Unscented-Chapter 1043 - 985 Back to the Earth.

On the day of the funeral,the sky was overcast,the trees faraway were covered with a layer of darkness.

Accompanied by Harley,Nina began to take care of her parent’s funeral.The whole process didn’t last long.When the two came out,the held two dark brown antique urn boxes.

Nina lowered her head,tears dropped from her eyes as she proceeded.

The Paul couple had only one daughter.Fortunately,Nina had Harley,who acquiesced himself as their son-in-law.

After the funeral,Nina stood in front of the cemetery for a long time,her red and swollen eyes were dimmed.

Harley threw his arm around her should and said in the gentlest of his voice,

"Nina,Mom and dad are resting now.You must live your life for them."

"Yes,I do understand."Nina nodded.Her parents traded their lives for she and True to survive.A few days back,they were living happily,but now,they’re lying cold in the cemetery.Nina felt deeply guilty.

Tom on the other side,arrived the lottery center feeling uneasy and anxious.He handed the wining lottery to one of the staff to confirm.

"Congratulations,Mr Knowles!You’re so lucky!"The staff said with a smile,as he shook hands with Tom.

"You’re the only winner of the first prize this year.The cash prize is also very high.

"Thank you.Can I receive my money now?"Tom asked impatiently.

"Okay,you can come in and undergo the formalities directly."Hearing the staff’s response,Tom thanked him

and scurried in.

After some time,Tom walked out of the lottery center as a certified millionaire.His phone beep indicating that his bonus had been wired to his account.Seeing the long string of numbers,he couldn’t contend his excitement.

He had never seen so much money throughout his existence on earth.He knew that even if he had turned up to work each hour of the day,he would have never been able to make such amount.

Tom arrived at the cemetery as soon as possible.The funeral was over,he was late.He watched from a distance,Harley helped Nina open the door if the car.Jasmine handed True who was sleeping to Nina.

"I’m sorry that I’m late Nina."Tom muttered behind a tree on the street,he watched till the car she entered had disappeared.He boarded a taxi immediately.He was no longer the poor boy,even though his family background could not be compared with Harley’s,he now had the means of providing Nina with a better life.

Money sparks confidence!

Tom followed them all the way to the hotel,he inquired from the receptionist about Nina’s room number.

Harley was in the hotel with Nina.Nina was very grateful to Harley for helping he with the funeral.

"Thank you,Harley."Nina said with a smile.

"My parents funeral went well because of your help."

Harley was uncomfortable with Nina’s appreciative speech.He turned to her and said,

"Even if you don’t accept me as your man,in still True’s father.It’s my responsibility to give my daughter’s grandparents a befitting burial."

Although what Harley said was the truth.She was sti grateful to him,but didn’t want to get entangled with him any longer.

After some moments of silence,Nina said flatly,

"Harley,I’ll be leaving this city soon."

This was the first time that Nina had told Harley about it.He was numbed.

"What did you say?Where are you going?"He questioned as his heart pounded faster.

Nina thought for a while then said,

"I haven’t decided yet."She didn’t dare tell him it was London,she was afraid that he would trace her.

"Are you taking True along?*Harley questioned nervously as his palm began to itch.Nina nodded affirmatively and glanced at her daughter who laid on the bed.

Her daughter was her only succour now.

"Yea,I have to bring to take True with me.Otherwise,what will be the meaning of my life?"

Harley suddenly understood the reason she didn’t hearken to his numerous pleas.

Harley felt a tantrum going on his mind,he tried to suppress his emotions,he stared at her indifferent face and asked,

"When will you be back?"

"We might not return."Nina’s voice was cold and precised.Nothing else mattered to her than raising her daughter.

"What?"Harley frowned and asked impatiently,

"Won’t you take flowers to your parents graves in future?"Nina looked down without saying anything.

She was an atheist.Even if she supplied them flowers each day of her life on earth,her parents would never come back to life.Bluntly,it was just an act done to comfort the living.

"I will remember them in my own way."Nina answered calmly.The atmosphere in the room became cold,as silence followed.

Despite knowing that he might be rejected,Harley took his chances and said,

"Can I go with you?We’ll start over in a place where no one knows us.We’ll raise True together,watch her go to college and then find a job,get married and.."

Harley imagination was wonderful,but before he could complete his sentence,he was interrupted by Nina who said,

"No,you have your mother and family.In fact we’re not from the same world."

Reminiscing on the days she lived in Harley’s family home.Nina felt that it was a mistake to have even consented to having anything intimate with him.

Some fate were destined to amount to nothing!

Although she refused to believe in fate.She still found her life constantly being controlled by it.

"We’re not from the same world?Why do you think so?"Harley asked in disbelief.He couldn’t accept that Nina was saying goodbye to him.

Harley held Nina’s right hand tightly and explained,

"We share a common language.Now we have a daughter.Isn’t that enough reason for us to be together?"

Nina bit her lower lips and said nothing.She didn’t deny the fact that they were compatible in many ways,but marriage required way more than that.

"Harley,let’s just stop torturing each other.Just let me go."Nina pulled her hand away from his.Her daughter was awakened due to their conversation.Nina immediately picked her up and patted her comfortably.

"You can leave now.Don’t come to the hotel again.No amount of persuasion would change my mind."

"Okay,I’ll go."Staring at her resolute face,Harley turned around and left dejectedly.
