Chapter 659: Dada kiss kiss

One council elder stood, face flushed. "You can’t guarantee it’s pure. It must be eliminated before it destabilizes the realms."

The Emperor felt his wife’s hand tighten around his. He glanced at her, then squeezed back gently. Who was comforting who here was unclear.

"Before you condemn it," he said, voice cutting through the noise, "take it to the Hall of Minor Judgements. Let them decide whether it is pure enough."

Some immortals nodded, others protested. The Divine Emperor let the ruckus swell. It was only when they had vented enough did he raise his hand and they hall fell into silence. "Let’s put it to a vote," he said his voice firm but internally he was a mess. If they chose to end his grandchild he might have to go against Heaven’s Mandate and rebel.

The eldest council member stood his expression stern. "Those in favor?" he said his voice trembling from old age. Hands rose and most of them. The result was clear.

The fate of the new divine being would be judged and not destroyed, well, at least not yet.

***

The bedroom was quiet, bathed in the soft glow of morning light filtering through gauzy curtains. Xiang Yu knelt beside the bed, his fingers carefully adjusting the folds of the little dumpling’s robe. His movements were precise, almost reverent, as though dressing a sacred relic. The child sat at the edge of the bed, legs too short to touch the floor, kicking them back and forth with playful abandon.

Suddenly, the boy reached out and tugged gently on a strand of Xiang Yu’s long hair. Xiang Yu flinched, startled, but the child was too absorbed to notice. He twirled the silky strand around his tiny finger and said with a bright smile, "Dada is so pretty."

Xiang Yu: "..."

He glanced at Han Xin, who was watching them from the corner with tender eyes, then turned back to the child. "Thank you," he said slowly. "Baby is so cute."

The child giggled, delighted, and Xiang Yu removed his hair crown, offering it. "Here, play with this."

The boy accepted it with glee, immediately pretending it was a flying beast.

Xiang Yu stood and pulled Han Xin aside, his grip firm. "What the hell is going on?"

Han Xin whispered, "I really didn’t know. I am just as confused as you."

Xiang Yu looked back at the child, who was now babbling to the crown like it was alive. "Isn’t he supposed to be a newborn? He looks like he is two."

Han Xin nodded slowly. "I was three when I formed, but still... this is way too early."

Xiang Yu rubbed his temple, fingers trembling. If someone told him two years ago I would have a son he would have laughed them out of the realm. It was too unbelievable.

Xiang Yu sat on the edge of the bed, his thoughts spiraling. He had expected a decade. Ten long years to prepare himself, to gather strength, to learn how raise a divine child. But fate had other plans. The child had arrived early, impossibly early, and now the weight of responsibility pressed against his chest like a mountain. The tremor in his fingers didn’t stop. They intensified.

Han Xin noticed immediately and reached out, lacing their hands together. His grip was firm, grounding. Xiang Yu’s trembling stilled, and he allowed Han Xin to pull him into a quiet embrace.

They held each other for a long moment, the silence between them thick with emotion. Han Xin stroked Xiang Yu’s hair gently, then pressed a soft kiss to his forehead. "I am here," he whispered. "You won’t do this alone."

Xiang Yu’s muscles slowly relaxed, the tension melting away. Han Xin was right. He wouldn’t have to face this alone.

His protective instincts surged. At that age, his mother had treated him like a burden, a mistake. The cold nights, the silence, the bruises he had survived them, but barely. Till this day he couldn’t fathom how he had survived such horrible treatment. His son would never know that kind of pain.

Xiang Yu hugged Han Xin tighter, voice low and brittle. "If anyone lays a hand on him... I will kill them."

Han Xin didn’t flinch. He whispered into his ear, "And I will help you kill them."

He gently pinched Xiang Yu’s chin, guiding his gaze upward. Their eyes met, and the chemistry between them sparked like flint to flame. Xiang Yu leaned in, lips brushing Han Xin’s.

Han Xin parted his lips, ready to deepen the kiss—

"Dada! Dada! Kiss kiss too!" came a babyish voice from their feet. How this little ancestor had managed to sneak up on them had to be studied.

Han Xin: "..."

Xiang Yu sighed and whispered, "Pick him up."

Han Xin groaned softly, but smiled as he turned to retrieve their tiny, giggling interruption.

He leaned down, arms open, and the little dumpling immediately stretched his own chubby arms upward, eyes sparkling with anticipation. Han Xin scooped him up with ease, lifting the giggling child into the air before settling him against his hip.

Without hesitation, the boy leaned forward and planted a loud, exaggerated "mwah" right on Xiang Yu’s lips.

Han Xin blinked. "No, no, that’s for dad to kiss," he said, pointing at Xiang Yu’s cheek. "You kiss here."

But the child was just as stubborn as his father. He shook his head, white hair bouncing. "Dad kiss here, so I kiss here too!"

Han Xin narrowed his eyes. "Then no kisses for you."

Xiang Yu chuckled, amused. "Are you beefing with a baby?"

Han Xin huffed. "I am just teaching him boundaries. He can’t go around kissing everyone." 𝐟𝐫𝕖𝗲𝘄𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝕧𝐞𝚕.𝕔𝕠𝐦

Xiang Yu smirked. "But I am not everyone. I am his dada."

The child nodded enthusiastically. "Yes! Dada kiss kiss!"

Han Xin: "..."

Speechless, Han Xin received a cheek kiss from the little one, followed by a giggle and a tight hug around his neck. Han Xin tapped the tip of the boy’s nose. "Oh, so when it’s me, I get the cheek, huh?"

The boy giggled again, snuggling closer.

Han Xin rubbed his son’s back, eyes drifting to Xiang Yu with quiet adoration. He reached out, pulling Xiang Yu close, lips brushing—

But the brat twisted around mid-kiss like he’d sensed a cosmic disturbance.

Han Xin: "..."

Xiang Yu burst into laughter, tears streaming down his face. "See? It’s like he has a vendetta against me,"

Han Xin groaned. "I swear he is doing it on purpose."

Xiang Yu pinched the boy’s plump cheeks. "Do you want to meet your family?"

The child nodded vigorously. Xiang Yu walked ahead and opened the door only for Little Bai, Lian, and Mei to tumble in, landing in a heap.

Xiang Yu: "..."
