Chapter 523: Sealed In Thousand Year Old Ice (3)

Third Person’s POV

The flower swayed gently even though there was no wind in the cavern, as if the surrounding frost energy itself was nurturing it.

The moment Nyx saw it, a faint look of surprise appeared in her golden eyes, and she recognised it immediately.

It was a rare ice-attribute magical plant known as a Frost Soul Orchid.

This flower was extremely valuable even among powerful ice mages.

When refined properly, it could be used to brew a wondrous potion capable of helping mages break through sub-realms within the Sky Realm, something that required years of painstaking cultivation and perfect timing, along with a wondrous opportunity.

And this flower was one of the wondrous opportunities that could help an ice mage break the shackles of the sub-realms within the Sky realm.

Nyx hovered silently in the air as she studied the glowing flower.

At the same time, a faint sense of satisfaction rose within her mind as this discovery had arrived at the perfect moment.

Not only could the orchid assist Ethan in resisting the Life-Stealing Abyssal Hex, but it could also strengthen the ice-based body strengthening manual he practised within his body.

That particular manual had reached a bottleneck long ago, and Ethan had been searching for a way to surpass that limitation for quite some time, which could help him in reaching the Crystal Formation Realm with his ice element.

Unknown to Nyx, he had already gained the necessary comprehension during his battle with the Earth Deacon of the Abyssal Sanctum.

But even without knowing that, she could clearly see the potential this flower carried.

Satisfied that she had found the location she needed, Nyx began flying across the icy pond toward the small island in the centre.

Her movements were calm and unhurried.

However, just as she was about to reach the island, the still surface of the pond exploded, and a violent splash erupted from the crystal-clear water.

From the depths of the pond surged a massive white serpent, its enormous head bursting out of the water with terrifying speed.

Its mouth opened wide, revealing rows upon rows of jagged fangs as it lunged toward Nyx with the clear intention of swallowing both her and Ethan whole.

The sudden attack would have terrified any ordinary mage, but Nyx was not ordinary, and so she remained completely nonchalant. 𝗳𝗿𝐞𝕖𝘄𝗲𝕓𝗻𝚘𝚟𝕖𝐥.𝚌𝕠𝕞

She merely turned her gaze toward the enormous snake as it rose from the icy waters.

In truth, she had already sensed the creature’s presence long before it attacked, and she knew that the mindless beast would attempt to strike, so she allowed it to reveal itself.

Nyx’s golden eyes locked onto the creature, while her pupils narrowed into vertical slits.

A brilliant golden glow erupted from her gaze as she activated the Dragon Subduing Gaze.

The effect was immediate as the massive serpent froze in midair and its enormous body stopped moving as if the flow of time itself had been halted.

Its wide reptilian eyes filled with instinctive terror, and a deep tremble spread through its entire body as it stared into Nyx’s glowing golden pupils.

The creature struggled desperately to move with the intent to escape as it started thrashing its muscles with all the strength it possessed, yet it could not move even a single inch.

The reason behind it was simple, and it was the fact that Nyx had frozen the surrounding space itself.

The invisible fabric of reality around the serpent had been locked in place, binding the monstrous creature helplessly in midair like an insect trapped in amber.

Then Nyx raised her hand, and a dark, glowing seal formed above her palm.

The seal was shaped like a coiled dragon imprisoned within a circle of ancient runes.

It pulsed once with quiet authority before shooting forward through the air and entering the serpent’s forehead.

The massive creature watched in horror while being completely incapable of resisting as the glowing mark sank into its head.

The moment the seal disappeared beneath its scales, the serpent’s expression changed, and the terror in its eyes faded.

Its body relaxed slightly as the spatial restraint around it dissolved.

Now, instead of attacking, the monstrous white snake lowered its head obediently.

Without paying it any further attention, Nyx calmly continued toward the small island.

The huge serpent silently slithered behind her quietly like a tamed beast.

When she reached the island, she raised one hand again, and the space above the cavern ceiling distorted slightly.

With a gentle motion of her fingers, Nyx manipulated the surrounding space as if it were an extension of her own hands.

A massive chunk of glowing Ice Soul stalactites broke free from the ceiling and floated down toward her.

As the enormous crystalline mass hovered obediently before her, Nyx began shaping it.

The space around the ice shifted and compressed under her control, slowly moulding the massive crystal into the form of a long, dark blue transparent coffin.

The finished structure was smooth and perfectly symmetrical, its icy surface reflecting the soft blue glow of the cavern.

Once the coffin was complete, she gently guided Ethan’s unconscious body into it.

His form floated slowly through the air before settling inside the transparent container, after which she closed the crystalline lid over him.

After that, she turned her attention to the Frost Soul Orchid.

With extreme care, she excavated the small plant from the icy soil, making sure not to damage its delicate roots.

Invisible hands seemed to carry the glowing, icy orchid that was soon planted directly above the coffin’s lid.

The flower’s crystal blue petals shimmered faintly as its roots connected with the surrounding frost energy and began to radiate a calm and soothing aura across the transparent ice coffin beneath it.

The moment she planted the delicate blue orchid upon the lid of the crystalline coffin, a faint ripple of light spread outward from the flower.

A gentle wave of pale blue radiance emerged from its petals and flowed downward like a quiet tide, gradually enveloping the entire coffin in its soft glow.
