Unexpected Marriage With Mr. Leighton: Rebirth of the Villain-Chapter 297: ANGER
Some people mourned in silence, while others channeled their grief into destruction. Ranon belonged to the latter.
They barged into the Barlowe family’s house and ruthlessly killed anyone in their path. Unfortunately, Arlo and Michael were not there, but their father, Jack, and Gayle Lennox were in the middle of a discussion when Ranon and his men stormed in.
They didn’t expect this attack and were not prepared. Today was still the day of his wife’s funeral; they thought Ranon wouldn’t spill more blood on this occasion.
It was a superstition for them. It was the same as if Ranon condemned his wife and stained her memories by committing murder.
However, the superstition was the least of Ranon’s concern, as in his mind, Hazel was still alive. Ranon merely did something that he should have done in the first place.
Arthur called more of his men, and so did Desgar. It made it easier for them to get to where they wanted.
Some of the Barlowes’ and the Lennoxes’ men stayed to fight them, but some of them fled with their bosses.
Unfortunately for Jack, Ranon caught up with him before he could enter his car and shot him in the head. His bullet undoubtedly ended his sorry life.
Yet, Ranon was not done. Even though Jack was already dead, Ranon kept shooting him until his face was unrecognizable, while his men took care of Jack’s bodyguards.
In less than an hour, dead bodies littered the floor. The smell of blood permeated the air as Desgar’s men and Arthur’s ventured into the house.
Arthur knew this place like the back of his hand; therefore, he knew Jack’s way to escape this attack, allowing Ranon to reach him in time before he could escape.
From the sideline, Arthur watched Jack’s body lie on the ground, his face ruined, riddled by bullets. He had mixed feelings about seeing the man, whom he had worked with for decades, die a miserable death.
There was a point where he thought Jack and Deryl were his family. The three of them had built their own empire and made a name for themselves, but now they ended up like this. Who would have thought that?
Arthur stared at Jack for a long moment as the gunshot ceased and the situation was under control.
"Arthur! Arthur!" Becca screamed, calling his name. She cried so hard when Pete brought her over. "Please, please. Don’t be like this; this is a misunderstanding! Jack didn’t mean..."
Becca stopped midsentence when she saw her husband’s dead body on the garage floor. She thought Jack managed to get away from here as she stayed in the hidden place, since she wouldn’t be able to make it to the garage.
Yet, there was nothing hidden in this house for Arthur.
"Jack! Jack!" Becca rushed over, but she shrieked when she saw Jack’s condition. Her legs gave in. The sight terrified her. "What... Arthur! How could you?!"
However, Arthur said nothing as he raised his gun and shot Becca in the head. Let her join her husband.
Arthur remembered what Aubrey told him: how badly Becca had treated her.
This woman had the audacity to treat his daughter like a maid. Arthur wouldn’t forgive that.
On the other hand, Pete raised his brows. He said nothing when he turned around to search thoroughly inside the house.
Meanwhile, Ranon failed to get Lennox. When he killed Jack, Gayle used the opportunity to run away, and now, Ranon personally killed the rest of Jack’s men. He slit their throat until his white shirt turned dark red.
None of them dared to stop him. They were afraid of him. Even Arthur’s men could only stand on the side. Payton and Paxton were quiet, which was a rare moment, as they watched the horrendous sight play out.
Seeing this, Desgar put his hand on Ranon’s shoulder as he killed the last Barlowe’s man that they had gathered in the garage.
"That’s enough, Ranon," Desgar said when Ranon skimmed the room, searching for more to kill.
For a long moment, Ranon stared at Desgar. He said nothing, and all of the people around could feel the tension. They wondered what Ranon would do.
Would he kill Desgar for stopping him? Would he finally explode?
Ranon was calm; he didn’t say much, but one shouldn’t have mistaken the calm storm for a placid lake. Ranon was going to destroy everything that he touched.
"Hunt down Gayle Lennox," Ranon ordered Desgar. He turned around and then left. He took Arthur’s car, since his had been wrecked when he ran the gates, and crashed it a few times until the engine gave in and the gates finally collapsed.
