Chapter 67: Chapter: 66 The Anomaly!

"What was that just now?"

"ROARRRR!!!"

The monstrous roar echoed again, louder this time. Panic exploded through the auditorium like a wave.

"Boom! Boom! Boom!"

More explosions shook the ground from outside.

Screams filled the air. Students jumped up, knocking over chairs, pushing each other in fear.

Alia Ruth stayed calm. She stepped away from the speaker’s stand and raised her hands.

"Everyone, don’t panic!" she said loudly and clearly. "Stay where you are!"

"Rumble rumble rumble!"

The ground started shaking harder. Dust fell from the high edges above.

"What’s this rumbling?" someone shouted.

"Why is the ground trembling like this?!"

"No! Is there a monster outside?!"

"How can this be happening? Where are the instructors?!"

Panic spread like wildfire. Students ran toward the exits, shoving and tripping over each other.

"Boom!"

Another huge explosion, this one right at the main exit.

A giant chunk of the wall crashed down with a deafening crash, completely blocking the way out.

"No! The exit is blocked!"

"This can’t be real! What’s happening? Are we going to die?!"

People screamed louder. The crowd pressed together in terror. Someone near the front fell and was trampled.

"Ahhhhhh!"

The scream cut through the noise, but the panicked mob didn’t stop.

They kept pushing, crying, running in circles with nowhere to go.

Alia’s brows knitted together tightly. Her calm face cracked for the first time.

’What is happening...? At this rate, people are going to get hurt badly...’

"Everyone, please try to calm down!" she shouted again, raising her voice over the chaos.

"There might be a problem outside, but running like this will only make it worse!"

No one listened. The roars and rumbles drowned her out. The fear was too strong.

Just as Alia clenched her fists, ready to do something drastic.

"EVERYONE!"

A single, powerful voice boomed across the entire auditorium.

It was Rosalina.

She had been sitting calmly the whole time, arms crossed, watching the panic like it was someone else’s problem.

Now she stood up slowly, her expression still cold and unbothered.

She raised one hand.

"Infinite Cast: Fire Ball."

A bright red magic circle appeared in front of her palm. It spun fast, glowing hotter and hotter. 𝒻𝓇𝑒𝘦𝘸𝑒𝒷𝓃ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝒸ℴ𝘮

She pointed straight up toward the open sky.

"BOOM!"

A massive fireball shot out like a rocket.

It flew high above the auditorium and exploded into a huge burst of red and orange flames, like the biggest fireworks anyone had ever seen.

The bright light lit up the entire night sky. The roar of the flames cut through every scream.

For a second, the panicked crowd froze.

Heads turned up. Eyes widened. Mouths opened in shock.

The fireball’s glow painted everyone’s faces red. The heat washed over them like a warm wave.

Silence fell, broken only by heavy breathing and the distant monster roars.

Rosalina lowered her hand. Her voice rang out again, calm and commanding.

"Calm. Down."

No one argued.

Students slowly backed away from the blocked exit.

Alia Ruth glanced over at Rosalina.

Her eyes narrowed and her brows furrowed in surprise, she had been ready to do something drastic herself to calm everyone down.

But she said nothing. Instead, she stepped forward quickly, raising her hands and calling out in a firm, steady voice.

"Everyone, listen to me! Move slowly and stay together!"

Zenifar Rose did the same, hurrying to the other side of the crowd.

"Stay calm! Follow us, we’ll get you to safety!"

Both of them worked fast, guiding groups of scared students away from the blocked exits and toward the open center of the auditorium.

Meanwhile, Rosalina stayed perfectly calm.

She stood tall, arms raised slightly, her voice cutting through the noise like a blade.

"Don’t panic here," she said clearly and loudly.

"Once you panic, people get hurt. Calmly gather in the center, where no debris can fall on you. Move now!"

The crowd listened.

Even the most frightened students turned toward her voice.

They started walking, not running, toward the middle of the auditorium.

Faces that had been twisted in terror now showed respect and trust. They followed her words without question.

There were thousands of students, so even when they reached the center, many were still spread out a bit.

The very middle was packed, but the outer edges had smaller groups.

"Creak!"

A sharp, ugly sound came from the upper roof on the left corner.

"Creak!"

Another creak, louder this time, followed by a heavy ’thud’.

The wide overhang cracked.

A huge chunk of stone and metal broke off and started falling straight toward a group of at least fifty students below.

"Ahhhhh!"

Screams tore through the air.

The students tried to scatter, but there was no time. They were too close together, too slow.

