Villain transmigration: The doll maker.-Chapter 115:Sacrifice
The three were organized into a triangle-shaped pattern, each kneeling at a corner.
The first to wake up was Sir Drakein. He looked around in confusion before it dawned on him the situation he was in.
I could see every expression he went through while in that state. I stepped towards him drawing his attention.
"What are you doing young master?"
He asked, looking around and then down at the vibrating magic circle. His eyes widened in shock before he started to violently struggle.
"You should know what I’m about to do?"
His eyes widened even more.
"What have you done to my magic?"
He hissed in anger. I chuckled and tagged his hair back painfully until he was facing me.
"I just suppressed it a little, this shouldn’t take long anyway."
"You’ll regret this, forbidden spells are forbidden for a reason do you.."
"Ooh... stop with your philosophical nonsense and die for me."
Luna’s blade came down and cut his head off. It rolled to the ground leaving a trail of blood behind.
The body spattered mana-rich blood causing its smell to be almost irresistible but I couldn’t fall into those stupid temptations.
The spell below glowed even brighter as the blood dripping from the body was absorbed by the spell. After that, the body started to dissolve into the magic circle.
This process didn’t take long for it to be done, I could feel the hunger in the spell as it commanded its next sacrifice.
A 24th star mage was just the start.
"What have you done you psychotic lunatic, he was our only savior."
The saintess familiar sob filled voice came prompting me to turn my attention to her.
She was of course crying.
"What! You shouldn’t be that worried you’ll be joining him soon."
"Sinner.. May the God of light strike you down and cleanse your soul of the evil that it has become."
I laughed out loud. She was just too funny. If gods could easily strike us down, they wouldn’t be asking humans to worship them.
"We’ll see if he will save you from death."
Her eyes widened as the situation started to come on her face. Although she appeared confident the shaking of her hands and the constant sweating had already betrayed her.
"The prince will avenge me!"
She said firmly
I looked at her in shock at her stupidity. How was that fool going to save her?
As of now through my senses, the bastard was too focused on battle to notice his supposed fiancée had gone missing.
’How generous’
"Yeah well, I’ll be waiting for that."
Luna did the same cutting her head off.
’How anticlimactic’
To my surprise and joy, her blood had a mixture of golden threads of blood. I already knew from the power radiating from it that it was the god’s blood they had drunk.
"Lets keep her head, we might just need it."
Despite only being a pinch, I could feel it suppressing me both body and soul-wise.
I drew some of her blood and kept it with me.
I needed to study it thoroughly.
"This one hasn’t woken up?"
I said while staring at the saint who was still unconscious.
"Should I wake him?"
Kianah asked enthusiastically. I nodded.
She stepped towards him and slapped him across the face causing him to fully fall over.
A small groan escaped him showing the gradual sign of his awakening.
"What kind of spell is this master that you need these three specifically?"
Kianah asked and kicked the barely conscious boy. I almost laughed at her enthusiasm.
"It’s something that would give me unimaginable power beyond the mortal constraint."
I answered vaguely. The thought of sparing these two when we first met was nauseating but I had to wait for them to pass over the 18th star before I could put what I needed into action.
This spell was one of the spells at the back of the book that I found from the count’s daughter.
That book, the more I studied it the more I found that it contained many worse spells and most of them were probably forbidden.
"Master look he is awake."
Jeneviv pointed out. I squatted in front of the man and looked down at him with a smile on my face.
"Wake up you little shit."
I patted his cheek aggressively, leaving marks on his already bruised skin.
’At least you went to battle’
I thought while looking at the existing wounds that were definitely not caused by the kidnapping.
"Where am I?"
He asked in confusion.
"You have been captured."
I said in a deadpan voice. By now the saintess’ body had dissolved and nothing but her clothes were left.
I pulled him up forcing him to face his sister’s blood-soaked clothes.
"What have you done to my sister?"
He shouted his eyes getting redder and redder with anger. I chuckled down at him.
"What else, I killed her and used her as a sacrifice," I pointed at her head that Nixie was holding by the hair as she tried to keep the blood away from her," look, isn’t she beautiful. "
I burst into full-on laughter, his expression was too funny for me to stop myself.
The pain, grief, and anger all mixed together were marvelous. Maybe I had been holding more anger than I wanted to admit but seeing his grief was satisfying.
"Kill him."
I didn’t want to waste time. The more resentful he was the better the results I would get.
Kianah did the killing this time. She picked up his head without being prompted and moved away from the circle.
"All of you should get ready to run if there is any problem, I’m pretty sure this spell will spun the whole kingdom and I won’t be able to help you guys since it’s going to drain my mana. And also do not approach me no matter the result, you’ll be turned into a sacrifice."
I glanced at Jeneviv, who was looking at me in worry. She had been my top help in creating this spell since I couldn’t map the whole spell around the kingdom without her help.
From the day she met me, she has been mapping the spell with her skeletons with my instructions.
A hazardous thing to do but she had performed it perfectly.
’I just hope this works’
I cut my arm letting blood drip into the middle of the spell merging with the other three.
The already glowing spell flickered before a pressure I had never imagined enveloped me.
The smell of blood and rot assaulted me as I felt my body grow lighter and lighter.
’It’s leaving the ground’
I looked around. The purple magic circle had lifted up the ground with me in the middle.
I came to a stop just a few meters up in the sky above the capital. That was when I looked down and noticed it,the battle had stopped and everyone seemed to be getting lethargic.
Strings of different colors started to float from the dead and the severely injured or those who were on the verge of death.
"So this is how it’s done."
The spell was extracting souls from the dead, mainly souls that had not managed to escape.
Since this was a war, there were plenty of resentful souls still lingering around the places the beasts had passed through.
"This is magical."
I could feel the power trickling into my body as the spell started to strengthen my soul. The souls of the dead were being converted into power to nourish my broken soul.
While I had been growing my body’s strength, my soul had been very behind especially with the parasitic soul inside of me.
This procedure was dangerous, I was already starting to feel the side effects.
"Why did you not save me ... please don’t kill me... I don’t want to die....why can’t you die....you monster.....i want ....die...die...die...Please don’t leave."
These were the few words that were poured into my soul from the resentful souls but not all souls were resentful since the spell just extracted any soul it found even for beasts.
"You shouldn’t absorb too much, this will affect you in the longrun stop before your body becomes overwhelmed!"
Athena shouted at me as she watched my mana pool increase at an extremely rapid speed. Faster than it had taken when reabsorbing my soul.
I chuckled.
"If I don’t do this, I will be stuck in this mortal constraint without a way of increasing."
I shouted back as pain started to trickle in with each absorption. The euphoric feeling was disappearing and now soul-tearing pain had started to invade.
"You’ll corrupt your soul, do you even know how many souls you have absorbed by now?"
My body buckled and I knelt on the spell circle. I could feel the blood dripping down my face from all the openings.
I couldn’t even lift my hand to wipe my face as blood filled my eyes. My body was breaking and the pain was almost unimaginable.
"This is the fastest way I could think of and I will not stop midcasting," I sent more mana into the spell," I don’t really care, if it’s not enough to increase my power, I’ll sacrifice this whole kingdom if I have to!"
A scream that I had tried to suppress tore through my mouth as I felt my soul getting crushed and overwhelmed with all that resentment but within that darkness, I could feel it.
I was nearing the breaking point, I just had to hold on long enough for my soul to adjust.
"How stupid."
I felt a new wave of power enter my soul, different from the souls burning through the souls and refining them.
I smiled through the pain, she had fallen for it, i knew she wouldn’t be able to see me suffer since it would eventually affect her.
’Now, I can absorb as much as I want’
