Tribal Sign-In: Immortal At The Start-Chapter 217: More Unknown Adventurers
Everyone immediately turned their heads towards the sound, and Rion shouted, "Dora!"
The knights unsheathed their swords. Salis pointed his sword at Rion, and the others pointed their swords towards Dora’s direction.
Rion looked at Salis with a confused expression and asked, "What are you doing...?"
Calvus also had a look similar to Salis, and Salis answered, "There are more people with him. He is clearly thinking of backstabbing the young master."
"W-what?! Why would I do that?" Rion replied as he hurriedly tried to stand up.
"If that was not your plan, then why did you not mention that your friends are also with you?" Salis questioned evenly.
Rion looked between Salis and Calvus and said, "I didn’t tell you...?"
All of them turned confused, and Rion added as he walked over to Dora’s direction, "Not once have I lied to any of you."
Hearing those words, all of them replayed every single thing that Rion had told them and just as he had said, never once did he say that he was alone; instead, he had clearly used us or we to mention a group of people, not a single person. Which he even explained while telling them about the unjustified acts of the unnamed lord.
Accordingly, Rion hadn’t hidden anything. They had simply ignored his clues.
Speechless, Salis looked at Calvus.
Calvus watched Rion limp towards his friend’s direction, and Jamie chimed in, "What is wrong, young master?"
Calvus turned his head towards Jamie and said, "I promised him that I would help him, but do you think that Father would appreciate it if I allow entry to a group of possibly troublesome people in the county?"
Jamie stayed silent for a few moments before he answered, "I do not know what Master would say, but I believe that allowing a group of useful people in the county would not be bad..."
Salis nodded and said, "If the others are just as useful, then it may even be better than before."
Calvus thought about it for a few seconds and said, "Let us first meet his friends."
Salis nodded, sheathing his sword, he commanded, "Follow behind him!"
Everyone began to walk towards him at once.
Rion limped towards Dora and the others while focusing on Calvus and his party using his Zone and commanding his own with Mental Whispers, <You all just have to act all scared and stupid.>
<Alright...> Zaelyane and Dora answered in unison.
<Why are you even going to such lengths, my liege? Can’t we just beat them up?> Yuura questioned while following behind Dora.
Sighing inwardly, Rion answered, <We need information and a clear background to move within the Bulorka Kingdom.
<We can beat them to get information that might be true, but then we would become outlaws who had attacked the heir of one of the bordering nobles, who are of immense importance to the state.>
<I see...> Yuura mumbled, still not being able to understand why Rion, who had enough power to flatten a mountain, was using such schemes.
A few moments later, Rion and the others appeared in each other’s eyes, and Dora sprang towards him. "Rion!!!!!"
Rion caught her, but was still thrown off his feet. She looked at his face and asked with a sombre expression, "Why do you have to get in useless trouble? It would’ve been better if we had just ignored them!"
He brushed her face with his right hand and said, "Yeah, but why go for better..." his hand crept onto her left thigh, and he added, "When you can have the best?"
She hit his left hand and replied in a slightly infuriated tone, "Don’t think you can get away from explaining it to me!" Though her lips were lifted into a faint smile.
A few moments later, Yuura and Zaelyane reached them.
At the same time, Calvus and his party, who were already listening, stepped out in the clear.
Unfortunately, however, as Rion and Dora were using Dharvik — the language of Dhaevrak and presumably an imitation of the gods’ words — none of them could understand what they were saying to each other.
Calvus nudged Jamie and asked in a voice as low as a Whisper, "Old man, do you know what they were saying to each other?"
Jamie shook his head and said, "I have never heard such a language... it must be of the village they are from."
Calvus nodded in understanding and studied all of them.
After looking at Dora, Yuura and Zaelyane, Calvus wondered, ’What kind of village has such good-looking people...? And that woman in the end... I do not know why, but she seems different, as if she is not even human...’ 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝒆𝒘𝙚𝓫𝙣𝙤𝒗𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢
"Ah, Calvus!" Rion yelped in an embarrassed expression. He looked at Dora and said, "How long are you going to sit on my abdomen?" Ď
She leaned forward and mumbled, "Why? Are you already tired of me?" Ď
Rion chuckled, shaking his head. He said, "Nope, just embarrassed." Ď
Chucking, she stood up from his abdomen and turned towards Calvus and his party.
Seeing their act of intimacy, the knights had already lowered their guard, and Calvus was already looking at them as people as close to each other as a family, not as some troublesome friends.
Yet the atmosphere within them wasn’t light; the knights still had their swords out, and all of them were staring at Yuura, whose hands were already at the handles of his daggers.
Rion immediately limped over to Yuura, placed a hand on his shoulder and said in Soline, "Calm down, Yuura! They are not with the lord, they are here to help us!"
Yuura, who didn’t know Soline looked at him with a confused expression, and Rion continued, "Yes! We will finally have freedom! We would now be able to do anything and go wherever we want!"
At the same time, he sent a Mental Whisper to him, <Smile and hug me.> Ď
Yuura’s lips instantly blossomed into a smile, and he pulled Rion’s into his embrace.
Rion hugged him back, and Yuura whispered in his ear, "What the hell is going on, my liege?" Ď
A teardrop slipped down Rion’s face, and he responded, "Don’t worry about it, Yuura. Don’t worry about it."
