ll push her forward another way.’
Charlotte blinked, confused.
"Licht...?" she asked softly, watching his trembling form.
She didn’t know what he was thinking.
But something told her... maybe, just maybe... he cared.
Then—
"How weak."
"...Huh?"
"What are you saying, Licht?" asked Charlotte
"I said-" As Licht repeated himself, he stood up, brushing the dirt off his torn uniform,
"You’re weak, Miss Valemont. At the very least, you’re far weaker than your brother."
Now standing, Licht towered over Charlotte, his cold, piercing eyes pressing down on her like a mountain
"You’re not just physically weak but mentally."
"Your brother, for all his flaws, never once gave up. He didn’t care about revenge or justice, but he kept living. He endured."
"But you?" Licht sneered.
"You gave up on your revenge and then you went and gave up on your life."
"It’s not just weak—it’s pathetic."
Charlotte’s expression cracked, her lips now trembling
"I... I’m not my brother," she muttered.
"I’m not talented and I can’t kill you either. I have nothing."
"So let me die." Charlotte’s voice finally broke.
"Let me die so you can mock me on my grave too..."
Tears spilt down her cheeks uncontrollably as she collapsed to her knees, clutching at Licht’s leg, begging for him to let her existence of revenge and hatred end.
Licht looked down at her.
he lowered his hand to her chin, tilting her face up to get a clearer look
"You don’t get to die," Licht said coldly.
"I won’t allow it."
Charlotte’s eyes widened.
"Why?!" she asked, an uncontrollable emotion now bubbling in her chest
"I can’t kill you, and if I can’t even do that then I see no point in living! So what’s the point?!"
Without a word, Licht’s hand snapped from Charlotte’s chin to her neck, clenching around it like a vicious viper just tight enough to make sure each breath barely passed through her throat.
"Do you think revenge is just a game?"
"You dragged me into your nonsense. On the greatest stage in the world, you put everything I had at risk and forced my hand, but now you failed, and it’s all over you think you can just end it all here and run away? "
"Don’t mess with me, Charlotte"
In that moment, Licht’s voice felt colder than the abyss. Each syllable he uttered sent a chilling feeling down her spine
"If this is the full weight of your hatred... if this is all your revenge amounts to... then suffer."
"Suffer, and writhe until the day comes when I decide you can finally die."
At this moment, it was as if Licht had torn off his mask.
Any pitiful delusions Charlotte had about Licht saving her life during her moment of weakness had been completely shattered
’Can he even hear himself?’ thought Charlotte
Stunned, she just stared up at Licht in shock. She wanted to say something, but Licht’s hand around her neck refused to allow any words to come out
The one thing she could do was look, and so she did
She looked up at the face of the young man who had started her hate-filled journey, and then she saw it again.
’Ah....That look.’
’That wretched, purple gaze.’
Unexpectedly, even after all Licht’s complaints, the look in his eyes at that moment wasn’t hate. It wasn’t rage,
Boredom
As Charlotte stared helplessly into Licht’s eyes, what looked back at her was just a look of bored, lacklustre interest.
Charlotte felt as if her mind was cracking.
Despite living her entire life just to kill this man, Licht didn’t even see her as a person.
She was just a minor distraction. A funny little insect squirming at his feet.
That look in Licht’s eyes—it was the same expression he wore when he drove her family to ruin. When her brother begged for help, for mercy, and none came, Licht looked just like that and...
’He enjoyed it.’
He watched everything unfold from above, like a bored child playing around with a set of interesting toys.
"I hate him..."
The thought repeated constantly in Charlotte’s mind like a curse.
I HATE HIM!
Why can’t I kill him?! Why am I so weak?!
"I’ll kill you..."
The words slipped out from Charlotte’s lips, so faint they barely reached the air.
Licht’s eyes narrowed.
"...What did you just say?" he asked.
But his voice was already drowned beneath the maddening whispers
"I’ll kill you."
"I’ll kill you."
"I’ll kill you."
Her tone grew from a whisper, to a growl, then to a chant, and finally...
A vow
"I’ll tear you apart. Piece by piece. Inch by inch."
"I’ll feed your flesh to dogs and rats and let them gnaw your eyes out."
"I’ll crush your bones, grind them into dust, scatter you to the wind."
Her eyes blazed, her body trembling with unmatched fury
"I’ll rip out your soul. Trap it and Torture it forever"
She laughed a sharp, broken laugh.
"I’ll make sure you beg for an end, and when the reaper comes calling, when you beg me to end it all, I’ll say no."
