Venerable Demon King & The Doting Immortal (QT)-Chapter 658: Sibling rivalry
Han Xin stirred from his sleep, his consciousness returning not because of the loud noise that had echoed through the palace moments before, but to the solid, overwhelming heat of the man wrapped around him. Xiang Yu’s arm was a heavy, possessive weight across his chest, pinning him to the silk sheets.
Han Xin shifted, the muscles in his back protesting with a pleasant soreness, a living map of their fun night before. He moved again intending to investigate the noise outside when the arm tightened, pulling him back flush against a broad, ruined chest.
"Don’t..." Xiang Yu’s voice was a low, gravelly rumble against the shell of his ear, roughened from hours of crying out in pleasure. "Lian and Mei will take care of it."
Han Xin let out a deep sigh, the tension leaving his body as he settled back into Xiang Yu’s embrace. His eyes drifted closed, but he could no longer fall back to sleep.
That’s because now, he was achingly aware of everything. The press of Xiang Yu’s thick thighs against his own. The stark, raised evidence of his own passion on Xiang Yu’s skin. There was a galaxy of dark purple and red marks scattered across the powerful shoulders and down the sculpted back. He could feel the faint sting on his own shoulder where Xiang Yu’s teeth had broken the skin, a perfect, possessive claiming he wore with a secret thrill.
The room became peaceful again, that is until a thunderous crash echoed through the palace halls. Then came the chaos.
"YOU LITTLE THIEF, COME HERE!" Lian’s voice rang out like a war cry.
Mei’s shriek followed, high-pitched and horrified. "It ran under the table! I saw it!"
Xiang Yu’s eye twitched. He yanked the quilt off with a growl, rising like a storm cloud. Shirtless, hair cascading down his back, long pants hanging low on his hips, he looked every bit the disgruntled parent awakened too early on a weekend.
Han Xin reached out, "Yu Yu, wait—"
Too late. Xiang Yu was already marching through the corridor, fury in every step.
Han Xin groaned and followed, praying he wouldn’t have to mediate an execution. Xiang Yu stormed into the other bedroom, lips parted to yell and then he froze.
He stood frozen in the doorway, his eyes locked on the squirming bundle in Lian’s arms. It was a tiny, naked dumpling of a child with chubby cheeks, snow-white hair, and a feral gleam in his eyes. The little creature kicked and scratched like a wild beast, limbs flailing with surprising force.
Xiang Yu: "..."
He blinked slowly. "Did you kidnap a kid?"
Lian scoffed. "Kidnap where?"
Mei chimed in, arms crossed. "We are law abiding citizens and if we were going to kidnap one, it wouldn’t be this one."
Han Xin finally caught up, peeking over Xiang Yu’s shoulder. The moment his eyes landed on the child, recognition struck like lightning. "Wait... that’s—"
Before he could finish, the little monster heard his dad’s voice. His head whipped around, eyes lighting up. He thrashed violently, bit Lian’s arm with alarming precision, and leapt free.
"YOW!" Lian yelped, dropping him.
The child bolted toward Xiang Yu and launched himself into his arms, clinging tightly. "Dada!"
Xiang Yu: "..."
Lian and Mei stood in stunned silence, jaws slack. They had woken up to a commotion, expecting a stray spirit or a rogue beast. Instead, they found this baby rummaging through their belongings, drooling on priceless heirlooms, and radiating divine power like a miniature storm. They thought, he is just a baby, how bad could it be?
They were wrong.
He was a feral dumpling with the strength of a celestial beast and the attitude of a warlord. They tried to subdue him but they failed miserably.
And now, this brat had the audacity to call their dad "dada." Hell no!
Xiang Yu cradled the baby in his arms, the child’s tiny fists clutching his robe as he sobbed, "Dada... they bullied me..." His voice was broken, hiccuping between cries, and his snow-white hair clung to his damp cheeks. Xiang Yu blinked, utterly baffled, glancing at Han Xin for answers.
Han Xin stood frozen, mouth slightly agape. "This... this wasn’t supposed to happen," he whispered. "It’s only been seven months. It took... it took me a decade to form a physical form..."
The weight of the moment settled heavily between them. This wasn’t just a surprise, it was a cosmic anomaly. The child’s presence pulsed with divine energy so potent it made the air shimmer. Even the palace walls seemed to hum in response. And it wasn’t just them.
Across the divine realm, the foundations trembled. What had been a quiet morning in the mortal realm turned into a seismic awakening in the heavens. The emergence of such a being so powerful it could shake the heavens was unprecedented. It meant something stronger than any known existence had arrived.
In the Celestial Hall, the Divine Immortals gathered, their expressions tense. Whispers filled the air. Was this thing a threat? A harbinger? Would war be necessary?
The great doors of the Celestial Hall groaned open, and the Divine Emperor entered, his aura cascading like sunlight through storm clouds, majestic, commanding, and impossibly serene. He had expected years to prepare, to monitor the divine seed’s growth. A decade, at least. But now, the child had arrived, fully formed, impossibly early, and already rewriting the laws of creation. 𝒇𝒓𝒆𝒆𝙬𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝒎
The gathered Divine Immortals straightened in their seats, their expressions taut with anticipation. The tremble that had rippled through the divine realm earlier had left even the oldest among them uneasy. Something had awakened. Something powerful.
The Divine Council had already taken their seats, their robes shimmering with celestial thread, faces carved in stone-like solemnity. The Divine Emperor walked forward, his hand entwined with his wife’s, her presence as graceful and steady as moonlight. Together, they ascended to the highest dais and sat, the weight of their authority settling over the hall like a mantle.
A council member with a long-standing grudge against the Divine Emperor leaned forward, voice sharp. "It’s in the northern demon realm. Coincidence? I don’t think so."
The Divine Emperor’s gaze was calm, unwavering. "Not a coincidence. A new divine being has appeared and it is connected to Han Xin and Xiang Yu."
The hall erupted. Voices clashed like swords. Xiang Yu, a half-demon with a fully awakened demon core, was an anomaly. How could a being of pure divine origin emerge from such lineage?