"No!!"

Rosalina’s calm face turned pale for the first time. Without thinking, she rushed forward in a blur of movement.

In the next instant, she appeared directly under the falling debris.

"Infinite Cast: Super Strength!"

She roared the words into the air and thrust both hands upward.

"BOOM!"

The massive chunk of roof slammed down onto her raised arms and shoulders.

Her body shook under the weight. Her teeth gritted so hard you could hear them grind.

A sharp "Ahh!" escaped her lips as blood trickled from the corner of her mouth and dripped down her chin.

Her knees bent. Her arms trembled violently.

Veins popped out on her neck and forehead. Sweat poured down her face in seconds.

She was holding up tons of stone and steel, alone.

The fifty students trapped underneath stared up at her in shock. Their eyes went wide.

"Mom, I wanna go home..."

"Miss Rosalina...?"

"But... why...?"

Some even started crying.

Tears streamed down their faces as they watched her struggle.

Her arms shook harder. Her breathing came in short, painful gasps.

Blood kept dripping from her mouth, staining her clothes red.

"Go now!!!" Rosalina roared, voice raw and strained. "I can’t hold it much longer!"

The students snapped out of their daze.

They scrambled forward on hands and knees, crawling and running past her trembling legs.

One by one, they escaped from under the debris.

Rosalina’s face twisted in pain.

Her whole body was shaking now, muscles screaming, bones creaking under the pressure.

More blood leaked from her lips. Her eyes watered from the effort, but she refused to let go.

The last student crawled free.

Only then did Rosalina let out a shaky breath.

With a final, desperate push, she shoved the debris to the side.

It crashed down beside her with a thunderous ’boom’, kicking up dust and debris.

Rosalina dropped to one knee.

She clutched her side, breathing hard, blood still trickling from her mouth.

Her arms hung limp for a moment, trembling from the strain.

The students she had saved stared at her, some crying openly, others frozen in awe.

"Miss Rosalina... thank you..."

"You saved us..."

She wiped the blood from her lips with the back of her hand. Her voice came out hoarse but steady.

"Get back to the center. Now!"

Just as Rosalina pushed herself up from one knee, ready to stand tall again, a cold voice echoed from behind her.

"My my..."

Everyone turned at once.

A man slowly descended from the high, broken edge of the auditorium roof.

His whole body was wrapped in a dark hood that swallowed the light.

His face was hidden behind a plain white mask, the creepy painted smile stretched too wide, the black eye holes staring like empty voids.

He landed lightly on the ground, boots silent against the stone.

"Who is he?"

"When did he even appear?!"

The crowd buzzed with fear and confusion.

Whispers turned into murmurs, then louder questions. Students backed away instinctively.

The masked man tilted his head toward Rosalina.

"It seems our intel was right, huh?" he said in a smooth, mocking tone.

"Though you are arrogant... you can’t abandon anyone in need."

He gave a small, mocking bow, half respect, half insult.

"It is an honour to meet you, Miss Rosalina..."

The crowd went quiet for a second, then exploded again.

"Wait... what did he just say?"

"Did he say she is kind?"

"She really saved those people..."

"Right...she saved us all, didn’t you see how she risked her life?"

Students turned to Rosalina with wide eyes full of new respect and awe.

Even the ones who used to call her arrogant Rosalina whispered in surprise.

Rosalina slowly dusted the dirt and blood off her clothes.

She wiped the last smear of red from her lips with the back of her hand.

Her face returned to its usual cold, superior calm, like the pain, the debris, the blood had never happened.

She looked straight at the masked man.

"Who are you?" she asked, voice flat but sharp. "Are you the one behind all of this?"

A faint killing intent leaked from her, not loud, just enough to make the air feel heavier.

The man chuckled. "Hehehe..."

His laugh was low and creepy, echoing under the mask.

"Sharp as ever, it seems. No wonder the higher-ups told me to get rid of you..."

He paused, then slowly raised one gloved hand and pointed at the entire crowd. "No... all of you, to be precise."

"What?"

"What is he saying?!"

"Fuck this! Who the hell are you?!"

"Reveal yourself right now!"

The students shouted, some angry, some terrified.

The fear from the monster roars mixed with this new threat, making everyone tense.

The masked man raised both hands in mock surrender, still chuckling.

"Don’t be impatient."

He lowered his hands and tilted his head again, that creepy painted smile seeming to stretch wider.

"As for my name? You may address me as..."

He let the silence hang for a dramatic second.

"...The Anomaly."
