Twin Treasures: The CEO Wife's 99-Day of Revelations-Chapter 1041: Have You Fallen for David Dalton?
John Jennings stared at her, took a couple more puffs of his cigarette, and calmly picked up the Jade Pendant from the coffee table. One touch and he knew it was real.
Having roamed the underworld for many years, he had seen plenty of good items.
But he didn’t show much excitement, keeping a cold expression as he lifted his eyelids to ask—
"Joan Graham, have you fallen in love with David Dalton? Forgotten your own identity?"
The woman’s chest contracted slightly, meeting his gaze, "What do you mean?"
"Such a simple thing, and you actually fooled me for at least two years." John Jennings’ gaze fell back on the Jade Pendant, his expression darkening, "Wasn’t it just in the study drawer? You could have easily taken it."
The woman’s throat tightened slightly, not expecting him to be so meticulous in his thinking.
"You didn’t want to give it to me." John Jennings concluded.
"No." Joan Graham calmly explained, "He only recently put it in the study; before it was always carried with him."
What the truth was, it was no longer important, as long as they had it.
"Where’s the other half?" John Jennings asked her.
Joan Graham replied, "Stella Dalton, David Dalton’s daughter with his late wife who had gone missing, she’s not actually dead. She’s coming back."
Something flickered in John Jennings’ eyes.
Joan Graham added, "If she comes back, it will definitely threaten Grace’s position, so I’ve come to you today to ask for your help to solve this big trouble for us."
John Jennings didn’t immediately agree, and he appeared deep in thought.
Joan Graham knew she was running out of time; Stella Dalton might be brought back home this afternoon!
Once she returned to the Dalton family, it would be nearly impossible to kick her out again.
So she directly threw out the bait, "When your daughter prospers, you’ll enjoy the benefits too. As soon as she inherits The Dalton Group, I’ll make you the vice president of the group."
"John Jennings, Grace is your daughter, you can’t just sit by and do nothing!"
John Jennings coldly stared at her, "I’ll ask you one last time, have you fallen in love with David Dalton?"
He seemed... a little jealous?
Sensitive?
Joan Graham met his gaze, knowing that if she lied, he would see through it immediately.
"Yes." So Joan Graham admitted, "After Stella Dalton left, he still treated me and my daughter well. When you were imprisoned, there was no way I could have raised our daughter on my own."
John Jennings stared at her unblinkingly.
"David treats Grace as if she were his own daughter, investing a lot in her, finding her the best schools, providing her the best education, and even sending her to study abroad."
"Later when she entered the entertainment industry, David also paved the way for her, letting her star in a leading role right from the start..."
Hearing this, John Jennings got a bit agitated!
"I’m more interested in the Jade Pendant!" John Jennings asked coldly, "Where is Stella Dalton? Are you sure the pendant is with her?"
"She has another identity, she is Justin Kingston’s wife, and her current name is Mia Lane." Joan Graham stated truthfully.
This directly enraged John Jennings, "Don’t use Justin Kingston to scare me!" He stood up and grabbed her, "Joan Graham! Listen to me, you’re just a pawn to me!"
Then he dragged Joan Graham into the bedroom, threw her onto the bed, and very roughly made love to her.
Enduring the humiliation, Joan Graham forced herself to bear it.
"Is it really to save your daughter or to stay by David Dalton’s side?" John Jennings actually had his answer, but as a man, he was furious!
That woman actually betrayed him!
After being tormented for an hour, Joan Graham felt like she had just survived, lying on the bed, panting as she looked at him, "John Jennings, please help Grace, she is your daughter."
In fact, in that time, John Jennings had also come to a decision.
"How would you like me to help?" He finally spoke with a calmer tone.
"Give me a few people." Joan Graham said, "In the evening, under the cover of darkness, kill Stella Dalton, your people are swift and reliable."
"Alright."
He agreed readily, and Joan Graham finally breathed a sigh of relief.
