Unrivaled Soldier in the City-Chapter 169: The Witch’s Heart
"Uh, Shilin, what are you thinking? I just asked you to check the wound. I didn’t mean anything else by it," Lin Kuang said with a grin.
At his words, Liu Shilin’s pretty face flushed with embarrassment. In fact, she was so flustered that she even forgot to cry.
"Alright, alright, let’s go inside and chat. I should go wash up, too. Besides, I left a grimy smudge on your face when I pinched it," Lin Kuang chuckled, looking at her flushed and smudged cheeks.
Hearing this, Liu Shilin blushed and nodded, and the three of them went back into the room.
Back in the room, Lin Kuang stripped down to his underwear and walked into the bathroom. He was absolutely filthy. About fifteen minutes later, Lin Kuang emerged from the bathroom with a towel wrapped around his waist, having thrown his dirty clothes into the trash can.
By this time, Liu Shilin had also washed her face and was sitting on the couch with the Little Witch. Seeing Lin Kuang clean and unharmed, both girls finally relaxed.
Lin Kuang grinned and sat down between them. "See? I didn’t lie to you, did I? I’m really not hurt."
"Hmph, you scared me to death just now," Liu Shilin said with a touch of annoyance. She had genuinely thought something terrible had happened to him.
Hearing this, Lin Kuang simply smiled. "Relax, what could possibly happen to me?"
"What exactly happened? Weren’t you taking Guo’er home? How did you end up like this?" Liu Shilin asked, looking at him with curiosity.
Lin Kuang didn’t hide what happened, but he didn’t go into great detail either, giving them a simple summary of the recent events.
Hearing his story, both women grew worried again. The Little Witch remained relatively calm, having experienced such things before. Liu Shilin, however, was different; her concern for him was palpable. 𝘧𝓇𝑒𝑒𝑤ℯ𝑏𝓃𝘰𝑣ℯ𝘭.𝘤ℴ𝘮
"Lin Kuang, be more careful from now on. We have a lot of enemies now, and those people are ruthless and will stop at nothing. I’m worried something will happen to you," Liu Shilin finally said, her voice full of concern.
Hearing this, Lin Kuang smiled. "Don’t worry, I’ll be fine. With you here, how could I bear to die?" With that, he gave Liu Shilin a playful wink.
Liu Shilin’s face flushed, and she shot Lin Kuang a fierce glare. Inwardly, however, a sweet feeling bloomed in her heart; she seemed to like this side of him.
The Little Witch watched from the side, her curiosity growing by the second.
Finally, she couldn’t hold back any longer. "Sis, are you two dating?" she blurted out in astonishment.
Previously, the Little Witch had thought Lin Kuang and Liu Shilin were just good friends, but it was clear that wasn’t the case.
At the Little Witch’s question, Liu Shilin’s pretty face flushed red again. She didn’t deny it, nor did she say anything, which was a tacit admission.
Lin Kuang, however, shot the Little Witch a smug look. "That’s right. Shilin is my woman now. Jealous, little girl?"
"Pah! The hell I’m jealous of you! Sis, did this bastard really trick you into this?" the Little Witch couldn’t help asking again. For some reason, she felt a pang of discomfort, as if something precious had just been snatched away. The feeling was awful.
Liu Shilin shot the Little Witch a look. "Shiyu, don’t be ridiculous. How was I tricked? We... we genuinely like each other." As she spoke, her face grew redder and her voice became a whisper.
Hearing Liu Shilin’s confirmation, the Little Witch’s eyes widened in disbelief. But at the same time, she was filled with an indescribable emotion. Whatever it was, it made her extremely uncomfortable.
"Feeling jealous, little girl? Maybe you should hurry up and find a boyfriend too," Lin Kuang said with a teasing smile, glancing at her.
"Jealous, my ass! You stinking bastard!" the Little Witch shot back fiercely, glaring at Lin Kuang.
"You’re obviously just drowning in jealousy and envy, but you’re too embarrassed to admit it." Lin Kuang shook his head with an expression that said, ’I see right through you.’
Hearing this, the Little Witch’s face turned red as she started to yell and argue with Lin Kuang. His laughter only grew heartier, while Liu Shilin watched with a gentle smile.
"Hmph, you’re both bullies! I’m ignoring you!" The Little Witch huffed and ran upstairs barefoot. She wasn’t truly angry; she just felt so uncomfortable that she didn’t want to stay there a moment longer.
Watching her stomp off, Liu Shilin couldn’t help but say, "Lin Kuang, don’t tease her like that next time. Shiyu is still young."
Pulling Liu Shilin into his arms, Lin Kuang said with a smile, "Don’t worry, it’s fine. I bicker with that girl every day, so she won’t get truly angry. By the way, I have to go out tomorrow, and I don’t know when I’ll be back. Don’t wait up for me for dinner."
"Oh? Where are you going?" Liu Shilin asked curiously.
"I’m going to the Eagle Sect. There are some things that need to be settled. Don’t worry, I’ll be fine. If you and the Little Witch get bored at home, you two should go shopping," Lin Kuang said with a smile.
Liu Shilin nodded. They chatted for a while longer before going their separate ways.
As they parted, Lin Kuang really wanted to pull Liu Shilin into his room, but the shy girl wouldn’t agree. Instead, she gave him a quick kiss before heading upstairs.
Back in his room, Lin Kuang turned his phone back on and checked the time. It was already one in the morning, so he finally fell into a deep sleep.
The next morning, Lin Kuang woke up early as usual. After freshening up, he hurried to the small square, where Yang Ruoxi also arrived before long.
They spotted each other and exchanged greetings. Yang Ruoxi then began practicing her Tai Chi while Lin Kuang watched from the side.
Yang Ruoxi’s Tai Chi was becoming more and more profound. It seemed to harmonize with the fundamental principles of the universe, giving it a mystical quality. Especially since she had recently used the power of Tai Chi to fuse the pure, unyielding yang True Qi with her body’s innate genetic True Qi, her command over the art had grown even more formidable.
When Yang Ruoxi finished, Lin Kuang walked over with a smile.
"Morning, Ruoxi," he said.
"Morning, you bastard," Yang Ruoxi replied with a grin.
"That’s not a very nice name to call someone, is it?" Lin Kuang said, feigning hurt.
"Who cares? If you don’t like it, then don’t listen," Yang Ruoxi huffed, turning to walk toward her home.
Seeing this, Lin Kuang could only shrug and fall into step behind her.
"Women really are irrational creatures," he muttered helplessly.
"You’re the irrational one! You’re clearly the one being unreasonable!" Yang Ruoxi pouted upon hearing his words, retorting in annoyance.
