Village Doctor's Women-Chapter 77 - 73 Miraculous Qi Vessel Acupuncture Technique
Wang Jian had never expected this to happen. He’d once heard his master mention it in passing, but he only recalled it because of what he’d just done. His Acupuncture Skill had such an unexpected effect; it was a pleasant surprise.
If acupuncture worked so remarkably on women, what about on a man?
A sudden idea struck him. That acupoint could stimulate a woman’s response, bringing her instantly to the peak. So, what if he used a different point that worked on men? Could he become like the protagonists in those risqué novels, with their inhuman stamina and power? At the very least, it would make him much stronger, right? Should I try it?
The idea was so attractive that even Wang Jian himself was tempted. The problem was the uncertainty. If his idea worked, it would be a cause for celebration. But if the effect was the opposite, it would be a fall from heaven to hell, like losing both the lady and the army.
But truth be told, the allure of using acupuncture to enhance one’s capabilities was simply too great. Most men wish for virility, and the desire for it is comparable to the desire for wealth. No one ever complains about having too much, but having too little can be agonizing, even to the point of psychological distortion.
As a martial artist who trained to strengthen his body, Wang Jian was already quite potent in that respect, so he didn’t need it for himself. After some thought, he abandoned the idea of testing it on his own body. However, this line of thinking provided him with a new method for treating others. He wondered if, for individuals who were impotent for physiological reasons, he could use the Qi Needle to guide them and gradually restore their function.
This is like bringing a dead tree back to life! I’m a goddamn genius!
The only problem was that this method hadn’t been tested. If the acupoint his master mentioned was effective, but Li Liping’s reaction was uniquely strong due to her own constitution, then his excitement would be for nothing.
But if he could truly solve such problems with Chinese medicine, he could not only earn a fortune but also help a great many people. It might even prevent the creation of numerous serial killers. Wang Jian had once heard from a friend in a government position that nine out of ten serial killers were impotent. This condition gradually warped their psyche, leading them to commit other acts to find psychological satisfaction. It was like sinking into quicksand—the deeper they fell, the harder it was to climb out.
Wang Jian might not be a psychologist, but if he could address the root of the problem, perhaps he could prevent many tragedies.
Putting aside such long-term implications, there were short-term benefits as well. If Qi Needle acupuncture could indeed resolve impotence, it could save many broken or soon-to-be-broken families.
The more Wang Jian considered it, the more promising the idea seemed. He began mentally scouting for people with that specific problem. As luck would have it, Zhang Li was a perfect candidate. The moment this thought occurred to him, Wang Jian began to eagerly anticipate Zhang Li’s return.
If Zhang Li, who was far from home, knew that Wang Jian might be able to cure him, he would surely have a storm of conflicting emotions. At the very least, he would deeply regret giving up his wife.
「...」
While dining with the three women, Wang Jian was still pondering this matter. He was absent-minded, his thoughts completely immersed in the medical texts he had read before.
Acupuncture required great precision, and Qi Needle acupuncture was even more demanding. It required not only finding the right acupoints but also understanding the direction of the Qi meridians, the stimulation routes, and the proper sequence. He had to figure out the meridian stimulation routes, a massive undertaking. Just like in those fantasy novels, if the Qi pathways were wrong, a single needle could cause a major problem.
He was so absorbed in this that by the time Ren Yu and Li Liping were ready to leave, he had only managed to form a few preliminary ideas. He’d barely eaten a few mouthfuls of rice, but he was in such a state of excitement that he didn’t feel hungry at all.
"What are you thinking about? You’ve barely touched your food. Don’t you have an appetite?"
While they were washing the dishes, Li Liping asked, "I noticed you didn’t eat much of the dishes either. Was my cooking not to your liking?"
Liping had wanted to ask during the meal, but with Ren Yu and the others there, she was afraid of revealing her emotions and held back. She had prepared the entire meal herself. Seeing Wang Jian lost in thought and not eating truly upset her. She had slaved away all afternoon preparing a huge feast, yet Wang Jian had eaten less than ten bites. She had been counting and was sure she wasn’t mistaken.
"No, no, that’s not it at all," Wang Jian said, shaking his head. A smile spread across his face; he couldn’t possibly be unhappy, having just devised an entirely new treatment method on his own.
In Li Liping’s eyes, that smile was just asking for a slap.
Her expression hardened as she stared at him in silence.
"Ah, don’t misunderstand," Wang Jian said, quickly noticing the change in her expression. He instantly realized her mistake and explained, amused and exasperated, "I was wrestling with a medical problem during dinner. I can’t eat properly until I figure something like that out. It was because your cooking is so delicious that I was able to sit there and focus on it."
Li Liping scoffed, a laugh of frustration escaping her. "How can you call that eating properly? Taking a few bites now and then is eating properly? Should I be thanking you?"
"You can’t put it like that," Wang Jian said, realizing his words were clumsy when he saw her anger. He continued to explain, "When I was in Beijing, if I ran into a problem like this, I’d lock myself in my room and refuse to eat until I’d solved it."
There was nothing technically wrong with what he said. Li Liping knew he was a dedicated expert who loved his studies, but that had nothing to do with why she was angry. His words didn’t placate her at all; in fact, they seemed to make her even angrier. Her expression darkened, and she no longer felt like talking.
This man... he cares more about his work than about me. And he’s completely clueless! He doesn’t even know he should apologize. Listening to him, it sounds like I should be thanking him! The more she thought about it, the angrier she became. Men are all clueless jerks!
Taking a deep breath, Li Liping tossed the sponge onto the counter. She was done washing. She would just leave. Staying here was infuriating.
But she had barely taken two steps before Wang Jian grabbed her arm.
A flicker of joy went through her. He’s finally realized! He’s going to apologize. As long as he apologizes, he’s not completely hopeless.
Just as she was thinking this, Wang Jian spoke. "Hey, don’t go yet. I have something to ask you."
Li Liping feigned composure, eagerly awaiting his next words. "Go on," she said coolly, trying to hide her anger.
But Wang Jian launched right in. "It’s about Zhang Li. I think I might have found a way to cure him."
Li Liping had been ready to break into a sweet smile, but his words stunned her. "So that’s what you were thinking about this whole time?"
Seeing her stunned expression, Wang Jian nodded. "Yes. It’s a difficult problem, and I couldn’t be certain without thinking it through. But based on my current understanding, I’m quite confident. I’ll talk to Zhang Li about it when he gets back."
He can be cured?
This should have been news that made her unequivocally happy, but Li Liping showed little emotion. Instead, she seemed at a loss for words.
She gave Wang Jian a final glance, shook his hand off her arm, and left in silence without so much as a goodbye to Xu Qian. Her expression, however, was peculiar...
