Transmigrated As The Final Villain of a Death Game-Chapter 258: Hell Raid Arc [ 1 ]
There were hundreds of training dummies, alongside a few computer interfaces scattered around, each detailing a certain setting for both the white platform below, as well as the training dummies.
Some of them moved by themselves, and when I focused on them, I realized they weren’t powered by energy, but instead by some form of electricity.
I had thought the Demon Realm was more advanced... but this was just insane.
"No need to act so surprised. Look over here."
Ren pointed at an area that had a large marble floating in the center.
"This is what I call the Energy Training Quarters. I still use it to this day, as it helps me understand what I’m lacking. But to be fair, I’m not lacking much."
I rolled my eyes at his confidence and approached the marble orb. Then, once I was there, I glanced back at him.
"How do I use it?"
"Infuse your energy into it for starters."
I raised a brow.
"And what’s the catch?"
"The catch is that you should stop asking questions and actually try it out. We’ve only got around 40 hours until you have to join the raid, so hush hush, and work, yes?" Ren said.
Fair enough.
But right as I was about to start, Ren chimed in again:
"By the way, did you warn your lover about the Evangelists?"
"Yes?"
He nodded.
"Good, because I heard a chunk of the Evangelists over in the Elodrenia continent had been wiped out, and their bodies were turned into silver minions."
Ah.
I guess I didn’t really need to worry about Clementine after all.
Smiling to myself, I decided to finally start the training. Right off the bat, I did what he told me, and so I simply infused my energy directly into the clear marble.
Yet no matter how much energy I infused, the marble’s reserves seemed endless. Only after I infused 90% of my energy did I finally see a small dark crimson pool form inside the marble.
Realizing just how difficult this was, I stopped infusing my energy. In the next instant, the crimson pool disappeared, as all of the energy I had just infused suddenly traveled back into my body, refilling my reserves.
And finally, Ren approached me and nodded.
"Huh. I didn’t expect you to even get a single drop in there. Have you ever drunk some energy-purifying potions or something?"
Well... I did get an enhancement in my energy after the trial over in the Sun Vampire’s home.
But I decided to not tell him that.
"Maybe."
"Screw your secrecy. Still, it’s good. You got a decent feel for it, so let me explain."
"In short, this is an Energy Purity device. Everyone can have a lot of energy, but not everyone can have pure energy, if that makes sense."
Not really.
"So how do I make my energy purer?" I asked.
Ren smiled.
"Well, it’s simple, really. You keep using it over and over again to exhaustion, and by default, your energy will undergo a passive mutation."
I paused for a moment, then said:
"So you want me to just infuse my energy over and over again into this marble until I can fill it up?"
He nodded.
"All power is gained through practice and repetition. I could show you a shortcut to power, but why would I want to destroy your foundation, especially since you’re the most promising savior of them all?"
Right...
He only sees me as a pawn he could possibly control.
I didn’t blame him, to be honest. A being like a Demon Emperor was likely several thousand years old, and not only that, their power was the real deal.
For him to act so casual with me and disregard my disrespect at times... I could only say I’m lucky I ran into him instead of some other Demon Emperor.
Since, like most beings who have power, the more powerful the demon, the more arrogant they were.
Despite that, I decided to roll with it, and so I put all my focus into training my energy here, as well as making sure to get a good handle on my Gifts after shifting everything to the Mind Realm.
***
Exactly 38 hours passed since I first started training, and despite what I had initially thought... repetition actually did make a huge difference.
At first, to even get a small puddle to form inside the clear marble, I needed to infuse 90% of my energy.
But now, a small puddle formed at 5% of my energy, and whenever I used 99% of my energy, I managed to fill up half of the marble, which made the bystander Ren genuinely shocked.
"Are you sure you don’t want to become my actual successor? I could give you my blood and everything."
I smiled slightly.
"I’m not very interested in leading anyone. I don’t have any leadership qualities, aside from raw strength."
He rolled his eyes.
"Strength is the main quality of a great leader. But so be it. We’ve only got two hours remaining, so you should leave now. Have you told your lover about the raid?"
I gave him a quick nod.
In truth, I had thought over his words a little, and honestly? I didn’t want Clementine being too far away. Mainly because she was already being hunted by the Evangelists, and with my current authority as a savior, she’d at least have some immunity and respect from the demons.
And even though they were our enemies, they were also our allies at the moment.
So after I transferred the rune markings and everything else that was written on that scroll straight to Morr, he deciphered it and guided Clementine to the location where the raid would be happening.
Morr wasn’t the talkative type, so I had no idea how Clementine and Evelyn fared in the Heirloom Kingdom. But I guess I’ll just have to ask her once I get there.
"Now, Amon, I won’t be accompanying you today, as my authority is slightly too high. But don’t worry, all five of the retainers will be there to watch over you and make sure there’s no one too powerful for you saviors to handle."
Then, he tapped my shoulder slightly and turned around.
"I wish you the best of luck, Amon, and I truly hope you live up to your true potential."
