Unscented-Chapter 1187 - 1129 Coping With It
The next morning. Murray tarried a bit before waking up. He was lucky he wasn’t late.
Last night was great, Melissa was all over him. At first, he thought she wasn’t strong enough to do what she was attempting.
He thought she was only trying to prove she had recovered fully. He expected her to get tired immediately but it didn’t happen as she expected.
Melissa did not only sat on him, riding him like she had never done before. She employed her hands skillfully. She poked his ears, dipped his finger in his mouth and made him lick it at some point in time.
Murray finally passed out. And the next thing he realized was when he just woke up now some minutes past seven.
He rushed to get up and make up for the time he had overslept.
"Shhh!" Melissa came in with a tray. There was a cup probably filled with hot tea or coffee. She hesitated few feet away from him.
All she wore was a shirt, his shirt with no pants. He wasn’t sure if she had underwear on her body.
She teased him by trying to raise up a leg.
"No, no, no" Murray waved a finger. He wouldn’t dare that this morning. He could be late.
"Why are you shaking?" Melissa asked from where she was standing.
"I’m running late already" Murray pointed to the clock.
"We are running late" Melissa replied to correct him. "We are going to the office together" she affirmed.
"Of course not" Murray disagreed again. "You still have to get better" he complained.
"Are you saying I’m not healthy enough for work?" she questioned him.
"Exactly" he asserted.
"But you are the one who passed out last night. If anyone should not be fit for work. It should be you" Melissa turned it to him. 𝗳𝗿𝐞𝕖𝘄𝗲𝕓𝗻𝚘𝚟𝕖𝐥.𝚌𝕠𝕞
Honestly, Melissa had become strong. He witnessed it last night. She was fit to handle the task at the company.
But he didn’t want her to find out about what the company is facing. Things had worsen. The company would soon be on the verge of collapse. And they are also under pressure, they could be sanctioned.
"Is that why you rode me out, to prove you are recovered?" he asked and shook his head.
"Did you enjoy last night? Why don’t you just let me go to the company as a token of appreciation for that?" she requested.
"You want to help you in harming yourself?" he refused. "You are still going to the company once are you are fully well, you can sleep over there if you wish" he said sweetly.
"Okay" Melissa said and turned back.
"Wait! I thought you are bringing tea for me" he said quickly.
"I thought you will let me go to work" she retorted without stopping.
After Murray had left for work.
Melissa went to the company against what he told her. She was very surprised when she got there. A lot of things had changed.
Many staffs were not present. It wasn’t just absence. Many of their desks were covered with dust and cobwebs which meant they were no longer coming to work.
Melissa didn’t see any sign of progress in the company. What was visible was it could collapse anytime soon
She wanted to rush upstairs and challenge Murray for keeping all these from her but she had another idea.
She needed to speak with someone before going to Murray.
Luckily, Murray’s assistant came down and saw her.
"Melissa!" he exclaimed in surprise. "Murray said you won’t be here until the next two weeks" he seemed elated to see her.
"Keep it down and follow me to my office" she instructed him.
"No, I’m sorry" he refused to obey. "The boss just asked me to get some files for him" he complained.
"I just want to ask some few questions from you" she insisted.
"Then ask me right here" the assistant didn’t give in.
"Are you disobeying your boss?" she challenged him. "Who do you think Murray would listen to between us?" she threatened him.
The assistant followed her reluctantly.
She sat down in her office and took her time before saying anything.
The assistant was angry, he was frowning.
"What happened, so many seats are empty. They are not just empty today. It seems no one is using them anymore" she started.
"You didn’t know?" the assistant asked like he was surprised.
"Know what?" Melissa asked back.
"More than two thirds of our staffs had resigned. Some left without saying anything" he related.
"Why are they leaving?" Melissa asked again.
"What do you do when a boat is sinking?" the assistant asked her.
Melissa couldn’t understand why he asked the question but she could remember from a movie she watched when a boat was sinking.
"You throw the heavy loads out of the boat and if the boat was punctured. You get out using lifeboats" she replied slowly.
"Yes, lifeboats" he nodded. "Those people had found lifeboats and they left" he concluded.
"So you are saying this company is now a sinking boat?" she asked again.
"Not just sinking. It might capsize" he made it seem worse.
"What caused that? I won the case" she muttered to herself.
"A lot of things are wrong. I’m just surprised boss didn’t tell you anything" the assistant shook his head.
"Tell me then" she stared into his eyes.
"There was this entertainer that used our company name in deceiving people. Now we are at risk of getting sanctioned" he said sadly.
"The government want to sanction usfor that?" she couldn’t believe Murray could keep something bad like that within himself.
"The few investors left in the business are avoiding us. No funds are coming from anywhere and boss has to pay the staffs" he continued and scoffed like there was more to talk about.
"So what have you been doing to resolve all this?" she asked anxiously.
"Meetings, discussion" he smirked.
"Are you seeing results?" she asked eagerly.
"Results?" the assistant chuckled at her innocence. "The staffs that were to implement those plans have all left" he disclosed.
"No, no,no" Melissa shook his head sadly.
"Yes,yes, yes" the assistant countered. "We are at the brink of collapse" he snorted.
