"Aurelia, listen to me carefully." He said word by word, "Take good care of yourself. I don’t need you risking your life to protect me. If there ever comes a day when I’m in danger, I won’t allow you to rescue me! Did you hear that?"
Aurelia Shaw looked at him without speaking.
Mason Nightshade surrendered, sighing softly by her ear, "Seeing you injured hurts me more than being injured myself. Don’t get hurt, okay, hmm?"
The breath against her ear was scorching, and Aurelia Shaw unconsciously turned her head slightly. "I won’t get hurt, nor will I lose my life that easily, so you don’t need to worry."
Aurelia Shaw didn’t know why, but she had an intuition that Mason Nightshade seemed to be afraid of her dying.

Aurelia Shaw stopped moving, but her hand kept searching his back, frowning to see if he was injured somewhere. Eventually, her small hand slipped inside his clothes, searching.
Mason Nightshade’s body stiffened, his voice instantly turning husky, "Aurelia! Be good, take your hand out."
"Mason Nightshade, I’m just checking if your ribs are okay."

Aurelia Shaw knew what the other matter Mason Nightshade was referring to,
Mason Nightshade held her, whispering in her ear, "But, Aurelia, as long as you’re by my side, I can’t help but think about it. So don’t tempt me, okay? It’ll only make me more miserable."
