Unrivaled Soldier in the City-Chapter 61 Ready to Weep
"Hey, you bastard, you scared me!"
Hearing Lin Kuang’s words, the little witch grumbled, though her beautiful eyes were sizing him up as if he were an alien.
"Uh, why are you looking at me like that? Is there something on my face?" Lin Kuang asked curiously, touching his own cheek.
"No, I’m just curious how you managed to trick a goddess into having dinner with you!" the little witch huffed, clearly displeased with him.
"Goddess? Who’s the goddess?" Lin Kuang asked, puzzled, as he genuinely had no idea who she was talking about.
"Hmph, the goddess is Fan Bingbing! Now, tell me! How did you trick her into having dinner with you?" the little witch demanded grumpily.
She had been trying to get Fan Bingbing’s autograph for ages and had never succeeded. The fact that the detestable Lin Kuang had the opportunity to have dinner with Fan Bingbing made the little witch incredibly upset.
"Ah, you mean Bingbing. I saved her on a plane once, and she invited me to dinner to thank me. It was nothing," Lin Kuang said with a laugh.
"Hmph, it must have been a trap you set on purpose! Playing the hero saving the damsel in distress just to get this opportunity. You’re shameless!" the little witch retorted, convinced her reasoning was sound, which only made her more annoyed with Lin Kuang.
Hearing this, Lin Kuang felt incredibly frustrated. How could I possibly be connected to Black Scorpion? That was his scheme; it had nothing to do with me. This little witch is just being completely unreasonable.
"I can’t be bothered with you. I’m going to wash up," he said. With that, Lin Kuang returned to his room, shutting the door firmly behind him with a bang.
"Sis, look, just look! Look at that bastard’s attitude! How dare he treat me like this!" the little witch complained irritably, gritting her teeth in anger.
"Come on, I’ve told you before, there’s nothing going on between Lin Kuang and Fan Bingbing," Liu Shilin said somewhat helplessly.
"I don’t believe it. That guy is definitely not a good person!" the little witch huffed.
Liu Shilin glanced at her helplessly but said nothing, turning her attention back to the captivating soap opera on the screen.
Meanwhile, Lin Kuang came out of his room, having changed his clothes, and went directly into the bathroom. After brushing his teeth and taking a quick shower, he finally left.
When he reemerged into the living room, Liu Shilin had already left. Only the little witch remained, watching TV.
Glancing at the little witch, Lin Kuang paid her no mind and walked straight toward his room.
"Hey, bastard, stop right there!" the little witch called out.
"I have a name. It’s Lin Kuang," he replied indifferently, continuing toward his room.
"Hey, bastard, I told you to stop!" the little witch exclaimed, standing up from the couch in frustration.
Lin Kuang ignored her and kept walking.
Seeing this, the little witch ground her teeth in anger, her ample chest heaving.
"Lin Kuang, I said stop!" she growled in a low voice.
"Oh? What do you want?" Lin Kuang asked with a smile as he turned around.
"Um... you, come here for a second!" the little witch said, her doll-like face blushing slightly, as if she were about to say something embarrassing.
Seeing this, Lin Kuang looked at her in confusion. Could she be thinking about last night? After all, those scenes were so enchanting that the memory still makes my heart flutter.
With that thought, he walked over to the sofa and asked with a smile, "What is it?"
"N-nothing... I just wanted to ask about your relationship with the goddess," the little witch mumbled with her head lowered, her reluctant tone making it clear she didn’t want to be asking.
"Oh, it’s fine. We’re just normal friends," Lin Kuang said with a laugh, watching her curiously, wondering what she was up to.
"Then... then, can you get the goddess’s autograph? I... I want an autographed poster or CD," the little witch said. Each word seemed to be dragged out of her reluctantly.
"Ah, I see. That shouldn’t be a problem. It’s just an autograph, after all," Lin Kuang said after considering his relationship with Fan Bingbing.
"Oh, then... that’s great. Next time you see the goddess, get an autographed photo for me," the little witch said again. She let out a small sigh of relief and lifted her head to look at him.
Hearing this, Lin Kuang smiled faintly. "I could, but... why should I help you?"
Hearing his words, the little witch froze, staring at him dumbfounded. That’s right, why should he help me?
She truly couldn’t think of a single reason for him to help her, especially since she was never nice to him. As this realization sank in, her face turned an even deeper shade of red from sheer embarrassment. A sense of grievance welled up inside her, and her beautiful large eyes suddenly brimmed with tears.
Lin Kuang had only meant to tease her, but he was startled to see the usually feisty little witch look so vulnerable.
"Ahem, little witch, calm down, calm down! I’ll definitely get it for you next time I see her. Just wait here at home, I promise I’ll get it for you!" Lin Kuang said hastily. He had no idea how to comfort a crying girl and really didn’t want to find out.
The little witch was already feeling aggrieved, so when she heard Lin Kuang give in, a surge of triumph washed over her. Hmph, this is my signature move. How could it possibly not work on you? she thought smugly. 𝚏𝐫𝚎𝗲𝕨𝐞𝐛𝕟𝚘𝐯𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝗺
In truth, while the little witch was genuinely aggrieved, most of her reaction was an act. After all, she wasn’t a child. She wouldn’t cry so easily, especially not in front of someone as annoying as Lin Kuang.
"That’s more like it. It’s a deal, then. Let me know when you get the autograph!" the little witch suddenly declared, standing up to leave.
The moment she stood up, Lin Kuang caught a distinct, sly gleam in her large eyes.
Wait... it seems... I think I’ve been played by this girl, he thought in utter frustration. For someone as astute as him to be tricked by a young girl was incredibly vexing.
Forget it. A real man doesn’t fight with a woman. Yeah, I just can’t be bothered with her, Lin Kuang consoled himself.
He then turned off the TV, which she had left on, and returned to his room. Back inside, he saw a text from Fan Bingbing and chatted with her for a while before finally going to sleep.
「The night passed uneventfully.」
The next morning, Lin Kuang got up early. After freshening up, he put on his tracksuit and headed straight for the small square.
Upon arriving at the small square, Lin Kuang began to jog quietly. At precisely six-ten, Yang Ruoxi’s lovely figure appeared right on time.
