Chapter 62: Chapter 62 Thick-skinned

"Hi, Ruoxi," Lin Kuang said with a smile, walking over as Yang Ruoxi finished her Tai Chi practice.

"Hi, Running Boy," Yang Ruoxi responded, beaming.

Seeing her bright smile, Lin Kuang couldn’t help but smile back. "How are you feeling? Nothing uncomfortable, right?"

"Mhm, I feel great. Much better than before," Yang Ruoxi said, clearly in an excellent mood.

Hearing this, Lin Kuang nodded. "That’s good. As long as you’re okay, that’s all that matters."

"Yeah. I have to go now. Are you going to walk me back?" Yang Ruoxi asked with a smile, glancing at the time.

"Of course," Lin Kuang replied. "But I’m curious, what do you do? Why do you have to leave so early?" Though they had known each other for a few days, he still had no idea what she did.

"You’re so dense. I go to school, of course. What else would I be doing?" Yang Ruoxi retorted with an unimpressed look.

Hearing this, Lin Kuang was stunned. He had assumed her poor health would prevent her from attending school and never expected she was still a student.

"Oh, is that so? I just assumed you weren’t in school," Lin Kuang said a bit awkwardly as they walked.

"You’re the one who doesn’t go to school! My grades are excellent. I get a scholarship every year!" Yang Ruoxi announced proudly, clearly pleased with her academic performance.

Lin Kuang felt a genuine sense of admiration for her. Despite having an Extreme Yin Body and constantly battling her illness, she still managed to keep up with her studies and even win scholarships. It was impossible not to be impressed by this girl.

The two of them chatted and laughed as they returned to Yang Ruoxi’s villa.

Yang Ruotong was in the kitchen preparing breakfast. When she saw Lin Kuang, she greeted him with a warm smile, and Lin Kuang smiled back in response. Dressed in loungewear, Yang Ruotong was incredibly charming. Having had a child, she carried the unique aura of a young mother—an aura undoubtedly alluring to men, especially since she was such a great beauty.

"Auntie’s boyfriend, good morning." At that moment, little Xinxin, wearing teddy bear pajamas, toddled over from somewhere to greet Lin Kuang.

"Ahem. Morning, Xinxin," Lin Kuang said awkwardly, though he was inwardly pleased. He was very fond of this quirky little girl.

"Don’t talk nonsense, Xinxin!" Yang Ruoxi snapped, her pretty face flushing red.

"But it’s so obvious you two feel that way about each other! Why can’t I say it? The world of adults is so hard to understand," little Xinxin said with a helpless shake of her head before wiggling her little bottom and toddling off to find her mom.

Hearing Xinxin’s parting words, Yang Ruoxi felt utterly helpless. She looked up and caught Lin Kuang staring at her with a mischievous grin. Her pretty face instantly turned crimson, and she glared at him. "What are you looking at!"

"Uh, I was just going to say, isn’t it about time for your treatment?" Lin Kuang said, feeling rather helpless himself. I was just smiling at you. What’s with the fierce look?

"Fine, let’s go then," Yang Ruoxi said irritably, starting up the stairs.

Lin Kuang quickly followed her, and the two of them went into Yang Ruoxi’s room. After the first two sessions, Yang Ruoxi knew exactly what to do. She got on the bed, sat cross-legged, and waited quietly.

Seeing her seated, Lin Kuang quickly sat down behind her. Before starting the treatment, he asked with a grin, "Ruoxi, was what Xinxin said earlier true?"

Yang Ruoxi was mentally preparing herself, and his words made her face heat up. She knew exactly what he was referring to. "Kids say the darndest things; you can’t take them seriously," she said, her pretty face flushing a brilliant crimson. "Besides, so many guys are trying to woo me. You’ll have to get in line at the very back."

"Alright, I’m not in a hurry. I can wait," Lin Kuang said with a laugh. "Come on, let’s begin the treatment."

She had expected him to say something more, but he went straight to the treatment. It left her a little speechless. His flirting skills were so weak.

With that thought, Yang Ruoxi said no more and began to circulate the power of Tai Chi in her body, coordinating with Lin Kuang. He did the same, channeling his extremely yang True Qi into her body. Through his True Qi, Lin Kuang was pleasantly surprised to sense her condition. Her recovery was going remarkably well, a result only possible thanks to the power of Tai Chi.

This time, they continued for half an hour before stopping.

"How do you feel?" Lin Kuang asked with a smile as he got off the bed.

"Pretty good," Yang Ruoxi said with a smile. "My body feels warm all over, much better than usual. I haven’t taken any medicine for the past two days, and I haven’t had any sudden fainting spells."

Previously, she would faint at least once a day, and the frequency had only been increasing recently. If Lin Kuang hadn’t appeared, she truly might not have had much time left. Fortunately, with his help, these problems were being resolved.

"Mhm, that’s good," Lin Kuang said with a smile. "If things keep progressing like this, the Extreme Yin Cold Qi in your body will be absorbed by the Tai Chi power even faster. You’ll be all better before you know it."

If all the Extreme Yin Cold Qi in her body were absorbed by the Tai Chi power and combined with his own extremely yang True Qi, she could develop a pseudo Yin-Yang Body. Even though it would only be a ’pseudo’ version, Lin Kuang was still excited to see how Yang Ruoxi would change in the future. 𝓯𝓻𝓮𝙚𝙬𝓮𝙗𝒏𝙤𝒗𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝒐𝓶

"Ruoxi, Mr. Lin, come on down. Breakfast is ready," Yang Ruotong called from downstairs, her gentle voice pleasant to the ear.

"She’s asking me to stay for breakfast?" Lin Kuang whispered to Yang Ruoxi.

"Oh, you can choose not to eat. No one’s forcing you," Yang Ruoxi replied with a smile.

"In that case, I’ll be shameless and stay for a meal," Lin Kuang said with a grin. The chance to eat with Yang Ruoxi is a pretty great thing.

"I didn’t realize you were so thick-skinned," Yang Ruoxi muttered, rolling her eyes at him as she started downstairs.

Lin Kuang pinched his cheek. "Is my skin really that thick?" he muttered to himself in bemusement. "Doesn’t seem like it. It’s the same as anyone else’s." Still muttering, he followed Yang Ruoxi down to the dining room.

Breakfast was simple: rice porridge, boiled eggs, steaming hot buns, jam, slices of bread, fried eggs, and milk.

"Please, help yourself, Mr. Lin," Yang Ruotong said with a smile as he sat down. "It’s nothing fancy, so I hope you don’t mind."