"Follow him." Desgar looked at Dalton. He had been very silent, as he was mourning Hazel. Although he had only known her for a short time, he could say that they were friends. He was starting to like her.
"Okay." Dalton then took another car, following Ranon out.

"Ranon still has not yet returned?" Laurel asked Renna. She came here to pick Ashlyn up, as she was discharged from the hospital today.
Renna shook her head, and Laurel sighed deeply. She was annoyed with him. It didn’t matter how important what he was doing was; his daughter should have been his priority.
Sending more people for his daughter’s protection wouldn’t make up for his absence.
"Do you know where he is?" Laurel had been trying to call Ranon, but his phone was not active. She tried to call Ares and Lucian, but the two of them barely knew any current information about Ranon.
Laurel couldn’t tell whether they were telling the truth or not, but one thing she was sure of: they were busy in Ranon’s absence in the company.
"I don’t know," Renna replied regretfully.
Ranon had taken care of everything, so when Ashlyn was discharged, they could leave without being bothered with the administration or the paperwork that needed to be signed.
However, when they arrived, Cam informed them that Ranon had assigned a new flat for Ashlyn and Renna to stay in. It was still the same building, but it was not at the penthouse, since there was only one in this building, and it belonged to Ranon.
"What happened with his place?" Laurel asked with bewilderment. Ranon had gone too far to avoid his daughter. What was going on with him?
"I... don’t know," Cam replied. He was not good at lying, and Laurel caught it.
"Renna, you can take Ashlyn to the new place. I will go and check on him." Lauren then shifted her attention to Cam. "He is here, right?"
Cam was the newly appointed head of Ranon’s security. He was discharged two days ago and was immediately given the responsibility.
"That’s..." Cam hesitated to answer the question. He watched until Renna entered the flat with the sleeping Ashlyn in her arms. "I suggest you don’t come."
However, Laurel had no intention to do that. She was going to give Ranon an earful for abandoning his daughter. He was here and stayed in the penthouse while his daughter was discharged from the hospital but didn’t even try to make time for her.
What kind of father was he? Was he trying to be like their negligent father?
"Why not?" Laurel furrowed her brows. Annoyed. She went to the elevator and pressed the button for Ranon’s place. Cam came with her, trying to persuade her not to come.
"You will not like what you are going to see. Don’t bother him for the meantime." Cam was actually afraid for Laurel’s safety. Lucian and Ares didn’t even dare to bother Ranon so much.
Recently, he had been hunting down Gayle Lennox and the rest of the Barlowes’ men, and Arthur was more than willing to cooperate.
Not only that, but they came down hard on the McKennas as well.
Unlike the Barlowes, the McKenna family were mercenaries who were well-prepared after learning what happened to Jack.
The deaths and disappearance of the Barlowe family members were reported as the result of a business dispute. The news spread across the internet, prompting many theories. This topic overshadowed the accident that took Ranon Leighton’s wife.
But, of course, there were theories thrown around. 𝒇𝓻𝓮𝓮𝙬𝙚𝒃𝒏𝓸𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝓬𝓸𝒎
"Leave him alone for now, please," Cam said urgently when they arrived on the floor. "He will come around."
"No." Laurel then stepped inside when the elevator’s door opened, and the first thing that he noticed was the smell of smoke. This place reeked of the smell of tobacco.
Ranon was smoking again, and this time he did it without holding back.
However, not only that, but Laurel also saw that the place was destroyed. Shattered glasses and bottles on the floor, holes in the walls, ruined furniture, and much more.
There was not a spot in this house that was not smashed up. This place was broken; it was not different from the owner.
Laurel was flabbergasted.
"Let’s go back," Cam said. He had seen this, but it still gave him the chill. Ranon would come out now and then to check on their plan and even lead the ambush attack that killed Laith Denver, but whenever he was not, he would destroy this place or go to Aspen City and sit by the river for hours.
"What’s going on here?" Laurel’s breath hitched. She hastened her steps and saw that Ranon was passed out on the sofa.
The television was the only thing that had not been destroyed completely, though there was a crack at the corner.
And there, you could see a video of Ranon and Hazel’s wedding day.
