Chapter 587: 278 Chapter: Destiny Voyage_3

"This trick consumes a lot of Magic Power, so it’s too much trouble to use. Besides, I saw everyone else was able to dodge them. Who knew you’d be the one to keep getting hit?" Alka said with a helpless shrug.

After speaking, he looked at Jason and asked, "So what’s going on with you? Is there something wrong with your body? Aren’t you in the Third Stage?"

More than ten days and nights had passed since Alka had determined their target and they had begun sailing.

Jason had already advanced to the Third Stage and had stabilized there.

Logically, he shouldn’t have been in a situation where he was constantly being hit by water pillars like that.

Although these water pillars were extremely fast, that was their main characteristic; their attacks weren’t actually strong. They possessed more of an impact force. Considering their group’s strength, they weren’t impossible to dodge.

It just required more concentration.

But who would have thought Jason would perform so poorly, as if he had been greatly weakened.

Hearing Alka’s words, Jason waved his hand helplessly.

"I signed a Link Contract with Ulu Liwus, which means some conditions can be shared between us."

"She’s likely in a crucial growth period and is inevitably drawing some Magic Power and stamina from me. There’s no helping it."

After speaking, Jason sat up and couldn’t help complaining, "Thinking about it now, I’d much rather be on a tedious voyage than deal with what we’ve been through recently. I certainly never imagined it would be like this! Let’s not even talk about today; we’ve inexplicably entered this strange sea region!"

This sea region continuously shot out columns of water. They varied in size but were all sufficiently fast and impactful. 𝘧𝘳𝘦ℯ𝓌𝘦𝒷𝘯𝑜𝑣𝘦𝓁.𝒸𝘰𝓂

Compared to today, other times hadn’t been much better either. Ever since they left the Broken Island Chain and began their aimless voyage, all sorts of unbelievable and harsh weather conditions had assailed them. It was unclear whether this was normal for the Endless Sea or if they were just terribly unlucky, and they had no way to verify it. Initially, it was just the sunlight suddenly becoming stronger and hotter. Then they encountered seawater that seemed to boil as if it had been heated on a stove. After that, some Sea Beasts would spot their ship moving, float to the surface, and prepare to attack.

In such an environment, waterspouts, which they only knew about from books, were never seen. Common maritime natural disasters like storms or whirlpools were also rare. Instead, they faced all sorts of bizarre dangers.

These chaotic sea conditions were far worse than the spatial fluctuations they had first encountered around the Broken Island Chain.

Spatial fluctuations mostly caused visual changes and weren’t actually very dangerous in reality.

These sea regions, however, had genuinely caused them considerable trouble, making their voyage anything but boring.

Clearly, this kind of excitement wasn’t a good thing.

"So, how exactly are these peculiar water columns formed?" Jason asked, glaring fiercely at the water columns shooting about outside.

He had taken a real beating today.

His body was undoubtedly black and blue with bruises.

"It doesn’t seem like a change caused by the environment," Julia commented from the side, sounding somewhat uncertain.

After all, the entire Endless Sea was incredibly chaotic; you couldn’t find a single area completely free of chaos or anomalies.

So, naturally, it was difficult to determine with certainty if environmental factors were the cause.

Just then, Pororo, who had dived into the seawater moments before, leaped out and landed on the deck.

In his hand, he held a fish they had never seen before.

It looked rather peculiar.

What made it peculiar was its elongated body, with its mouth being the most striking feature.

Its round, pointed mouth resembled a small trumpet.

As soon as it was brought onto the ship, it began rapidly spraying water columns in all directions.

This forced them to block the jets of water instead of dodging, to prevent damage to the ship’s cabins; the Sound of Dawn was a lady, after all, and letting her get repeatedly hurt would mar her beauty.

Seeing this, Pororo quickly used his hand to plug the strange trumpet-mouthed fish’s mouth.

Lucilia observed the fish while a notebook floated beside her, its pages rapidly filling with notes.

A new species, one she had never encountered before. Their numbers seemed quite large. The entire sea region was likely filled with these powerful and impactful water columns, all sprayed from their trumpet-like mouths. Another strange, unique species from the Sea of No Silver.

"So, this type of fish is causing the situation outside?" Jason asked from nearby.

Pororo nodded; he had learned more while underwater.

"This method of spraying water is part of their courtship ritual. Whichever fish sprays higher, larger, and faster naturally has a better chance of attracting a mate and reproducing."

Everyone nodded after hearing Pororo’s explanation.

That actually sounds quite interesting.

With Alka’s Mirror Surface defense active, they were able to observe the surrounding sea conditions more carefully.

Alka said decisively, "Alright, let’s speed up and get out of this sea region quickly. Maintaining so many Mirrors is a drain on Magic Power."

"We’re definitely eating this fish today, and I call dibs on its head!" Jason declared fiercely from where he stood.
