Chapter 72: Chapter 72: Han Family Head

It was already past nine in the evening when Lin Kuang left the Yang Family, and by the time he returned to the Liu Family, it was 9:40 PM.

Entering the living room, he saw the little Witch watching TV, just as he had expected. Liu Shilin, who was feeling unwell, was nowhere to be seen.

"Hey, little Witch," Lin Kuang said with a smile, sitting down beside her.

The little Witch rolled her eyes at him and scooted away, pointedly ignoring him. Lin Kuang wasn’t one to cozy up to a cold shoulder, so he simply turned and went to his room. Seeing him leave, the little Witch huffed in clear annoyance. As for why she was so vexed, only the heavens knew.

Back in his room, Lin Kuang fell asleep almost instantly, and the sound of his faint snores soon filled the air.

Around midnight, Lin Kuang’s eyes snapped open. A smile touched his lips as he checked the time. Time to pay a visit to the Han Family. He straightened his clothes and left. By this time, both Liu Shilin and the little Witch were asleep.

Lin Kuang drove toward the Han Family residence. The file Zhang Lianmei had given him clearly marked the address; it even documented, in meticulous detail, every mistress kept by Han Rong, the Han Family Head.

He arrived at the Han residence in less than half an hour, only to find that Han Rong was not there. Lin Kuang couldn’t help but feel resigned. It seemed he had no choice but to start checking the homes of Han Rong’s mistresses one by one.

After coming up empty twice more, Lin Kuang arrived at a residential complex. The neighborhood wasn’t overly luxurious, just a bit nicer than average.

After getting his bearings, Lin Kuang entered one of the buildings and took the elevator to the sixth floor. 602, this should be it, he thought, looking at the room number.

He placed his palm over the keyhole. A faint gleam of light flashed from his hand, and the door clicked open. Lin Kuang slipped inside, closing the door quietly behind him.

His ears twitched, and a cold smile touched his lips. The old fellow certainly has some stamina, still going at it this late. With that thought, he moved toward one of the bedrooms.

The closer he got, the louder the hurried moans and wet slapping sounds from within the bedroom became. Clearly, the two people inside were in the throes of passion.

Lin Kuang abruptly opened the bedroom door and walked in silently. Inside, a man and a woman were entwined on the bed, seemingly at a climactic moment and completely oblivious to his arrival.

After watching for a moment, Lin Kuang let out a soft cough. "Ahem, excuse me, you two. Would you mind stopping for a moment?"

The sudden voice startled Han Rong, who was in the middle of his pleasure. He instinctively pulled a Desert Eagle from under the pillow, pointing the dark muzzle at Lin Kuang.

Lin Kuang was genuinely surprised by Han Rong’s swift and clean movements. The old guy was clearly well-practiced.

Just as Han Rong was about to fire, Lin Kuang’s figure vanished. The older man was so shocked he thought his eyes were playing tricks on him. An instant later, he felt a hand clamp down on his wrist. When he turned his head, he saw that his Desert Eagle was already in Lin Kuang’s grasp.

At this, Han Rong’s expression changed drastically, sheer horror flashing in his eyes.

The naked woman stared at Lin Kuang in terror, her mouth opening to scream. Before a sound could escape, Lin Kuang chopped the back of her neck with the butt of the Desert Eagle, knocking her unconscious.

"Mr. Han," Lin Kuang said in a playful tone, looking at the man struggling to maintain his composure. "Let’s go talk outside."

Hearing this, Han Rong took a deep breath. "Okay."

As he spoke, Han Rong got up to get dressed, his hand surreptitiously reaching for the pillow as if to grab something. It was a subtle movement, and Han Rong angled his body to block Lin Kuang’s view, making it nearly impossible to spot.

However, the instant his fingers brushed against the pillow, he heard a sharp whoosh of air. The next moment, a piercing pain shot through his left wrist, followed by the sickening sound of something shattering.

"Mr. Han, you’d best not try any funny business," Lin Kuang said coolly, his voice like a whisper from the Nine Nether Hell that made Han Rong shudder involuntarily. "Otherwise, the next thing I cripple won’t be your left wrist, but your head."

Ignoring the agonizing pain in his wrist, Han Rong gritted his teeth and finished dressing. He knew he had encountered a truly ruthless character tonight. Whether it was Lin Kuang’s earlier actions or his detection of that hidden movement just now, none of it was something an ordinary person could do.

"Let’s go," Lin Kuang said with a smile, seeing that Han Rong was dressed.

Han Rong didn’t dare resist, walking obediently ahead. The two of them made their way to the living room and took seats facing each other.

"Han Rong. Mr. Han, correct?" Lin Kuang asked with a smile, looking at the man’s ashen face.

"Yes, that’s me. What do you want?" Han Rong asked, his face grim as he endured the throbbing pain in his wrist. 𝑓𝓇𝘦ℯ𝘸𝘦𝑏𝓃𝑜𝘷ℯ𝑙.𝑐𝑜𝓂

He knew this man hadn’t come to kill him; otherwise, he wouldn’t be wasting time with words. But if not to kill me, then what for? Money? Judging by the man’s demeanor, that doesn’t seem likely either.

"Of course I have business with you," Lin Kuang began, his smile never wavering. "It’s nothing too serious. Just a simple warning. Tell your son and daughter not to be so brazen. It’s an unbecoming trait.

"Especially your daughter, Han Qiaoqiao. Tell her to leave Yashi alone. If she doesn’t, she’ll regret it for the rest of her life. In fact, your entire Han Family will suffer the consequences.

"Don’t for a second think I’m joking. If this escalates, the person backing you won’t be able to save you. Trust me on this. I don’t joke with strangers."

Lin Kuang maintained his smile the entire time he spoke. Yet, for some reason, looking at that smiling face made Han Rong feel as if he were staring down a bloodthirsty beast. The feeling made him tremble. What terrified him most was that Lin Kuang knew he had a backer. He just wasn’t sure if this man knew exactly who that backer was.

Still, no matter what, Han Rong did not want to offend the man before him. As a retired soldier himself, he could sense the potent, blood-soaked aura around Lin Kuang—the kind of presence one only gains after taking countless lives.

"Rest assured," Han Rong said, every trace of his usual arrogance gone. "I will absolutely keep my children in line. I give you my word."
