Sean Dalton was startled! She braced her hands on the sink’s edge as if all the strength had been drained from her body.

The next second, she took out her phone to call her mother. The ringtone rang on and on...

But Joan was stunned by the question! She raised her voice in anger, "Sean Dalton! What do you mean? Do you know what you’re saying?!"
"Mom!" Sean Dalton also raised her voice, "A stranger just came to our house and took Ethan Dalton’s toothbrush. I suspect Justin Kingston wants a paternity test!"
"Let him do it then!" Joan Graham showed no fear, "He is David’s child! That’s an unchangeable fact, even the Jade Emperor can’t do anything about it!"

Joan’s taxi stopped by a patch of reeds in the suburbs.
She paid and got out of the car, watching it drive away.
Soon, a black SUV came into view, approaching her and stopping in front.
"Joan, get in the car." A man’s head popped out from the driver’s seat.
Joan got into the car, and it continued moving forward. Her heart was heavy, only able to take one step at a time.
Shortly, the car stopped in front of a seemingly abandoned factory building.
Joan got out, and the man walked with her into the factory.
He seemed familiar with the place, clearly not his first time there.
Upstairs, the Syrian-style decor, the space was large and tidy, clearly inhabited.
She immediately spotted a man sitting with crossed legs on the terrace, only his back visible, with two subordinates standing behind him.
The driver led Joan forward.
"Boss, Joan is here."
The man merely raised a hand in a simple gesture; the subordinates behind him, including the driver, saluted and left.
In the vast expanse of the second floor, only the two of them remained.
Joan stepped forward a few more steps and sat down in the chair beside him.
John Jennings turned his gaze, coldly staring at her, "Did you come to see me empty-handed?"

Joan opened her bag, took out half of the Jade Pendant, and placed it on the coffee table, "Here’s half of it. I will get the other half soon because I already know where it’s at."
John didn’t eagerly grab the Jade Pendant, still coldly staring at her, trying to discern something from her expression.
Joan seemed to withstand the scrutiny, saying, "I’m not lying to you. This half of the Jade Pendant is David Garcia’s, genuine, and I took it from his study drawer."
