Chapter 129: Chapter 129: Each Showing Their Skills

Driving, Lin Kuang’s heart was heavy. Although the matter with Yashi has been resolved, Chu Zhongtian is definitely not an easy opponent. If it were an ordinary person, they probably would have made a move on me at the Xiangya Club. I was even prepared for that. But Chu Zhongtian didn’t, which just goes to show what a formidable man he is. At the very least, he’s much smarter than Ye Tiannan.

The thought of Ye Tiannan made Lin Kuang’s eyes brighten. Since Chu Zhongtian is using Ye Tiannan to deal with me, why can’t I use Ye Tiannan to deal with Chu Zhongtian? With this in mind, Lin Kuang began to plot.

Meanwhile, Ye Tiannan was in a foul mood. The assassin sent by the Dark Blood Sect had failed to kill Lin Kuang, which infuriated him. Moreover, someone had leaked that he was the one who sent the assassin, which made him both angry and frightened. He feared Lin Kuang’s retaliation; if Lin Kuang came knocking, how would he defend himself?

For the past few days, Ye Tiannan hadn’t stayed at his own villa. He changed locations daily, staying at a different house each night, terrified that Lin Kuang would find him. However, two days passed without any sign of Lin Kuang, and Ye Tiannan couldn’t help but breathe a sigh of relief.

Just then, a knock on the door made him jump.

"Come in." After calming himself, Ye Tiannan spoke.

The door opened, and Liu Dong strode in, stopping before him.

"Young Master Ye," Liu Dong said respectfully.

"How is it? Any news?" Ye Tiannan asked.

"No. I sent men to investigate, but they couldn’t find out who leaked the information about you hiring an assassin," Liu Dong said cautiously. He felt helpless about it. He had mobilized so many men, yet the investigation yielded no results.

Ye Tiannan said nothing, but his expression darkened. Liu Dong had been with him for a long time, and he knew his subordinate’s character. The young man wouldn’t lie to him and was always reliable.

"What did Dark Blood say? We paid them, but Lin Kuang isn’t dead. What’s their next move?" Ye Tiannan asked again.

"The people at Dark Blood are also angry. However, they promised us they would send someone else within two days. They’re determined to complete the mission; they just need more time," Liu Dong reported.

"Good. That’s more like it. Any recent news on Lin Kuang?" Ye Tiannan asked.

"Yes. You know about the Yashi crisis. Today, Lin Kuang went to the Xiangya Club, presumably to meet Chu Zhongtian. I’m not sure what they discussed, but I’m certain that the trouble at Yashi was Chu Zhongtian’s doing. After all, that bitch Han Qiaoqiao doesn’t have that kind of power."

Liu Dong sneered. The mention of Han Qiaoqiao also annoyed him. Back in the day, he had almost slept with that woman, but by a twist of fate, she had ended up with Chu Zhongtian. It still irked him, but it was a secret he kept even from Ye Tiannan.

"Hmph. Of course it was Chu Zhongtian. Han Qiaoqiao doesn’t have the ability," Ye Tiannan said, frowning. "By the way, do you think Chu Zhongtian could have been the one to leak that we hired an assassin?"

"Huh? I don’t think so. How would Chu Zhongtian know we hired an assassin? Dark Blood would never reveal something like that. If they didn’t talk, how could anyone else possibly know? That’s what I can’t figure out!" Liu Dong said, his expression grim.

When they had discussed the matter, only the two of them had been in the room. How could the news have possibly spread?

Ye Tiannan also frowned, remaining silent. He didn’t suspect Liu Dong; the man had been with him for many years, and he trusted him completely. So who else could have known about their conversation?

As they both mulled it over, their expressions suddenly changed, and they spoke in unison. "That woman!"

"Yes! Damn it, it must have been her! Liu Dong, send someone to find that woman immediately! Once we have her, the truth will come out!" Ye Tiannan ordered, his face turning ugly.

"Yes, Young Master Ye! I’ll get right on it." With that, Liu Dong turned and left to begin the search.

Meanwhile, Lin Kuang drove to Yang Ruoxi’s house, as he still needed to transfer True Qi to her.

When he walked into the living room, he found Yang Ruotong, Yang Ruoxi, and little Xinxin on the sofa watching TV. Yang Ruoxi was relentlessly teasing little Xinxin, making the little girl scrunch up her adorable nose in frustration.

"Oh, Little Uncle, you’re finally here! You have to discipline your woman! She’s been bullying me all day!" little Xinxin cried out with an aggrieved expression the moment she saw Lin Kuang. She seized the opportunity to wriggle free from Yang Ruoxi’s clutches and scurried over to him.

Lin Kuang scooped her into his arms, a smile spreading across his face at her adorable antics. "Be good, Little Xinxin. I’ll teach her a lesson for you in a bit," he said with a laugh, pinching her cute little cheek.

"Hee hee! Little Uncle is the best!" With that, little Xinxin puckered her rosy lips and planted a kiss on Lin Kuang’s cheek, delighting him even more. Then, she shot Yang Ruoxi a smug look, as if to say, "I’ve got backup now." Her expression was adorable beyond words.

Yang Ruoxi’s pretty face flushed red as she glared daggers at both little Xinxin and Lin Kuang. "You little brat! I don’t believe he can hold you forever. Just wait until he’s gone. See how I deal with you then!" she threatened, her face beet-red.

"Hmph! Well, you can’t get me now!" little Xinxin retorted with a hum.

"Come upstairs!" Yang Ruoxi snapped at Lin Kuang, shooting him a look.

Lin Kuang rolled his eyes. Looks like I’m in for it again.

"Xinxin, go to your mom. I’m going to treat your Little Aunt’s illness," Lin Kuang said with a smile as he carried the girl over to Yang Ruotong.

"Okay, Little Uncle! Remember to teach Little Aunt a lesson for me!" little Xinxin said, blinking her big, bright eyes.

At this, Lin Kuang couldn’t help but feel a little embarrassed, reminded of the day little Xinxin had caught him on top of Yang Ruoxi.

Yang Ruotong reached out to take little Xinxin, and Lin Kuang gently passed the child into her arms. As Yang Ruotong took the child, Lin Kuang’s palm accidentally brushed against her full bosom. The soft sensation made his hand tremble, causing it to press a little more firmly.

Yang Ruotong certainly felt the contact. Her charming face instantly turned crimson, her beautiful eyes filled with an indescribable mix of shyness and allure.
