Chapter 212: Chapter 212: Getting Worse and Worse

Upon hearing this, Lin Kuang laughed and nodded. "Of course I’m going."

"Are you stupid?! He suggested both the time and place. What will you do if he has people waiting there in an ambush? Isn’t that just courting death? Are you dumb?!" the Witch said with agitation, her ample bosom swaying gently as she spoke.

"Whoa, why so worked up? Are you worried about me?" Lin Kuang was stunned for a moment, then asked with a smile.

Hearing Lin Kuang’s words, the Witch was also taken aback. She turned her head away, her face blushing. "It’s not you I care about! I’m worried about what my sister would do if you died!" the Witch said indignantly.

But as the words reached Lin Kuang’s ears, they carried a sour, jealous tang.

"It’s okay. Gu Yue isn’t Wang Ya Hao. If Wang Ya Hao had challenged me to a duel, then yes, I’d believe he would pull some dirty tricks. But this is Gu Yue. He wouldn’t do such a thing. Let me put it this way: the strong have their own dignity. There are some things they disdain to do. Setting an ambush, for example, is something Gu Yue would consider beneath him."

Lin Kuang explained with a smile. Some things were actually quite simple. It was just that many people hadn’t reached that level, so they consistently imagined simple matters to be complex when, in reality, they weren’t.

Hearing Lin Kuang’s words, the Witch still didn’t quite understand, but she kept silent.

It wasn’t until they were almost home that the Witch finally spoke. "Well, then... be careful. We don’t want to hear the news of your death."

"Relax. I haven’t made you mine yet, so how could I bear to die?" Lin Kuang said with a grin, looking at the Witch’s delicate, doll-like face.

At his words, the Witch’s delicate face blushed. She shot Lin Kuang an annoyed glance but said nothing. A small thrill of excitement stirred in her heart because of what he’d said. Maybe it was anticipation?

At that moment, Lin Kuang drove the car into the estate, and they both got out.

Meanwhile, Liu Shilin, who was in the living room, heard the car arrive and hurriedly ran out. Although the Witch had sent news of her safety much earlier, Liu Shilin had still been worried sick that she and Lin Kuang had not yet returned.

"Shiyu, are you alright?" Liu Shilin asked with a face full of concern, rushing up to her sister.

Hearing the question, the Witch playfully stuck out her tongue. "Nope, I’m fine. Look." To prove she was unharmed, she even deliberately spun around on the spot.

Seeing this, Liu Shilin was finally able to breathe a sigh of relief.

Turning her head, Liu Shilin’s beautiful eyes fell upon Lin Kuang. "Lin Kuang, thank you," she said gratefully. If it weren’t for Lin Kuang, who knows what the Witch would have gone through. For a woman, some experiences can be a devastating blow.

Looking at Liu Shilin’s grateful expression, Lin Kuang couldn’t help but say with a smile, "Why be so formal with me?"

At his words, a deep blush crept up Liu Shilin’s pretty face, and she fell silent.

"Oh, come on, you two. Stop being all lovey-dovey out here. Let’s go inside to talk," the Witch interjected, her tone slightly sour, though the shy Liu Shilin didn’t notice.

Once the three of them were back in the room, Liu Shilin asked curiously, "What happened? Shiyu, why would someone kidnap you?"

Hearing her sister’s question, the Witch was filled with anger. She indignantly recounted the entire incident and cursed Wang Ya Hao up and down.

Listening to the Witch’s account, Liu Shilin’s expression grew increasingly grim until her face turned pale, her heart filled with extreme disappointment toward Wang Ya Hao. It wasn’t because she had any lingering feelings for him; she was disappointed because their relationship had once been so good, yet Wang Ya Hao had now done such a thing. She found it hard to accept.

Seeing the pained expression on Liu Shilin’s face, Lin Kuang couldn’t help but smile. "Shilin, don’t be too sad. Some people are born beasts, and with time, they only become more beastly. After all, only a very small number of them can ever truly turn over a new leaf."

"Mhm, I know. Lin Kuang, thank you," Liu Shilin said seriously once again.

"Alright, don’t be so polite with me. Besides, this matter might very well have something to do with me, so it was only right that I stepped in," Lin Kuang said with a laugh.

"Right, Sis, stop thanking him. We’re all family anyway," the Witch chimed in with a smile. Her words made Liu Shilin’s pretty face flush red, and she shot her sister a fierce glare.

The Witch just chuckled and didn’t say anything more.

Seeing that Liu Shilin had returned to normal, Lin Kuang smiled and said, "You two chat. I have to step out for a bit, so don’t wait up for me for dinner."

Upon hearing this, Liu Shilin nodded. "Okay, be careful. I’ll wait for you at home." As she spoke, her pretty face turned a few shades redder. She didn’t ask where Lin Kuang was going; she knew he must have his own things to deal with.

Lin Kuang nodded, left the house, and headed straight for the Yang Family’s residence.

In just over ten minutes, Lin Kuang arrived at the Yang Family’s villa.

Walking into the room, Xinxin was the first to run over. "Uncle, hug!" she cried out, stretching out her two little arms in an incredibly cute gesture.

Seeing this, Lin Kuang cheerfully picked Xinxin up and planted a kiss on her tender little cheek. "Xinxin is the best, and you’re getting prettier too," Lin Kuang said, smiling.

"That’s right! Xinxin is both good and pretty," Xinxin said somewhat proudly, prompting Lin Kuang to nod repeatedly.

At that moment, Yang Ruoxi greeted Lin Kuang, while Yang Ruotong was busy cooking in the kitchen.

"I’m going upstairs first. You guys chat," Yang Ruoxi said, turning to head up.

Lin Kuang nodded, chatted with Xinxin for a little while, and then went upstairs to Yang Ruoxi’s room.

Yang Ruoxi was already sitting cross-legged on the bed, waiting for him.

Lin Kuang didn’t say much. He still had the duel with Gu Yue, so he immediately began infusing Yang Ruoxi with his True Qi.

Half an hour later, Lin Kuang finished, and both he and Yang Ruoxi got off the bed.

"Auntie, Uncle, dinner is ready! Time to eat!" Just then, Xinxin came running up the stairs and called out cheerfully.

Hearing this, Yang Ruoxi’s pretty face flushed red, while Lin Kuang chuckled happily. He quite liked the title Xinxin used for him.

"What are you laughing at? You scoundrel, let’s go downstairs for dinner!" Yang Ruoxi grumbled, shooting Lin Kuang a glare.

"At your command, my dear wife," Lin Kuang said with a slight bow and a cheerful smile.

Hearing that, Yang Ruoxi’s face turned red again, and she glowered at him. "You’re getting more and more shameless!"
