Urban Super Soldier King-Chapter 824: Xiang Yu’s Crazy Idea
Chapter 824: Chapter 824: Xiang Yu’s Crazy Idea
Li Wenlong and Mi Hui had never undergone professional training; they were merely intellectuals, exploited by others to stand out.
Faced with this tense situation, they naturally felt fear. But seeing Xiang Yu and the others remain so calm, the two gradually relaxed. It’s just death—what was there to fear? They had already prepared themselves for it.
Mi Hui silently hoped Xiang Yu would kill them right then and there. Death was acceptable; returning to that hell was not.
Xiang Yu held a dagger in his hand. Of course, he wasn’t about to kill them. His dagger only ended the lives of those who truly deserved it.
"Xiang Yu, I’m begging you—kill me now. I’m not afraid to die," Mi Hui pleaded earnestly, looking at Xiang Yu.
Xiang Yu’s gaze swept over the crowd of men dressed in white, each clutching a submachine gun. He knew it was impossible for his group to break out.
"Brother Yu, let’s do it. Killing one is worth it; killing two is a profit," Tie Zhuzi said with a hearty laugh.
Xiang Yu nodded and smiled. Well, if it had come to this, so be it. If they were going to die, they’d die charging forward.
"Brothers, I’ll see you all soon!" Xiang Yu laughed boldly.
Just as Xiang Yu gripped his dagger and prepared to charge, a vehicle suddenly roared toward them from afar.
The vehicle wasn’t a typical car; it was a large truck, somewhat resembling a pickup. It had excellent maneuverability.
While such a truck wouldn’t necessarily outrun Xiang Yu’s sports car on the highway, it was the best option for snowy mountain terrain.
Everyone turned to look at the incoming truck, confused about what was happening. When it was a dozen meters away, it suddenly skidded into a sharp turn, spinning its rear around.
On the back of the truck stood a valiant woman, holding a bulky black weapon.
"Get down!" Xiang Yu shouted and dragged Li Wenlong and Mi Hui to the ground.
Tie Zhuzi and Xiao Xuan reacted swiftly. Once they spotted the person in the truck, realization dawned upon them instantly.
Just as everyone hit the ground, the woman on the truck squeezed the trigger. A barrage of bullets raked across the ground.
The men dressed in white didn’t even have time to react before collapsing in heaps. Bright red blood stained their white garments.
Those who survived were fairly quick-witted, darting to find cover. Though ten had fallen, many more remained hidden around the area.
Xiang Yu saw the enemy retreating and immediately pulled Li Wenlong and Mi Hui toward the truck.
It was none other than Wu Yue on the truck. The black weapon in her hands was Tie Zhuzi’s Gatling gun.
Normally, she couldn’t manage the gun’s weight, but she had installed it on a mount at the back of the truck, finally putting it to good use.
Upon reaching the truck, Xiang Yu didn’t waste time interrogating. He hurriedly helped Li Wenlong and Mi Hui onto the vehicle. Tie Zhuzi and Xiao Xuan stayed behind to cover their retreat, moving toward the truck step by step.
The enemy didn’t give chase. Eventually, Xiang Yu’s group all piled into the truck and escaped the mountains. Outside, they found their sports car and sped toward the city.
Sitting inside the car, Xiang Yu’s face looked stern. A complex emotion swirled in his heart, not due to the failure of their action, but because of a glimpse he had caught of a certain figure.
The figure was fully armed, their face obscured, yet something about them felt unmistakably familiar. As they retreated, the person had even stepped forward, standing still and staring blankly at them.
Though it had been an insignificant moment, Xiang Yu saw it vividly.
Back at the hotel, everyone was still shaken. Especially Li Wenlong and Mi Hui, who had assumed they would meet their end there—only to survive miraculously, leaving them deeply introspective.
Wu Yue stood tall, watching Xiang Yu with her chin slightly raised, a smug expression on her face. She felt a certain satisfaction. Back when Xiang Yu had left City No. 1, he had shown blatant disregard for her.
But today had proven just how indispensable she and her team were. Without their timely appearance, Xiang Yu and his group would’ve been doomed.
Feng Lan noticed Xiang Yu’s foul mood and subtly gestured to Wu Yue to hold her tongue.
"Brother, are you okay?" Xiao Xuan asked worriedly, looking at Xiang Yu.
He sensed something was off about Xiang Yu’s demeanor. Regardless of past dangers or crises, Xiang Yu had never been in this state before.
"Now you understand how important we are, don’t you?" Wu Yue exclaimed with smugness. Seeing Xiang Yu’s defeated expression filled her with an inexplicable sense of schadenfreude.
From the moment she met Xiang Yu, he’d always exuded an air of cocky confidence, like an untamed rogue. But now, he seemed utterly despondent.
"Wu Yue, please stop talking," Feng Lan interjected hurriedly and tugged at Wu Yue’s arm.
Xiang Yu ignored her entirely, standing up and heading toward the bedroom. At the door, he turned back to Feng Lan and asked, "Where’s Shi Jian?"
Feng Lan understood his meaning. Before leaving, Xiang Yu had specifically instructed Shi Jian to keep the two locked up.
Now that they were here, it clearly meant Shi Jian hadn’t followed the order.
"I tied him up. Do you really think he’d be able to stop me?" Wu Yue said defiantly, her tone still tinged with lingering frustration.
Her resentment stemmed from Xiang Yu’s decision to exclude her as part of the team—an unmistakable slight against her capability.
Xiang Yu nodded and returned to his room. Naturally, he had anticipated that the young Shi Jian wouldn’t be able to restrain Wu Yue.
"How petty can he be? We saved his life—does he have to act like this about it?" Wu Yue muttered in dissatisfaction after Xiang Yu closed the door.
"I think he’s discovered something," Feng Lan said, furrowing her brow. She knew Xiang Yu better. He wasn’t the type to hold grudges over trivial matters.
Tie Zhuzi and Xiao Xuan exchanged confused glances, still unsure about the situation.
Lying on the bed, Xiang Yu replayed the earlier scene in his mind. The white-clad figure standing at the front evoked an unshakable sense of familiarity.
This defied all logic, as such a feeling only surfaced when related to comrades from the past. But his comrades had died during that mission—none of them should still be alive.
Could he have been mistaken? If so, why had that person stepped forward in the end, gazing at them in silence? Moreover, Xiang Yu faintly felt their stare was tinged with complexity.
Yet, logically speaking, he hadn’t even seen their eyes clearly.
Xiang Yu’s thoughts were a tangled mess. He shook his head, trying to suppress them, but the flashes of the past reemerged vividly in his mind.
A wild thought took root: could it be that his comrades hadn’t perished but had instead been captured?
With this notion in his head, Xiang Yu bolted upright from the bed. Years ago, just after arriving in the city, he’d vaguely felt as if he’d glimpsed his comrades.
But back then, those moments were fleeting—a blur—so he dismissed them as illusions. Now, reflecting on it, the possibility seemed more real.
After all, he hadn’t personally witnessed his comrades’ deaths, nor had he seen their bodies afterward.
"Calm down, calm down..." Xiang Yu murmured to himself, taking a deep breath and forcing himself to think rationally. This idea both thrilled and unsettled him.
If his comrades were still alive... then what would this mean?
