Transmigrating to the BeastWorld,I Picked Up an Adorable BeastHusband!-Chapter 28: Do you like him more than me?
Ningning sighed, she knew he wouldn’t agree that the task he had given was impossible to get done in less than a day.
Regardless, she still gave him an answer.
"Well, based on my situation. I need to befriend these women, I need to form meaningful relationships and gain backing. But you’re forgetting one thing, just like you said the human brain is constantly evolving, it’s the same for the mind, trust can be broken and a friend can betray you. So I still stand on my ground that meaningful relationships can’t be formed in one day.."
[-_-]
[You couldn’t make a single friend in under 16 hours. My fault for having an introvert as a host. I know damn well your friends in your past life were all childhood friends..]
-_-
"Don’t sly me."

The sounds of marching broke her up from her stupor, she looked up to see Weijie standing at the entrance.
The sounds of marching got louder and so the sounds of drums.
"What’s going on?"
Weijie turned back to Ningning, he wrapped his hand around her wrist and pulled her towards her.
"It seems some of the guests have arrived. Let’s go down and see."
Thump.
Thump.
Thump.
Ningning froze.
The ground beneath her feet vibrated faintly, the sound deep and steady, like a heartbeat echoing through the mountain.
She lifted her head.
From the mouth of the cave, Weijie stood still, his gaze fixed outward.
The sound grew louder.
Heavier.
Were these war drums?
They stepped out onto the rocky path carved into the mountainside.
Below them, the settlement was stirring.
People gathered along ledges and walkways, voices rising in low murmurs as the sound of drums grew closer.
Then Ningning saw them.
The bear tribe.
They emerged from the lower pass in an orderly march, their steps heavy enough to make the stone tremble.
Every single one of them was tall—unnaturally so.
Even the youngest males, barely grown, stood no less than six feet. Their shoulders were broad, arms thick with muscle, fur-lined cloaks draped over powerful frames.
They walked with their chins lifted, backs straight, pride written plainly into every movement.
Ningning’s eyes widened slightly.
"They’re... huge." she murmured.
Weijie gave a quiet huff. "That is their pride."
At the center of the procession, several men carried a raised seat made of polished wood and bound hides.
A sedan chair, its poles resting on their shoulders.
Upon it sat a woman.
"Who’s that?" She turned to Weijie, if he knew they were guests then he should know how they were.
"That female is Runa. She’s the leader of the bear tribe.."
She was tall even while seated, her posture regal, spine straight, chin lifted. When she stood, Ningning realized she would be at least six foot four, her presence commanding without effort.
"And that man in front, is her mate. Ayres."
Ningning looked up, the Ayres was even taller in person.
He looked like he was nearly 6’8 tight and Ningning felt that the muscles on his body were bigger than she was.
She glanced at Weijie, she liked his body, lean muscles, toned, chiseled jawline, he had a slim waist and she could see his ’v-line’ perfectly.
[Look at you thinking about his v-line but your soul literally left your body when you saw his ding-dong.]
-_-
Ningning nearly choked on her saliva.
"Y-you.."
[Girl, I listen and I JUDGE.]
-_-
Ningning cleared her throat and turned to face the crowd again.
"Runa, you’ve grown child. How’s your father?" Numa asked when they reached his hut.
Runa stared at him for second before a smile appeared on her face.
"Uncle. You’ve grown older. My father misses you dearly, so I’ve come along with gifts. Is Weijie really getting bonded?"
Numa laughed and shook his head. "This old man is way too old to look at you from way up. Why don’t you come down and we’ll talk inside." Numa smiled with his hand behind his back, he glanced at Ayres and nodded. "You’ve grown taller Ayres, I wonder what you eat. Come inside along with your mate."
Ayres stepped forward first.
The moment the sedan chair was lowered, he reached out without hesitation, one arm sliding around Runa’s waist, the other bracing her back.
Then he lifted her.
Runa barely had time to place her hand against his shoulder before her feet left the sedan.
He set her down as gently as if she weighed nothing at all, his movements smooth and practiced.
A ripple went through the gathered women.
Soft gasps.
Whispers hastily covered by hands.
Ningning blinked.
She could see the muscles in Ayres’s arms tighten beneath his skin as he released Runa, thick cords of strength shifting visibly with the movement. His shoulders rolled once, casual, as if lifting a full-grown woman was no more difficult than picking up a child.
"Oh wow..." Ningning muttered under her breath.
Around the clearing, several women stared openly now, eyes lingering far longer than propriety allowed.
A few even leaned forward unconsciously, as if drawn by sheer curiosity.
Weijie’s eyes flicked down just in time to catch Ningning’s gaze lingering on Ayres as he carried Runa with effortless strength.
"You only look at me. I have what he has too."
With that, he flexed, muscles rolling under his tanned skin, the strength in his arms and chest undeniable. The sheer force in the movement made Ningning catch her breath.
She blinked, startled and amused, then laughed softly.
"What do you have? He has bigger muscles and he’s handsome too.."
Weijie nearly let out a gasp as he immediately turned to look at Ayres, just before he got into Numa’s hut.
She thought Ayres was more handsome than he was?
He shook his head.
That was impossible.
"I’m the best, I’m the one who likes you the most, I’m the most handsome too. Ayres is beneath me.."
He lowered himself a bit and brought her hand to his face, looking like a lost puppy.
"Do you like Ayres more than me?"
