Villainess X Villain: They are obsessed with each other!-Chapter 113 -: 112 lone king’s inheritance.[3]
The loud voice boomed across the academy grounds once more.
["WELCOME, FUTURE GENERATIONS... TO THE LONE KING’S INHERITANCE!"]
Everyone who was running away in panic suddenly froze in place.
They slowly turned and stared at the giant pillar of light, eyes wide with shock.
Julius and Rosalina had been rushing straight toward the light pillar.
They stopped mid-air and looked over.
The bright white light was still shooting up from the same spot.
But now, something new had appeared right beside it.
"A face..." Rosalina muttered. She stopped flying completely and hovered in the air.
Julius also stopped and stared. It really was a face, but a very strange one.
It had long flowing hair, a clear forehead, and a mouth.
Everything else was just pure white light.
The face was huge, big enough that every single person in the academy could see it clearly, no matter where they stood.
"Lone King..." Julius muttered under his breath, his eyes locked on the giant glowing face.
It looked exactly like the scene he had read about before.
That meant Crypian had already entered the inheritance space.
He turned to Rosalina quickly. "Come on, we don’t have much time. He already has the key. He’ll get sent straight to the seventh floor."[1]
Rosalina, who was still staring at the massive face with her mouth slightly open, snapped out of it when she heard Julius.
"The key?" she asked, looking confused.
"Come, I’ll explain everything on the way," Julius said. He shot forward through the air without waiting.
Rosalina quickly flew after him to catch up.
Just then, the giant face of the Lone King spoke again, its deep voice shaking the air around them.
[I am the Lone King who set up this inheritance,] The giant glowing face announced in a deep, powerful voice.
[I don’t know how many days, weeks, months, years, or even centuries have passed.]
The voice paused for a moment. The whole academy grounds became strangely quiet.
Everyone’s eyes were glued to the massive face floating beside the pillar of light.
Some students even started rushing toward the light the moment they heard the word "inheritance."
"It’s an inheritance!" one student shouted.
The students who had been scared and running away just moments ago now had their eyes shining with excitement.
"Anyone can have it! Let’s go!"
Like a switch had been flipped, the crowd turned around and charged forward.
They pushed and shoved each other, running straight toward the bright pillar as if they had forgotten all their fear.
The giant face let out a deep sigh of regret and continued speaking.
[To all the descendants of the future generations... I, the Lone King, was forsaken by the world.]
[I struggled my whole life. However, I was able to glance at what the heavens would look like. I tried hard to achieve it... but I wasn’t able to grasp it.]
The face paused again, its glowing white eyes looking sad for a moment. Then it went on.
[But I have created many spells and treasures inspired by the legendary ’Invincible Path.’ Though this inheritance is of the Time Path, one may still attain the remains of the Invincible Path. If they understand it and fully grasp my inheritance.]
"Invincible Path?"
The students and professors who were rushing toward the light suddenly froze in place.
Their mouths hung open in shock.
"Is he really talking about the ancient Invincible Path?" someone whispered.
The Invincible Path was said to be the strongest path of all.
If someone could pass five of their Heavenly Trials using the Invincible Path, they would become completely unbeatable.
Disbelief and awe filled everyone’s faces.
The Invincible Path was a legendary path from the ancient era.
Back then, the three floating continents and the four stationary continents were all connected by one big sea.
There were no races like the Zlycons either. There was only one race...humans.
It was said that one human had once gone far beyond the Infinite Core stage.
He had reached the peak of Bodily Ascension and the transcendence of Soul Ascension.
Many people had reached those levels throughout history, but this man had done it while walking the Invincible Path.
Because of that, he was nearly impossible to defeat.
And the craziest part? He wanted to destroy Fate itself, the force that controlled everything.
In the old myths of the Zlycons, it was written that Fate had sent his own daughter, Destiny, to kill him.
But instead of killing the man, Destiny fell in love with him.
It was said that the Zlycons were their descendants.
After that, for some unknown reason, the continents split apart, three floating and four stationary.
Now that the Lone King had mentioned the Invincible Path, a path that had disappeared thousands of years ago, everyone’s eyes turned red with pure greed.
"The Invincible Path is mine!!!" one student screamed at the top of his lungs.
The students and professors who had not yet reached the Void Core stage rushed toward the light like crazy people.
It looked like the god of greed had completely taken over their bodies.
Their eyes were bright red with hunger for power.
They pushed and shoved each other, determined not to let anyone else get the inheritance no matter what.
Meanwhile, the Dean, Lucian, and Jaya stood right in front of the white pillar.
They had not entered yet. It was easy to see why.
Lucian let out a long sigh. "I never thought I would regret reaching the Void Core stage..."
"Me too," Jaya agreed with a sad shake of her head.
"Once you pass the Spirit Core stage and enter the Void Core stage of Bodily Ascension, the only way to get stronger is by going through the Heavenly Trials."
At the Spirit Core stage of Bodily Ascension and the Conversion stage of Soul Ascension, you choose one path and try to understand it deeply to reach the Void Core stage.
After reaching the Void Core stage of Bodily Ascension and the Domain Manifestation stage of Soul Ascension, you have to face the Heavenly Trials of that specific path.
"Those trials are life-threatening and extremely difficult. I haven’t even tried the second trial yet."
She paused and looked at the rushing crowd. "And once you pass even one trial, you get special runes for that path."
"The more runes you collect, the stronger your spells become. But the most important rule is this...once you pass a trial, you can never change to another path again. So for us... it is impossible."
The three of them stood in heavy silence for a moment.
"But..." Dean Orin finally spoke up, his voice serious, "we can’t let the other professors enter either."
