Chapter 1202: Chapter 1144 Something Wrong With Lung

"Thanks to Linda" Melissa murmured to herself as she sat down at the high table. If not for her, she wouldn’t be able to come to this program.

"You’re welcome" Mr. Black smiled.

"Thanks" she replied sharply.

There were a lot of people present at the venue, mostly entertainers, the less popular among them that were looking for opportunities to get signed with companies.

Melissa stared around. If her company was not in crisis right now. There are some entertainers that she would like to sign.

There were also directors and managers of entertainment companies. It was obvious they were surprised to see Melissa at the high table.

Melissa smiled as she made eye contact with some of them. She knew their minds would be filled with lots of doubts. They would wonder if all they heard about her and her company was really true.

The program started with introductions.

"How are your kids?" Mr Black leaned closer to Melissa. "You said they were sick the last time in the meeting" he asked.

"They are in the hospital and their condition is worse" she said sadly.

"I’m sorry for that" Mr Black sympathized with her. "You shouldn’t have come then, I’m sure your presence is needed there" he scoffed.

"Yes. But I have promised to come here" she faked a smile.

"That is before they fell sick" Mr. Black said pitifully. "You can leave, your presence has been felt and you have passed the message we want" he buttressed.

"Thanks, I’m very grateful for this" she appreciated. She had wanted to leave. Her mind was with her children.Few hours later. After the program.Mr. Brown knocked on the door of Mr. Black’s office.

"Come in" Mr. Black answered from inside.

Mr. Brown went in and dropped some files on his desk without saying a word.

"And what are these?" Mr. Black hesitated.

"These are the signs that today’s program passed the right messages" he chuckled. "Go on and check it" he pushed the files closer to him.

"What is this?" Mr. Black was very surprised.

"It is what it looks like" Mr. Brown smiled.

"These are bad information, which company is involved with these?" he asked.

"Murray’s company!" he said loudly.

"What?!" Mr Black expressed in shock. "Melissa has not recovered yet from her current problem" he shook his head.

"I think the entertainment companies now see this as a game. Do you know what this can cause if it gets into the wrong hand?" he asked rhetorically.

"This will bring about utter destruction" he lamented.

"We should work to prevent this, we need to put this under control" he asserted.

"How are we going to do that?" Mr. Black was still baffled.

"We will enforce the law that punishes whoever release bad information about another company" he noted

"Isn’t that what we have been doing?" he chuckled. "Which is clearly not working" he retorted.

"Then we need to do the opposite. Expose bad information to the public and be punished. Bring it to us and be rewarded" he asserted.

"Where will the reward come from?" Mr Black asked again.

"That’s the simplest part. The owners of the information. They will spend everything to keep their secrets hidden" he professed and Mr Black nodded in agreement. In the hospital. The kids had just slept. Melissa heaved a sigh of relief. She could rest now and think about some other things.

She turned around and saw Murray’s father coming in.

"How are they?" he asked quietly.

"They are sleeping. They have become better, anyway" she nodded.

"I’m sure they will be. You should also remember to take care of yourself too" he advised her.

"How’s the company?" she couldn’t stop herself from asking, though she trusted her father in law not to make decisions that would put the company in trouble.

"The company is good. You shouldn’t bother yourself about it. I am handling it using your method. I am also calculating opinions using your ’addicted forum’ as prescribed by your assistant" he joked.

"You are reading netizens’ comments?" she smiled

"I should tell you this. If I have not taken over at your place. I won’t know how efficient those kind of forums are" he praised her.

"Yes they are good. But it is not compulsory to be getting stressed over it" she smiled again.

"Using the forums, I’ve been able to predict that future, correct the pasts and I’ve used it in making a lot of decisions" he revealed.

"I didn’t expect you to like it" she commended.

"Has Murray showed up or called back at least?" he finally asked.

Melissa couldn’t reply. She just sighed and took a deep breath. That was still giving her sadness.

Few hours after Murray’s father left.Melissa looked up and saw Murray. She couldn’t believe it. She was angry for the time he showed up.

But honestly, she felt happy to see him. She didn’t say anything.

He rushed to her with open arms to give her a hug. Melissa moved away quickly before he could reach her. 𝘧𝘳𝘦ℯ𝓌𝘦𝒷𝘯𝑜𝑣𝘦𝓁.𝒸𝘰𝓂

"I’m sorry, I was on a business trip" he apologized weakly.

"Business trip? When your kids are dying" she scolded him.

"They are well when I left and I didn’t wish something like this to happen" he explained himself. "I just came back and heard from the neighbors" he gasped.

"It has been over a week, that they have been rushed down here. Do you know how painful it is for them not to see their father?" she reprimanded him.

"I’m sorry. I will try to make it up to you" he assured her. "I know you must have gone through a lot, alone. I’m sorry" he kept apologizing repeatedly.

"It first started as fever. The doctor said their lungs had inflammations, now they are sicker" Melissa sobbed.

"What? Lung infection. That’s serious. I shouldn’t have gone on that trip" he said remorsefully.

"You should have come back earlier" she moaned.

"You must be really tired. You need to get some rest" she patted her on the shoulder to calm her. "I need to speak to the doctor" he told her
