The voice gave Lin Kuang a jolt, and he scrambled to his feet. "COUGH, COUGH. Get dressed. I’ll go down and stall them," he said, hastily pulling on his clothes. He wasn’t wearing much and moved quickly, so he was dressed in no time.

"Ruotong, don’t rush. I’ll go out first," Lin Kuang said as he opened the door and walked straight out.

After quickly straightening his clothes, a smile appeared on his face, as if nothing had just happened. He walked swiftly to the top of the stairs and called down cheerfully, "Little Xinxin is back?"

With that, he started down the stairs.

"Huh? Uncle, you’re here too?" Seeing Lin Kuang, Xinxin was visibly surprised before she came running over, skipping happily.

Lin Kuang scooped her up into his arms.

"I am. What, you didn’t want to see me?" he asked, smiling at the adorable little girl.

"Of course not! I love seeing you most of all, Uncle!" Xinxin said with a grin.

Hearing this, Lin Kuang laughed happily and glanced toward the main door. He saw Yang Ruoxi carrying several bags as she walked into the house.

Still holding Xinxin, Lin Kuang went to greet her. "You’re back, Ruoxi! Why did you buy so much?" Lin Kuang asked with a smile as he walked into the hall.

Yang Ruoxi also seemed surprised to see him there and paused for a moment. "Uh, yeah. What brings you here?" she asked curiously.

"I came to see you, of course. You weren’t home, so I sat down for a bit, and now you’re back," Lin Kuang said with a smile. He held Xinxin with one arm and took the bags from Yang Ruoxi with his free hand.
