Villainess X Villain: They are obsessed with each other!-Chapter 68 -: 67 Rosalina is kind?
"So what I was—"
"Who the fuck are you?!" someone in the crowd shouted, cutting him off mid-sentence.
"Pop!"
A thick vein bulged on the masked man’s forehead under the creepy white mask.
He clenched his fists.
"Man, these NPCs... asking the same damn question since the start!" he rubbed his temple in irritation!
He raised his voice, loud and dangerous.
"You interrupt me one more time and I swear to god, the next person to die will be YOU!"
The entire auditorium went dead silent.
No one dared speak.
Some students quickly looked away, avoiding his empty black eye holes.
Others stared at the ground, hearts pounding. The air felt thick with fear.
The masked man let out a long, relieved sigh.
"Finally... quiet," he muttered.
He turned back to Rosalina, tilting his head like he was sizing up a toy.
"So, as I was saying... hahahaha!"
His laugh echoed, creepy and high-pitched.
"Today I’m here to kill you all. Especially you, Rosalina Valentina! Our top target. I must kill—"
He paused.
His masked face turned toward her fully. He stroked his chin slowly, like he was thinking hard.
"Now that I look at you... you aren’t half bad."
"You’re already so powerful at such a young age? And most importantly you are the most beautiful, genius, smart, one-in-a-billion girl. Nice... very nice."
Rosalina didn’t move. She didn’t blink. Her face stayed cold and calm, like ice that wouldn’t melt.
"...." But the surroundings stared at him dumbfoundedly.
The masked man grinned wider under the mask.
"So let me extend an offer to you."
He reached out one gloved hand toward her.
"If you want to live... kill them all."
The crowd gasped.
"What?!"
"No... she wouldn’t do that, right? Right?!"
"Mom, I’m not coming home!"
"Spare me, oh great lord!"
People started crying, begging, dropping to their knees.
Some grabbed each other in panic. The fear turned into pure chaos again.
But Rosalina stayed perfectly still.
Then she spoke, soft, clear, and deadly.
"Mary."
The moment the name left her lips, a beautiful sword appeared in her hand out of thin air.
Its blade gleamed silver and red, humming with power.
Everyone knew this was her famous weapon, Mary.
She pointed it straight at the masked man’s chest.
Her chin lifted high, eyes sharp like knives.
"Who do you think you are?"
"I can defeat you without even breaking a sweat."
The masked man stared at her for a second.
Then he let out another creepy laugh.
"Hehehe... so this is your answer, huh?"
He lowered his hand slowly.
"Very well then. If you’re so eager to die...for these peasants then there’s no choice, is there?"
He giggled to himself looking at Rosalina with ecstasy in his eyes.
"Watch your tongue," Rosalina snapped, "they are peasants but you don’t have the right to call them that."
Rosalina paused, lifting her chin and nose high at the sky as she continued, "only, I, Rosalina Velentina, who promised to protect everyone I acknowledged as peasant, can call them that."
"Hehehe..." The masked man gave a mocking chuckle, however the surrounding crowd was literally crying.
"She.... I...didn’t know she was calling us peasants so that she could protect us...sniff."
"Mom, she is a goddess...sniff."
"She is still arrogant but she is pure of heart..."
The masked man looked around and nodded to himself.
"It seems, they didn’t know your true kind nature....you really hid it well..." the masked man’s grin spread even more wickedly.
"However," he continued, "all of these things ends now!"
He raised both hands high.
The air around him started to shake.
"Infinite Cast: Earthquake!"
The words left his mouth like poison.
The ground under everyone’s feet trembled.
Cracks raced across the stone floor like lightning.
The whole auditorium began to shake violently.
Screams erupted again.
The masked man laughed louder as the earth itself roared under his command.
Rosalina glanced around the shaking auditorium once, then stomped her right foot hard on the ground.
The moment her boot hit the stone ’crack!’ ice exploded outward from her foot like a frozen wave.
It spread fast, racing across the floor in glittering blue-white patterns.
The trembling ground froze solid.
The creaking cracks stopped instantly. The earthquake spell fizzled out under the thick layer of ice.
The crowd gasped in awe. Students who had been crying while clinging to each other stared wide-eyed.
"She... she just stopped the earthquake?!"
"Miss Rosalina is amazing..."
Even Alia Ruth and Zenifar Rose paused their crowd-calming efforts to look at her.
The masked man, The Anomaly, tilted his head slowly.
"Impressive," his voice echoed through the mask, still mocking but with a tiny edge of surprise. "But can you dodge this?"
"Infinite Cast: Lance of Ice!"
A long, razor-sharp ice spear formed in his hand. He hurled it straight at Rosalina’s chest with deadly speed.
Rosalina didn’t flinch. She stayed perfectly calm.
She slowly reached out one hand, and caught the spear mid-air by its shaft.
The ice cracked slightly in her grip, but it didn’t pierce her.
She looked at the man with pure contempt.
"This is what you call a spell?"
The crowd buzzed louder.
"Did she just... catch it?!"
"She’s not even trying!"
"She’s so cool..."
Some students cheered quietly, fear turning into excitement. Others whispered in disbelief, eyes shining with admiration.
The masked man took a few steps back. Inside the mask, his frown eased.
’Lol... her acting is really good,’ he thought.
’She knows very well I can’t use my most powerful spells, the ones I inherited from my clan. If I do, my real identity gets exposed...’
He sighed inwardly.
Without those clan spells, everything he cast felt weak.
The ones he was using now? Just basic tricks he had made himself.
Nothing special. Nothing dangerous enough to finish her quickly.
’Come to think of it... it’s a big problem. I was planning to use this ’Anomaly’ identity more often, but I can’t risk the clan spells in this getup..."
He sighed to himself.
’I’ll just save the big stuff for another day...’
But before he could plan further.
"Rose Petal Eyes."
Rosalina’s voice was soft, almost bored.
Her pupils suddenly turned a deep, glowing red.
In the blink of an eye, she vanished.
"Where did she go?!"
The masked man spun around, looking left, right, up, nothing.
The crowd held its breath. Some students even covered their mouths.
"Chink!"
A sharp, wet sound.
Mary, Rosalina’s sword, pierced straight through the masked man’s stomach from behind.
"Guh!"
He groaned loudly and dropped to his knees.
Blood leaked from the wound, staining his dark robes crimson. His hands clutched the blade uselessly.
"How... can someone like you... kill me?"
He coughed, voice weak and shocked.
Rosalina stood behind him, calm as ever.
She twisted the sword once, just enough to make him gasp in pain, then pulled it out slowly.
She flicked the blood off Mary with a casual swing.
The blade gleamed clean again.
The crowd erupted.
"She did it!"
"She killed him!"
"Miss Rosalina... she’s unstoppable!"
