Unrivaled Soldier in the City-Chapter 56: One Shot Solution
"Uh, no worries, Shilin. Why would I get mad at a kid?" Lin Kuang said with a smile, glancing at Liu Shilin.
Hearing his words, the Witch immediately flared up. Her doll-like face turned bright red with anger, and her ample chest heaved violently. "You bastard! Who are you calling a kid? Who’s a kid? Spit it out!"
"Who did I mention? It’s not like I named anyone, did I?" Lin Kuang said with a wronged expression, looking at the Witch’s angry little face.
"You... you... you bastard! You pervert! Aaaargh!" The infuriated Witch started jumping around in the car, which only made her ample chest seem all the more alluring.
Lin Kuang ignored the furious Witch and drove toward home. He wasn’t speeding, but he occasionally glanced at his rearview mirror. A white Jinbei van was tailing him. He knew at a glance they were on his tail. After all my years in the army, how could I not spot such an obvious tail? I’ll wait for a chance to deal with you guys. This isn’t the right place.
With that thought, Lin Kuang suddenly accelerated. The car remained perfectly stable, not shaking violently despite the burst of speed.
"Hey, why are you driving so fast?!" the Witch demanded, annoyed as she watched Lin Kuang continuously accelerate and overtake other cars.
"We’re being followed by that white Jinbei van behind us," Lin Kuang said with a smile, his tone remarkably calm. "Don’t worry, I’ll take care of it in ten minutes." Besides, I can’t hide it even if I want to. They’ll both see when I make my move later anyway.
Hearing his words, Liu Shilin and the Witch both turned to look behind them. Sure enough, a white Jinbei van was sticking close to their tail.
Having witnessed Lin Kuang’s ruthlessness earlier that day, the Witch wasn’t particularly worried. In fact, she felt a thrill of excitement. Liu Shilin, however, grew anxious. Being more cautious by nature, she knew such matters could become complicated and potentially involve many people.
"Lin Kuang, if this gets out of hand, shouldn’t we call the police?" she asked tentatively.
"No need, Sis. Just watch. This guy will handle it," the Witch said, practically buzzing with anticipation.
"Shilin, don’t worry," Lin Kuang said with a smile, glancing at her in the rearview mirror. "Calling the police would be useless; they can’t handle guys like this. Some problems require unconventional solutions. Just sit back and relax."
Hearing this, Liu Shilin fell silent. She understood what he meant. She just didn’t want him to take any risks.
"Damn, that kid’s got skills. He’s driving so fast, but the car is so steady. Third Bro, can you keep up?" the man in his thirties in the passenger seat muttered.
"Don’t worry, Big Bro. When have I ever screwed up behind the wheel?" the driver, Third Bro, replied confidently. The man called Big Bro nodded, apparently having great faith in him.
Lin Kuang wasn’t too concerned about the van. He just didn’t want to cause a scene in the city, or he would have dealt with them already. After another ten minutes, the traffic thinned out. They were heading toward the villa district, which was outside the city center, so there were naturally fewer cars. Seeing no other vehicles around—just their white Jinbei escort—a smile touched Lin Kuang’s lips. Time to take care of you. 𝐟𝕣𝗲𝕖𝕨𝗲𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝗲𝚕.𝗰𝚘𝐦
With that thought, he pulled out a pistol and aimed it at the Jinbei van behind them.
The man in the passenger seat of the van jumped when he saw the gun. Even they wouldn’t dare open fire on a public road, yet Lin Kuang had brazenly drawn a pistol. This was insane audacity! "Third Bro, swerve! The kid’s gonna shoot!" he yelled.
His driver had already seen it, however. He yanked the steering wheel hard, trying to swerve behind Lin Kuang’s car for cover.
This is the exact opportunity I was waiting for! I could have shot earlier, but they were driving straight, so they might have been able to keep control even with a blown tire. But if a tire blows out during a sharp turn like this, the car is guaranteed to flip!
He pulled the trigger. The bullet struck the tire precisely as the van was turning.
BANG! The shot rang out.
POP! The tire burst.
In the next instant, the van seemed to lose all control. It tumbled over and over several times on the wide road before finally grinding to a halt.
As for whether anyone inside was hurt, Lin Kuang couldn’t care less. It made no difference to him if people like that lived or died. He put the gun away and continued driving calmly, his expression so placid it was as if nothing had happened at all.
"Oh, it’s over already? That was way too fast. I was hoping for a big fight," the Witch said with a pout.
Liu Shilin had been worried, but the Witch’s comment made her not know whether to laugh or cry, and her anxiety vanished without a trace.
"You..." Liu Shilin said resignedly, patting the Witch on the head. "Aren’t you afraid of causing chaos wherever you go?"
"Of course not. As long as he’s around, he’ll take care of everything," the Witch mumbled with a pout, acting as if Lin Kuang could solve any problem.
"That’s enough out of you. Lin Kuang isn’t omnipotent. Don’t be so reckless next time," Liu Shilin said exasperatedly. At her words, the Witch just stuck out her tongue and fell silent.
When they got home, Lin Kuang parked the car in the courtyard. The three of them got out and went inside the villa. Lin Kuang went straight to his room and returned a moment later, holding two tickets for Fan Bingbing’s concert.
Approaching the two women, he handed them the tickets. "Shilin, Witch, these are for Fan Bingbing’s concert on Saturday night. One for each of you."
"Tickets to Fan Bingbing’s concert?! Oh my god! Are these real?" the Witch shrieked in surprise, snatching them from his hand. "How did you get these? I’ve been pulling strings for ages and couldn’t get any, and yours are even VIP tickets!"
"Weren’t you online today? Didn’t you see the headlines?" Liu Shilin asked, exasperated by the Witch’s shocked reaction.
"Huh? What headlines? Sis, what happened?" the Witch asked, completely baffled, as she hadn’t been online at all that day.
