"Grandpa,what I choose to do with my life is none of your business!"Murray stated before walking out of the door.

Mr.Marc threw his crutches angrily at him,he lost his balance and fell on the sofa.Mrs Gibson and Claire hurried to support him.

"Grandpa are you okay?"Claire asked panicking and uncertain of what to do.

"Call the ambulance!"Mrs Timothy yelled to no one in particular.Claire scurried to her room,she grabbed her phone which laid on the bed,and called for an ambulance.

The doctors took Mr Marc into the ward.Claire and Mrs Gibson sat in the waiting room,awaiting the feedback from them.

"Claire?"Mrs Gibson initiated,Claire’s turned her worried face to her,urging her to go on.

"You should take advantage of this opportunity,now is the time for you to be on Murray’s good book"she whispered audibly.Claire was a bit worried and confused.She felt the entire situation was extremely complicated.

"Can they really get divorce so easily?"Claire muttered calmly.

Mrs Timothy shook her head affirmatively and added,

"It’s really so easy for them to get divorced,as long as they both consent,it’s a piece of cake!"Hearing those word,Claire felt nostalgic.She was glad they were going apart,but she wasn’t happy that it would be for her cause.

After some moments,Mr Marc was pushed out from by ward by the nurses.

Claire and Mrs Timothy headed to them and inquired in unison,

"How’s his health?"

"Mr Marc is getting old,his health is deteriorating.You should pay more attention to him,and he shouldn’t be infuriated,hence he might get involved in a more harming accident."The doctor explained calmly while Mrs Gibson nodded.

"We’ll be transferring him to another ward now for further treatment"The doctor added as he excused himself,they nurses rolled Mr Marc who laid faced up to another ward.

Mrs Gibson paced around the ward,Claire sat quietly thinking on what to do.Claire walked up to Mrs Gibson and asked,

"What should I do now?"

Mrs Gibson patted her on the shoulder and asked her to come with up.

On their way out of the hospital,Mrs Gibson said,

"You should apologize to Melissa and seek her forgiveness.Don’t let them divorce on your cause"

"Why should I apologize to her?,Didn’t we hope for them to get a divorce some day?"Claire asked confusingly.

Mrs Gibson knocked her on the head and said,

"You’re so silly.I know Melissa very well,she has reached the peak,your pleas won’t change her mind!"

Claire shook her head,subconsciously agreeing to what Mrs Timothy had said.

Although they didn’t know why Murray consented to the divorce,but since he did,it was bound to happen!

Claire and Mrs Gibson left the hospital.Claire headed straight to Melissa’s company.She was certain she’ll find her there. 𝒻𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝘯𝘰𝑣ℯ𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝘮

As soon as she arrived the company,she was denied entry by the security guard.

"Let me in!I need to see Melissa!"Claire was in a fit of pique with the guard.

"sorry,boss has a rule,no one is allowed in without an appointment!"The guard replied dutifully.Claire cussed Melissa inwardly.

Renita walked into the company,she sighted Claire waving her hands.She inquired from security guard about the situation.

"Are you Miss Gibson?"Renita questioned Claire the moment the guard was done narrating what occured.

"Yes ma’am,I am Claire Gibson"Claire replied enthusiastically.

"Come with me"Renita led Claire into the building,Claire turned and shot light eye lasers at the guard before trailing behind Renita.Renita,along with Claire entered into Melissa’s office.

"You have a guest!"Renita announced the moment she got into Melissa’s office.

Melissa’s face lighted in confusion,she stared at Claire for a while before asking,

"What are you doing here?"

Claire went on her knee the moment she saw Melissa,she pleaded saying,

"I’m sorry Melissa,it’s all my fault,please do not divorce Murray!"

Melissa had never discussed anything concerning her family in the company,hence Renita was devoid of the latest.

"Get up!"Melissa ordered,Claire’s act of remorse was shameful to her.

"Promise me you won’t divorce Murray,or I won’t get up!"Claire kept crying as though her life depended on Melissa’s consent.

Melissa glanced at her from her seat and muttered,

"Isn’t this what you always wanted?Why aren’t you happy,huh?"

"No,I wanted no such thing!,I had never wanted to ruin the relationship between you two.The children were made by me,and should be my responsibility.Mr Marc is also hospitalized due to the news,I really don’t want to be the reason why a happy family becomes destroyed."Claire stated while sniffing.

Melissa listened as though she was listening to a strangers story,she sighed and added,

"You’ve said it all,there’s really no need to manoeuver.You shouldn’t continue creating a scene in here."Melissa could feel that Claire’s apology wasn’t out of sincerity,but to test her level of determination.

"I’ve been eager to apologize to you for a long time now.I finally have the chance today,I’m really asking for your forgiveness.I’m willing to leave with my children!"Claire added.Her speech which was meant to activate some sympathy in Melissa’s heart,ended up amusing Melissa,as she laugh lightly.

"You may leave now Claire,your words are needless now"Melissa muttered,she glanced at Renita signaling at her to take her away from her office.

Renita pulled Claire up and said,

"Let’s go.I’ll lead you out."

Claire kept struggling with Renita,she didn’t want to leave,after hesitating for a while,she finally left.

When Renita returned to the office,she stared at Melissa worriedly and asked,

"Why didn’t you inform me about the happenings at home?"

Melissa smiled bitterly and responded.

"What do you mean?,I didn’t want to bore you with the troubles going on in my messy life!"

"If I had known you had troubles at home,I wouldn’t have kept so many things on your shoulders.Why didn’t you tell us?,Haven’t you ever considered us as your friends?"Renita questioned,staring deep into her face for answers.

Although the two were superior and subordinate,and Melissa founded the company,their relationship were like that of partners,they needed each other to attend great heights.

Melissa patted her on the shoulder and said,

"Don’t worry,everything will be fine.I can handle it myself,including the company."With that Melissa sent Renita back to her desk,she sent a message to Murray,informing him about the time.

Murray and Melissa stood in front of the divorce registration counter.

"Have you both made up your minds to go on with this?,This is the last chance to have a change of mind"The barrister stated calmly.
