Chapter 599: Battle Of Gods

Two titanic forces, no different from what seemed like gods locked in a battle of the heavens, tore through the forest like an apocalypse given form and reign over destruction, their presence alone warping the very essence of the environment as though reality struggled to contain them.

One was pure golden, his body moving with madness and destruction as his katana moved with speed and velocity, leaving behind streaks of radiant light that carved through space itself, the other was a combination of purple streaks and white, flashing through the air as though, without the destruction of the world of Crymora, they wouldn’t stop, their movements carrying an ominous finality that promised nothing short of devastation.

And indeed, they wouldn’t stop; they would only do so when one of them is dead, when one bends to the other, when the will of one is crushed beneath the dominance of the other, leaving no room for retreat, hesitation, or mercy in this clash of extremes.

With another world-rending burst, the two blades met yet again, energies compressed and slammed into one another with intensity, before bursting outward in a circular Armageddon of rupture that expanded violently, tearing apart everything unfortunate enough to exist within its radius as though existence itself was being denied.

Astra energy tore through everything in sight with an overwhelming force that seemed to erase rather than destroy. Star Energy slammed into Astra energy like a battering ram as it tried to overwhelm it, the collision producing distortions that rippled across the battlefield. Pure lightning tore through the air and space alike as though trying to rip everything to shreds, its arcs lashing outward like serpents of destruction, leaving nothing untouched.

Another seventy kilometers were wiped off the map with just another clash of mortals, the land erased so completely it was as though it had never existed in the first place, a scar carved into the world by beings who transcended such labels.

But the two behind the attack didn’t stop; they simply moved, their speed faster than any jet on Earth, far beyond the comprehension of limits. Their blades became tongues of silver and war, extensions of their will and destruction; they didn’t just clash, they detonated into each other, every collision leading to destruction in every sense of the word, shockwaves cascading endlessly as though the world itself was being hammered into submission.

A sinkhole tore open beneath their feet, the ground unable to withstand even the pressure of their presence, but the next moment, they vanished before gravity could act on them, defying natural law without effort. They appeared on a mountain, but the energies they radiated erased the mountain before they could even make contact by standing on it, reducing it to nothingness as though it had never been formed.

They appeared midair yet again, their bodies turning into flickering afterimages and phantoms as they moved with speed, their forms blurring beyond perception as though the concept of air resistance dared not exist to the two of them at this point in time, reality itself parting before them.

The air screamed, it burned, it tore, it warped, it shredded under the strain of their existence, but still, it could do nothing but hope... hope that one... no, two... of them die, for only their end could bring an end to the chaos they embodied.

Space rippled in their wake as they moved, their powers now peaking to the extent that it could influence a core Law of reality, distorting it with their presence. It rippled like water as though it was about to collapse upon itself, folding and bending unnaturally, but it held firm; although strong enough to influence it, these two weren’t strong enough to destroy it outright... yet, though the implication lingered.

As they defiled the laws of physics as though they were mere suggestions they weren’t taking into consideration, disregarding every limitation with dominance, they tore higher and higher into the air like nuclear warheads, each collision into another unleashing sonic booms that echoed like the cries of a dying world.

The next moment, they appeared within the clouds, white clouds flowing around them in contrast to their destructive presence, but they weren’t here for the scenery; they ignored it entirely, their energies roaring around them, and like sovereign beings, they landed and took a step on a cloud as though it was the highest thing in the world to do, bending even the intangible to their will.

But the moment they landed, not even a fraction of a second passed, and they shot forward towards each other like bullet trains, weapons screaming through the air with an unforgiving storm of destruction, their intent clear and absolute.

The moment they clashed, time seemed to falter around the localized area of their collision, stuttering as though uncertain of how to proceed. Then a burst of energy thundered outward like a thunderclap around them, expanding with force. The clouds were immediately reduced to nothing, bursting apart as rain began to fall, but before the rain could even fall, it was vaporized by their presence, erased before it could complete its descent.

The two of them vanished yet again, their speed seemingly climbing with each passing split second as they moved through the sky, accelerating beyond reason. The once clear blue color now turned into a tapestry of color, a chaotic canvas that seemed too beautiful and terrifying to describe, warped by their energies.

But it didn’t matter, as the next moment, a purple sword light flashed and a portion of the sky was blown off, torn to shreds, reducing the newly colored sky to nothing as though it had never existed, leaving behind only void-like emptiness.

The next moment, they flashed again, katana meeting rapier, and with a force, the one holding the rapier was thrown downwards from the sky like a celestial being being banished to the mortal world for his sins, his descent carving through the atmosphere with force.

But the one with the katana didn’t pause; he gave chase instantly, his body a phantom of velocity as he closed the distance as though it never existed in the first place, his intent unwavering. The moment katana met blade again, an enormous burst of a lightning storm sundered outward with madness, the earth they stood on immediately liquefied under the pressure. Earth started to turn to lava, bubbling and churning violently, as though what remained of the forest was being turned into a volcanic hellscape.

The stones charred, the leaves burned into nothingness, the trees turned to remnants of what they once were, water bodies sizzled violently then were dried and wiped off the map as though water had never existed there, leaving only emptiness behind. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝔀𝓮𝒃𝙣𝓸𝒗𝒆𝒍.𝙘𝒐𝒎

The battlefield became unbearably hot, smoke rushing upward with heat covering a whopping forty kilometers, distorting the air itself, but these two didn’t seem to care in the slightest. They simply stared at one another like two people in a toxic relationship but couldn’t settle on appropriate divorce terms.

They only saw the other in their world; everything else didn’t matter at this moment, not their families, not their friends, not their organization, only this moment mattered to them, and they shall see it to the utmost end, no matter the cost, no matter the consequence.

This battle, this calamity, it must end in blood, one way or another, for such a clash could not conclude in anything less than finality.

And with that, the calamity of gods stuck in human flesh continued in an overwhelming show of power and might that could bend primitive or civilized worlds to their knees, a spectacle of destruction that defied comprehension and reason, leaving behind only ruin and the echo of their clash.
