Chapter 250: Going to the Waterfall With Zaria

The following morning, the group of four continued their journey.

And like yesterday, Althea made her way to his tent and did adult things with him when the night fell.

Maybe because she was lucky or perhaps because the goddess of the night always protected her, her daughter and General Lara remained unaware of what passed beneath the night sky, so she kept sneaking into his tent, sharing secret kisses, hushed laughter, and the kind of warmth that made the coldest nights bearable.

And after having sex, she always slept in his arms because she felt safe and calm in his embrace.

"You were really, really, really awesome tonight, Ren." Queen Althea, who was lying in his arms, stated.

Of course, he was always amazing and never failed to satisfy her, but that night, he was more incredible than ever.

That was why she used three reallys, because she wanted to emphasize that he was truly, undeniably amazing.

"I’m glad I could make you happy again tonight." He was also thrilled because they had an orgasm together earlier.

She looked into his eyes with a tender smile and said in a soft, loving voice, "Good night, my soon-to-be boyfriend."

"Good night, my soon-to-be girlfriend." He said tenderly as he wrapped his arms around her like he never wanted to let her go.

Shortly after that, the duo fell asleep.

Time went by quickly, and without realizing it, it had been a week since they left the Twilight Clothing Shop.

At this moment, Althea and the group were already near the Sunspire fort.

Sunspire Fort shared the same structure and architectural style as Commander Raiden’s fort.

The difference was only the environment.

A towering waterfall stood to the right of the fort, and the soldiers relied on its water for daily needs such as bathing, drinking, and other routines.

One of King Aldric’s plans was to poison the pool because it was their main water source.

"What a beautiful waterfall!" Ren suddenly wanted to visit the waterfall because its peaceful sound and sparkling mist drew him in.

"Zaria, how about you accompany Ren visit the waterfall later?" Althea gave her daughter an opportunity to be alone with him to depend their relationship.

"Al...alright." Of course, Zaria understood her mother’s intentions.

Even though she didn’t say it out loud, she quietly thanked her mother in her heart because she also desired to spend time with him in such a beautiful place.

"Great!" Ren was thrilled because visiting a waterfall with a beautiful lady was much better than going alone.

Once the bird was about to land on the ground, a mature man who looked in his forties, came out of the gate and waited for them patiently.

The grown man had brown hair and red eyes.

His name was Rowen Baxter, a 4-star mage and a colonel in the army.

Commander Rowen was not surprised when he saw them because he had already been informed of their arrival beforehand.

That was why he welcomed them himself because they were the queen, crown princess, General Lara, and their ally.

"Welcome to the Sunspire fort." Commander Rowen said politely.

Althea didn’t say anything and only nodded slightly.

"Commander Rowen, prepare four chambers for us and meet us in the meeting room after that." General Lara ordered.

"Understood, General Lara." Commander Rowen responded.

In the meeting room, Althea introduced Ren to Commander Rowen and inquired about the situation at the fort.

She also asked if the soldiers of the Tuiziya Kingdom had attempted to poison the water. Once the meeting was over, Zaria took Ren to the waterfall.

The gentle splash of water into the pool filled the air with calm and relaxation.

They also felt as if their worries and problems had vanished as if the waterfall had drawn them away from their minds.

"Hmm? There are two pools?" Ren saw another pool several meters from the main pool.

"The soldiers created the second pool." Zaria began explaining why there was a second pool in the waterfall.

Since the main pool provided their drinking and bathing water, they had created a second pool downstream.

This way, if they wanted to bathe in the waterfall, they wouldn’t dirty the main pool.

The second pool was fed by water from the main pool but it was positioned lower because, with this, the water would not flow back and contaminate the main source.

"I see." He finally understood everything.

Then, the duo strolled around the pools to enjoy the atmosphere. freeweɓnovēl.coɱ

To their surprise, it suddenly rained.

Luckily, the soldiers had built two resting buildings around the waterfall, so they had a place to shelter from the rain.

"I never expected it to rain so suddenly." Ren spoke abruptly.

Ren and Zaria were currently in one of the two resting buildings. The building was fairly large and rectangular in shape.

Its wooden walls stood about a meter high and only enclosed the back and the two sides while the front was open, allowing them to see the beautiful waterfall and its surroundings from inside.

They didn’t sit on the wooden floor because there were mats inside the building, so they sat on those instead.

"Me either." Zaria, who sat on his left side, responded. "The sky was clear with no sign of bad weather, so I thought it wouldn’t rain today."

"But don’t you think it becomes calmer and more relaxing when it rains?" He had liked the atmosphere before the rain, but he liked it even more afterward.

"Yes." she responded as she nodded.

The duo continued talking.

Due to how enjoyable the atmosphere and their conversation were, they didn’t realize that they had been talking for almost two hours.

"I’m glad I came to this place with you, Zaria." He was not lying when he said this because it came from the bottom of his heart.

"Me too." Her heart throbbed with happiness after hearing his remarks.

’I’m happy to be here with you, Ren.’

She added in her mind.

*Rumble...CRASH-KRRAK-BAAAM!

The thunder’s deafening roar suddenly echoed across the entire area.

Zaria, who was beside him, subconsciously embraced his left arm tightly.

No!

She didn’t take advantage of the situation to hug his arm.

The thunder was so deafening and terrifying, so she instinctively moved closer to him and embraced his left arm, burying her face and trembling as she sought comfort in his steady presence.

"I’m here, so don’t be afraid." He didn’t tease her and spoke gently because he could feel how shaken she was, and all he wanted was to help her find a moment of peace.

Zaria lifted her head to look at him.

For some reason, all the fear within her suddenly disappeared without a trace, as if his calm presence had swept away the fear stirred by the thunder, leaving only a sense of calm and comfort behind.

"Thank you, Ren." even though she still wanted to embrace his left arm, removed it because the fear within her had been replaced by shyness.

Ren retrieved a blue robe from his space ring and draped it over her shoulders gently. "This should help keep you warm."

Zaria didn’t refuse.

Instead, a soft smile spread across her face because his gentle care warmed something deep inside her.

"Zaria, would you take a walk with me around the fort tomorrow morning?" they went straight to the waterfall after the meeting, so he hadn’t had a chance to get familiar with the fort.

A sudden surge of fierce joy bloomed inside her. "Un. I will acco-"

* CRASH...BAAMM...

Before she had finished her words, the roar of thunder echoed across the entire area.

Even though it was not as loud as before, it still scared her because thunder was one of the things she had been afraid of since she was little.

’The thunder keeps crashing.’

Despite feeling afraid, she didn’t embrace his left arm and tried her best to endure it.

When Ren noticed her trembling hands, he took her right hand and held it, sliding his fingers between hers gently. "I can’t stop the thunder, but maybe I can help you feel calm and safe."

Zaria looked at him in surprise.

Her heart raced, and her love for him grew stronger because he kept showing her with attention and care.

’Ren...’

She squeezed his hand tighter before finally leaning her head on his left shoulder.

’Thank you.’

She was glad to visit the waterfall with him because she could feel happiness.
