Transmigrated into Another Apocalyptic World (BL)-Chapter 499 - 498: Talking about future arrangement
"By the way, what about your job as the one in charge of the affairs of the base if we are always going out?"
"We already talked about it, and there should indeed be someone left at the base who could make a decision as a representative of the leaders if they are away, to let them handle the problems of other teams.
The base would be hiring people to handle basic paperwork as well as other jobs to receive and handle complaints and other things, so we are only responsible for deciding what to do when things aren’t resolved by them.
For our next group mission, I plan to leave Wes and Bryan at the base to handle things.
With Bryan’s experience as a manager before, he wouldn’t lose when debating with other people, and he could also handle most things about people and matters.
And with Wes around, no one could just ignore their opinions, as they couldn’t even beat him when it comes to fighting."
"Oh, I also want to stay here at the base. What about letting me stay and letting Wes go with you guys?" Luciel asked with a smile.
"No, you should still accompany me out of the base; you’re not going to do any work even if you stay, anyway."
"Wes wouldn’t even do a lot of things even if he stayed behind and would just basically act as a deterrent, so even if I stay behind there wouldn’t be much of a difference, as Bryan would still do most of the work. And I won’t be doing anything else while outside anyway, so it’s still the same."
"No, at least if you go with us outside you can still accompany me, even if you don’t participate in killing zombies and collecting supplies. So you are still going out of the base with me."
"Tsk, I also want to stay in the base longer. In the next team mission, I want to stay behind. If I go out with you this time, I should stay in the base for the next group mission. If you don’t want to be alone for too long, then you should choose a shorter group mission for the next one."
It was still more comfortable staying in the base, so Luciel also wanted to stay for a longer time because they would often stay outside for as long as three months, and even longer when they were going outside of the base as a team.
Since he had been around for a year already, he also wanted to rest peacefully for a longer time.
Even though he wasn’t the one handling things outside and was still watching movies and playing games, he was still on high alert every day because they were in a more dangerous environment.
At least in the base, he could relax better, as it was still safer compared to when they were traveling outside.
"Okay, but only for the next mission. For the following team missions, you should still accompany the team," Treyton said in agreement, even though it was obvious that he didn’t want to agree.
"Nope. At least agree that every year, I could stay behind once or twice in the base while you guys go out for team missions."
"Okay, but only once a year. No more exceptions," Treyton said with a more obvious expression of reluctance.
"Nice!" Luciel said with a big smile.
They had already agreed in the beginning that he should always accompany Treyton on the team missions, as he wasn’t going with him on the shorter missions taken by the subgroups of the team.
Luciel didn’t continue bargaining with Treyton, as most of the time he wasn’t doing anything even when he was out of the base anyway.
"Don’t show such obvious reluctance; just choose missions that are a bit shorter if you really don’t want to stay outside without me for a long time," Luciel said and kissed Treyton on the lips.
Treyton immediately deepened the kiss and kissed him harder, with the obvious intent to vent his reluctance and disagreement with what he had just agreed to. Luciel was happy to get more rest time in the base, so he just kissed Treyton back to appease him.
In the end, both of them were aroused by such an intense kiss, so they had another round of fun in bed.
After having fun and resting, they didn’t talk about missions and other things and just began opening the gifts that they had received for Christmas. Of course, for Treyton, he had to open both of his Christmas and birthday gifts.
Both of them opened their gifts, and it actually took them some time because they had to open a lot.
Luciel looked at the gifts that he received, and most of them were still the things that he needed for entertainment.
As for the other gifts, they were mostly auxiliary gifts like clothes, some weapons from Treyton and his family, as well as some new poisons from Jacob that he had developed.
As for the gifts that were addressed to both of them, most of them were things that could be used in the bedroom.
No wonder the others didn’t force them to open their gifts earlier; they knew that the things they had given were not items that could be displayed when kids were around.
Looking at those adult gifts, Luciel didn’t comment and just let Treyton put them in their space for future use.
As for the kids, they gave them cute cards with greetings and wishes for both of them, as well as snacks they could eat.
The older kids gave them a painting of them together and also a collage of their pictures.
It seemed that the older kids had a talent for arts, as they wrote that all of them had painted something on the painting they had given them and they had also designed the overall collage, as well as edited the pictures they had used.
